You retarded niggers are still going to play it and then muse lazily why it isn't good right here on the Dex.

This game is an easy skip. I really doubt people have an inescapable urge to play Ass Creed after the snorefest that Valhalla apparently was. If you want your samurai/shinobi whatever simulator there's already Ghost of Tsushima.

No matter how much money Ubisoft pours into this one, or the army of shills they employ, this one is going to flop hard. I really, really hope it kills the series, it's been a zombie for years.

We can see these things coming a mile away. 2023 and 2024 has been nothing but game companies eating shit and it's fucking glorious.

Come, join us as we watch Homeworld burn.

Just today, Ubisoft announced massive losses. It's nothing surprising to me, but common people who don't follow video game news were still invested in it and think it's profitable and good as usual. You could see it coming easily. The basic rule when you have a commercial activity is to not engage in any politics at all. Spitting in the customer's face doesn't help make profits. I don't think Ubisoft will be able to waste more money on woke stuff. Investors are starting to complain loudly about it; heads will inevitably roll. Their Yasuke Assassin's Creed will be their last woke AAA. Mark my words and quote me in a few years

Video game maker Ubisoft swings to full-year operating profit on record bookings

(Reuters) - French video games group Ubisoft swung to an operating profit for its full-year to end-March, it said on Wednesday, as record bookings helped it reverse a year earlier loss of 500 million euros, its biggest ever.

Ubisoft's full-year net bookings jumped 33.5% to 2.31 billion euros, on a non-IFRS operating income of 401.5 million euros ($435.35 million).

"Oddo BHF nevertheless says it is "disappointed" with the cash consumption, as Ubisoft has spent 509.4 million euros of cash over the fiscal year, marking the third consecutive year in the red. The broker notes that this cash consumption is due to a significant deterioration in working capital requirements, itself caused by substantial trade receivables following the record revenue in the fourth quarter.
"Ubisoft confirms its turnaround in results" with the 2023-2024 fiscal year, "but the reading of the accounts is still complicated (significant contribution from infrequent partnerships, high cash consumption...)," judges Oddo BHF. "The commitments made by the management for the next fiscal year 2024-2025 also lead us to revise our forecasts downward (-7% for earnings per share)," the broker continues.
UBS, for its part, has confirmed its "sell" rating on the stock. The Swiss bank estimates that Ubisoft will generate only 112 million euros of cash cumulatively by the end of the 2028-2029 fiscal year. This is while the company will have to repay 1.4 billion euros in loans between 2024-2025 and 2027-2028. "Therefore, we believe that the stock will remain under pressure unless the group manages to generate free cash flow above expectations," concludes UBS."

It's ok people, relax. If the Afro-Samurai and the Thai ladyboy shinobi don't finish them off, there is always that next Ass Creed game set in medieval Holy Roman Empire, with the female protagonist who casts magic spells. Nothing can stop Ubisoft from... Ubisofting.

It's the future prospects that are disappointing, and frankly, with a Star Wars game priced at 130 euros, which will hardly sell, and a woke Assassin's Creed game that won't sell either, it will probably be worse than expected.

The stupid thing is all this controversy was preventable. Just let the player design their own character.

You have two very unlikable protagonists, the whole reason I enjoyed Black Flag was because the protagonist was compelling. Lead in part by the fact that the character wasn't a known figure in history so it allowed for more play. Here this allows for no play at all, the character has to do what they historically did so to me that's boring as shit, its better to be the character peering in on history than the character making it to a linear script - who would you rather play as Jesus or Ben Hur? cause Ben Hur had a much more fun time and was able to do a lot more than Jesus because he wasn't historical.

Its just shit writing to score DEI points. I don't have an issue with the characters being in the game, I have the issue that them being protagonists absolutely kills the fun not only of the story but also the setting as well. You could have had him be a mentor to a player designed Protag and people would've loved that shit. I don't feel compelled at all to play Japanese Mulan in a terrible remake of medieval Rush Hour or Shanghai Noon. Its been done, its been done bad and the criticism is fully justified.

Lazy ass Ubisoft as always.

95 percent of character creation is bad, Squirrel. The tedious numbers and sliders nearly always produce characters that look worse or blander than those made with developer tools. Notice that the better faces often look kind of the same, because the players choose from the only half-decent presets. Souls, Dragon's Dogma, head to body ratio in Metal Gear Online... anatomy is always wrong. Would have rather played Dogma with developer-made characters with their own stories, who can be swapped in and out of the party, with the option to take control of anyone in the party in the action. The bodies are even more messed up than the faces. So many games with custom characters have the women sized pretty much like the men. Also, they are often expressionless and mute. The popularity of character creation since Demon's/Dark Souls and the expectation of it now is annoying. Solution isn't character creation, solution is to cut it with the forced agenda.

You know they're just shapekeys right? its got nothing to do with the tools and everything to do with the artist not providing good enough keys. If all the keys were set to look amazing then the majority of choices the player makes should look good. It does however come down to how good the artist is with their rig/bind and topology. If artists didn't see it as an afterthought we wouldn't have these problems. Yep skill issue. Obviously if you don't have the time to make good variants in your shapekeys then your character creator is going to suck.

And well if the AAA industry produces shit defaults then a character creator is going to produce even worse results. I'm not saying I disagree with you, but it can be done well if the developer puts the time in.

nigga u wot. yasuke nigga never did this shit.
probably even more reason then because they're forcing us to play Yasuke in a stupid politically driven manner. But even then I'd prefer it if they just let us do what we want, I'm so sick of AC games railroading us into boring stupid plot points, its what sucked about black flag, just put me back on the ship ffs, fuck your stupid escort missions.

It was probably only a matter of time before someone brought up Odyssey because it's one of the better games, like Black Flag. It's okay to admit you like it.

But for much as I thought Odyssey was good fun, and Alexios was a bro (gave me huge Kevin Sorbo Hercules vibes), the best of the game was probably the stupid funny writing and memes. The combat was bad and easily cheesed even on the highest difficulties, the naval part was dumbed down from Black Flag, the islands were samey, and the game was full of modern video game BS.

The game was saved by its feel-good atmosphere and some comedic writing, which if they even still had the writers, probably can't be replicated.
WTF!! No. Odyssey is utter garbage. It's one of the worst written garbage I've ever seen, insane amount of gameplay padding and running around empty space. You guys have no standards, you bitch about garbage AAA games while simultaneously gobbling it up. Odyssey is the worst mainline Assassin's Creed, the worst one. Even worse than Valhalla which is also garbage.

Worse writing than Origins, Valhalla, Unity, Syndicate, Mirage, etc?

I get that the plot of Odyssey is shit, like all AC games, and granted I didn't play half of these, but I actually want to hear your reasoning behind this.

Maybe you played the sister instead. I don't know how the writing differs between the siblings.

this is just a perfect example of who all this rewriting of history is for: niggers already going around telling people how yasuke was nobunagas most trusted personal guard, and both wikipedia articles (foreign born samurai and yasukes own) already list him as 100% confirmed for super duper samurai.
