Yes, but the game is generous with endgame equipment either. I guess the bandits are either level scaled or I simply got lucky in the Dead City but I got dozens of heavy machine guns and medical equipment from them.

I found like 8-10 best anti bullet vests, enough best helmets, everyone was running with 2-3 good guns, for every type of ammo I had (which was also plentiful, although Fidel used tons of it with his heavy machine guns).

Besides, crafted weapons jam if you don't have a certain perk. Old soviet weapons you find never jam, despite the fact they were not conserved for like 20 years.

Its cause AK-47 won't jam on you even when put onto the ground for twenty years it will fire every time.

Game is not realistic though if those M-16s won't jam as crazy after twenty years on some dusty bunker shelf, but if devs did this all those Kwans would be very:butthurt: Comrade.

Not sure if our G3 is equally sturdy but it has a good reputation as well, in fact many soldiers I converesd with still preferred the G3 over the newer G36 because it was so simple and sturdy, G36 being lighter, less recoil and having better sights though. Never shot the AK-47 so I cannot compare. Then again would be weird if a German Infantryman would get to shoot an AK-47 during his service.

More survival elements won't make the game better unless they are more than just "carry around this number of supplies" and that takes work that's better spent somewhere else like making sure skills and abilities aren't totally worthless.

Having to invest a lot more into supplies means you do not have that much money for yourself meaning less ammo, less weapons, less stims, etc. So yes it makes the game better, both in terms of immersion and economy. I would even go so far and say that Atomboy should drastically increase environmental hazards so it becomes a requirement. This will also indirectly improve Lone Wolf distinction since handling team mates becomes that much more of a hassle.

Unless water costs 1000 per bottle and you have to drink per inch of map travel it wouldn't even dent the amount of rubles the player accumulates throughout the game. It will just be added tedium, as proven by the Glutton distinction. And requiring rest is worthless when time doesn't matter. What needs to be added are more creative ways of utilizing the hunger mechanic. And like I said that takes work.

If the goal is to improve Lone Wolf then improve Lone Wolf lol. Making players have to micromanage companions to that extent will only just lead to such exciting gameplay as reloading caravans 3x more than usual to obtain 100% gas masks, and making the dog even more worthless than it is now.

Bladder and taking crap in next version... hope not I would instead make devs working onto adding more perks instead of this awful Diablo like skill tree, companions are useless as they are unless you give them all sniper riffles so gimping them further is useless. Or not to mention fixing terrible AI and path finding which made me to reload the Bunker mission ten times cause either dog or Alexander deciding they will take the road around and alert all of those mutants at once. You either make a blob/Party based game like Jagged Alliance/W2 or not and there companions should be less important since you can go lone wolf and ditch them all. BTW finally got onto enchanced Dead City and like everything what was added really add to game.

I said radiation hazards, poison, food and water, not just water and if there are enough hazards there will be enough of a rubel drain. As to the gas mask, simple make them unavailable until very late game, period. Until then craft and swallow pills left and right to get through the wasteland like you should. I bothers me to this day that we get post (post) apocalyptic games which do not touch the actual struggle, just staying alive outside of combat, enough. As to time, the game already has timed quests, all he has to do is add timers to more quests.
The other thing that would help that vendors have some preference and stop buying every piece of scrap you just fished out of the trash bin around the next corner. Doctors should not buy weapons and armor, barkeep should not be really interested in buying ropes and nails, etc.
As to tedium, just let companions use it on their own during rests or when dangerously close to die from radiation or poisoning, you just have to make sure that the stuff is available in their backpack. Could even restrict this to special game mode just like we had in New Vegas, hardcore mode. Those who want it can turn it on, those who don't like you won't, problem solved.

Almost reaching the point of dropping my virginal playthrough. I think my biggest gripe with the game is how the game handles its NPCs. It's hard to tell which NPCs are relevant to quests and which are there for flavor. It kind of reminds me of those backer NPCs from Pillars 1. I interacted with all of the NPCs in the starting town, then realized that it would be like this for EVERY SINGLE npc here on out. Fuck that shit. Once you get to the big city, imagine talking to each and every NPC. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that they are secret quests buried behind a particular branch. Also, I'm not a fan of how most NPCs are treated like Lore Infobooks, it reminds me a lot of Morrowind in that respect. It doesn't feel organic.

Gonna give it a few more hours and see if the games non-npc heavy areas scratch that Fallout itch for me.

Yes make the game for small percentage of already niche audience ATOM team I would rather play in ATOM II and perhaps some other game from those authors like one done during Civil War or during the Smuta those would be hardcore post apocalyptic games then see the Devs going bankrupt.

on the back of a T34.
New naming system of difficulties check it out

- game journalist(old easy),you auto crit and can never die.you begin the game with the best equipment and the skill tree unlocked
Life is just too short for hard.

- typical codexer (old normal)
for the special folk that appreciate a good story but still insist on playing videogames instead of reading a book.codexers can access special dialogue and unique quests for every minor npc.
GOTY 2018.

- crpg entrepreneur (old hard)
From eyes of the beholder to pathfinder, from baldurs gate to the witcher you have played them all.you start with a porn magazine some napkins and a bottle of lube, necessities for the life of a tru gamer.

- red fucking guard( old permadeath).
Your greatgrandpa assaulted the tsars palace, your grandpa bayoneted his way to the reichstag, your dad stormed the presidential palace in kabul.
Will the nuclear holocaust stop you from making the world a better place like your ancestors did?you start with a moisin nagant,a bayonet and a bottle of vodka.
Good luck comrade.

Wow, really surprised by how generous some of yall are to the infodump NPCs here, given how much shit Numanuma and Pillars gets here. NPCs aside, itemization so far has been very weak. Exploration seldom yields to cool finds. at least in the more "dungeon" type of areas I've visited. I was dumbfounded by how many containers there were in bunker XXX and found zilch. Maybe there are other bunkers/labs that yield better shit. I'd hate to think that they lock all the good shit behind the crafting system. Also, really bizarre how some of the areas in the world map literally contain like 2 cars with loot and nothing else. Seems like they could have downsized the map a bit.

some highlights so far:
the election, the creepy mutant in the sewer, Dan is a pretty interesting take on Declan/Gizmo

Churka poshalsta bad itemization? Best items from crafting only? NPCs like from Nuemanuma? What kind of shit you drunk Comrade?

Found best items like best armor, backpack, sniper riffle and attributes addons thru quests and exploration, NPCs have always some interesting rumors to share and some-times hint to quests and Map is in right side not too big nor too small.

I liked the game overall, but your observations are correct. NPCs spew a huge amount of banal chatter, quest rewards suck (both loot and exp) there's nothing to find in this game and way too many containers. Encounter design is also abysmal. If you want loot and experience, the best thing to do is fight random battles against bandits and then sell their stuff to random caravans. Take the money and buy stuff from the random moneysink shops in town. I said the same things a few pages back. If you point out these obvious flaws, you will get irrational responses from fanboys and they will even straight up lie about it. For example I suggested that skill books should be hidden throughout the world so there was something to find, instead of sold at the store and some fanboy tried to tell me I was wrong and there were plenty of skill books to find, which is simply not true.

The NPCs mostly don’t give info dumps though. Most of them tell stories. I quickly clicked through the ones that didn’t interest me. But some were amusing.

I can understand not wanting to spend time talking to NPCs that aren’t involved in quests. But you don’t have to. And that they all have a unique portrait and dialogue arguably makes the game world better.

I can at least understand the opinion that they don’t add much but they certainly aren’t a detriment to the game.

Maybe "infodump" isn't the most accurate word, you could just shorten it to "dump". I also clicked through a lot of it. I can also agree the portraits were great. However I do think it's detrimental, in the sense that writing should be as short as possible to convey meaning. Any editor could tell you that being overly wordy in your writing is bad.
