Carrie Patel comes off as a decent enough person. Even though these are marketing interviews designed to make her and game look good, she doesn't seem like a bad person to work with. Unlike possibly other people in her studio.

His role for Avowed was just as equal, becoming more of an advisor on Avowed as a whole, and what he had envisioned The Living Lands to be. Being a jack of all trades with the design of Eora, Josh did assist when asked with system design and the world's history, due to his vast knowledge of his original creation, but in the end, played no major role in the production of Avowed.

Its success or failure, will not lay at his feet this time around.

She just suck at her job, nothing against her personally. Obsidian need people that actually care again if we wanna see their golden ages back,seems like post Pillars of Eternity 2 everyone died inside and its on autopilot churning stuff out.
Grounded maybe is a exception where Adam Brennecke actually wanted to do that game.

Bad taste with Outer Worlds and she was Narrative Design Lead, too attached with the late stage capitalism gimmick and the characters the only thing I remember after these years is boring motherfuckers that I carried around. Compared to New Vegas that I played several years prior and I still remember my experience because I have fond experiences of it and they were remarkable at the time.
Pillars 1 even with the slips and overdone world exposure that game felt people were giving their best and the game to this day combat wise and itemization wise is damn fun for me at least. Now PoE 2 felt like a trend chaser attempt because they didn't feel secure with their own product compared to the other competitors at the time and didn't innovate except the graphics and some game systems. They wasted money with voicing the entire thing when they could had spent that extra resources with better animations, extra content to add more player agency instead of the nihilistic ending where Eothas fuck you in the ass regardless making your journey pointless. This was reflected in sales later where Josh admitted the game bombed and I bet that was the final blow in their confidence to do CRPGs, that was heavily reflected in the games after.
Avowed as we had this talk before I look at it and it feels like a safe product both visually and conceptually, ok lets copy Skyrim because Bethesda is so retarded they left a huge gap in this market. And not some genuine effort where everyone has a hardon saying oh lets make this game to rival fucking Morrowind and make combat better with decent animations to follow given we are making it a first person game.
