No wonder people prefer to make their PC a normal human.

That was always the case, in every RPG with multiple class options. You would be baffled how few people play dwarves as an example.
I play exclusively human characters. In games with full party creation, I create 6 humans :smug:

I for one enjoy playing dwarves, but that's mostly due to how Dwarven societies tend to be portrayed in fantasy settings. Otherwise I don't particularly care about them as a race (humans > manlet humans).

Developers are butthurt that people aren't wallowing in degeneracy

Remember when the biggest degeneracy in BG1&2 was retards trying to romance Imoen? At least I think it was that. Seems like the BG3 writers just played all the fan made romance mods and thought that was their fanbase.

Also, while being able to give your PC weird eyes, horns or a tail might have seemed cool 15 years ago, it really seems quite banal nowadays. No wonder people prefer to make their PC a normal human.
Maybe it's still a novelty to those that were too young 15 years ago. Not that I was ever tempted to play Skyrim as a lizard or a cat even the first time. As for the elves, why do they always have those silly pointed ears? It seems very overused to me.

All those conversations dweebs used to have about being an edgy drow simpy outcast pining over human booby teenage girls while cucking their human barbarian fiancee have been left in the dirt. And feeling edgy and oppressed as a drow entering a town. What aspirations they had.

But modern RPGs just leap-frogged over recognizing your character for their race and appearance, and developers just want you to be a degenerate demonic bear shagger. That's what gets recognized.

What I really want to know is (might even buy the game if this is true) is there a summon goat spell? Or a BG1 equivelant wand of polymorphing > goat?. We might want the Welsh and the Arabs to feel the inclusivity as the goaty goat shaggers of the world.

nigga, new stats show that cleric literally least popular class in the game. first tweet is very very old.

let's ask codex - how many of you, fags, made mc cleric?
For co-op I was going to, with tempest spec for unlimited power, but you already get a NPC cleric in the second room of the game which you'll probably keep around. I guess most people thought the same. Wonder if we could get co-op only stats.

Best narrator was Kevin Michael Richardson (Sarevok himself) in Baldur's Gate 1.
Baldur's Gate 2 and TOB also had a pretty good narrator (can't remember the name of the voice actor).

I personally think that the narrator (Kelemvor) in Mask was better. Not saying KMR was bad or anything.

He's definitely a good one. He reminds me a lot of one of my favorite narration: Sacrifice 1999

I really hate how nothing in this game is even remotely grounded.

In BG1 and BG2 roughly 50% of companions were humans that for the most part didn't have wild backstories.

In BG3, 3 of 10 are human.

One is Minsc who is shoehorned in.

One is a magic prodigy that talks with a literal god and was given superpowers. He has to eat magic items or else he turns into a nuclear bomb.

One is an already established hero that made a pact with a devil and was given superpowers, he turns into a demon if he breaks his pact.

Dwarves, gnomes, halflings, and half-orcs all get the short end of the stick in this game. Everything is written to favor the demons and exotic elves you'd find in Planescape Torment.

Can someone explain what this means to me please? I didn't get it the other day, but on seeing it today I think it means: "You kidnapped my sister, and now in revenge I'm gonna beat you to death with my cock".

Or does it mean the person he's talking to fucked his sister and now they are gonna get some cock?. Reminds me of this but done seriously:

The local degenerates jerking off to this trash are in good company. Hopefully any retard unironically playing this does the right thing and joins the IGN tranny when he kills himself.

I'm glad I'm not alone in that. I think a narrator was unnecessary, let alone a voiced one. But it might have been an innocuous addition if done right.

But they didn't do it right. Every time I'm watching gameplay footage and I hear the narrator, I get find myself irritated. Her cadence of speech and the way she drags out certain words come together with some other quirks for a bad impression - I feel like I'm being condescended to.
My god, I'm so happy that I came here to read about BG3, because I was feeling like I was maybe getting mad. Jesus Christ is that narrator dreadful. I mean technically she does a good job, but in this game she 1) destroys any kind of atmosphere that's left that could be felt 2) talks in such an insufferable way that I cannot understand how could they choose such a specific voice actor for this, given that everything else is so generic.

And the voice actors in general sound so unbelievable - they give every line so much energy, it all feels fake.

Wait, that is not a joke? You really decide what pecker type your male character has, and create herms or shemales?
Shhhhh... don't worry about all that. It's the best rpg ever as long as you just kill everyone on sight, skip all dialogue and cinematics, never read anything and mostly just play with your eyes closed or maybe squinting really tight so you can make out some basic shapes / direction of movement. All the best games are like this, as I'm sure you're aware.

No need to summon a goat. You can always fuck a sheep in Arcanum.

The part you're leaving out is that you don't see a cinematic of it. The screen goes dark unlike ESG3...
