Like people associate fallout with BUGthesda's games?
People absolutely do this. you might be living in a bubble if you think that the majority of people don't associate fallout with Bethesda or obsidian in the case of new vegas. Larian has brought the downfall of a 20-year legacy.

Zoomers are certainly going to be in for a surprise if they play the original BG series after having played BG3 (AKA Original Sin 2: Forgotten Realms Soft Porn Edition).

Not like we didn't see this happen before with Fallout .

I've been away for a while saw there was some update in the cantrips but nothing major in character creation like the human alternate creation. That leaves me wary about it because its not something hard to implement those rules from 5e

The first thing I really dislike about "BG3" is the outrageous price for an early access.
I managed to finish D:OS 2 but got both triggered and bored with it's TB combat, looting/equipment, wacky writing and overall mechanics, and from what I've seen, BG3 is a glorified copy-paste.
I was hoping for a grandiose, darker, and easily moddable cRPG since we really lack choice in that regard in modern games, instead we get another D:OS.
Such a lazy and uninspired approach.

That's a crock of shit.

There are legitimate things to worry about this production, but that bunch of useless run-of-the-mill Codexer ranting is not serving any use.
And if anything the game already tires to be "darker" than BG2 ever actually was, anyway. Sometimes almost to a fault.

Also, whoever complains against turn-based combat is a spineless wimp, in my book.

I don't have issues with TB combat, I have issues with Larian's one. Long-ass fights, jumps all over the fucking place, bullshit ambushes which ruin any tactical approach.
Also, you just focused on the adjective "darker" and TB combat, ignoring half of my post but still labeling it a crock of shit. Okay I guess.

baldurs 3 is like modern television. Porn for women and gay men self insert. Where is the actual game to play?

All part of Swens master plan.

What bullshit ambushes?
There are several encounters where the enemies appear or reinforce from nowhere so you have to be extra careful, I don't remember how many but I'm pretty sure at least a tough Voidwoken fight starts like that.
It's not really about the difficulty, I beat the game on Tactician on my first run, it's the fact that any tactical approach is almost useless given the excess of jumps and ambushes.

BG3 ambushes, though. Because I don't recall any issues with enemies just appearing in fights. There is one monster hidden underground, but you get a sort of warning before it attacks.

After playing the Early access I am positively surprised by the writing and characters.

Nothing exceptional but it doesn't feel the narrative team is hired at mcdonalds and elementary schools like in previous Larian games.

I would say is on Mid-Bioware tier (Dragon Age, Mass Effect) level.

Yep. People needs to known how to manage his expectations. I have positive impressions towards BG3 cuz I was expecting DOS2 + Sword Coast Legends -> another awful D&D adaptation. And got DOS2 + 5e which is not great as Baldur's Gate in 2e but still decent if compared to other AAA """rpg""" devs.

DOS/DOS2 dialogue was completely intolerable. Listening to the dialogue in those games like being trapped in a gymnasium watching a play written by very young Belgian children with serious developmental issues.

BG3 dialogue is like being stuck with a TV show playing the background written by someone who managed an above average SAT score and recently read a scriptwriting manual with focus on a section about how to create characters that stand out by giving them strange and unexpected character quirks. Hence why every character is a snarky gay vampire who doesn't burn in the sun, an edgy half-elven priest of being a bitch, a mulatto warlock who tries to do the right thing (but harbors a dark secret), and so on. The game will be better when they let you roll mercenaries that have no dialogue.

That sounds like standard 2020 D&D to me.

Which is still 10 times better than DOS 1\2 farting squirrels everywhere.
