Finished it. I did not expect the
Underdark to be in the game yet, and they have a whole area almost as big as the surface one.
There is a lot of work to be done, combat needs serious tuning, cutscenes and animations are kinda bad, but the writing, the mystery, the sense of adventure - it's all there. I'm pretty hopeful for what they can do with a year or two of feedback and development.

How you felt about the characters? Maybe I'm being unfair to then? Or like someone mentioned before too British to me.

so what happens if you side with the drow and wipe out the druid encampment?
I killed the drow bitch for her loot, but I guess you go the "evil" (retarded) path of killing all the tieflings and druids. Why would you trade those cool characters and that cute bard with her song for a bunch of smelly goblins I don't know.
I've seen the bard mentioned a few times and I have a feeling that I missed her

She is on the left side when you enter the druid place where they are going to cast the spell. Instead of going down toward the harpies,go the opposite path.

Got myself poisoned by Nettie.
Couldnt get her to give me the antidote.
Reloaded, pickpocketed it from her.
Makes me swear to drink wyvern juice if I change.
Reloaded, stole the poison from her too.
She still forces you to swear.
Only option is to attack her. Well can't say I didn't at least try to be peaceful.
Kill her in one hit with her own wyvern poison. :smug:

I refused to take it and dodged when she tried to force me to take it and she relented. I agreed to take the poison if I started to change.

So after playing a bit more, I have some more complaints. As pointed out earlier in this thread, in 5e skill checks just feel bad. It feels like there is no difference between a supposed expert on a subject and someone with no specialization in it at all. In terms of UI, space to skip dialogue and space to select dialogue on the same key is one of the most frustrating design decisions I have seen in a while and I hope that this gets fixed in future. Combat wise I feel like encounter size is in a good place, but enemies need more abilities and to be more tactical with how they play. As an aside, seeing a bear climb down a ladder was 1 of the more interesting things I have seen in a game.

Steam says 24,4 hours right now, almost exactly as promised. I did not complete all quests though - did not manage to beat the spider matriarch or gith warriors, did not find the Duke, rushed through the last area, etc.

but the writing, the mystery,
:nocountryforshitposters:
What mystery??? It is some demon-mindflayer larping as God and spreading its fanatism with the worms that don't eat your brain, yet don't starve to death.
There's some powerful magic preventing them from performing ceremorphosis.
I got that, the point is that they should starve to death in reality. I take it that you won't be able to get rid of them till the late game. It is a copy/paste story from dos2,with the god and all that jazz.

Who the fuck decided on the button layout?
"L" for the journal? "E" for what amounts to the proper inventory? "K" for the spellbook??

All of them are cunts of the highest caliber, except Gale and Wyll, but that's half the fun. Astarion for example noticeably turns down his hostility if you give him your blood and show understanding with his plight of being enslaved to a vampire, though not to say he becomes a better person or anything - nothing stops you from laughing together as you slaughter everyone next day.

It bugs, they stay locked in the sanctuary except khagra. That path is very unsatisfying, untested, and unrewarding, its much better to just wipe the goblins , more loot and i felt bad slaughtering the tieflings and the kids anyway.

I'm still wondering whether Tiax will make the final cut. He's more entertaining and less of a tosser than any of the companions I've seen so far in BG3 (9h in roughly).

There's a few NPCs you encounter that seem to heavily suggest they'll be companions in the full game.
I assume the bard I missed is one of those.

I doubt that there will be more than the starting retards.
Halsin is probably one, he even comes to your camp. The druid class isn't in yet. Bard class not being in would also explain the bard.
If you don't get Halsin, you probably get the drow instead.
There's probably a ranger companion close to being added because the ranger class is in.

Anyone know anything about the
tiefling at the bridge before the gith? Was she someone I was supposed to remember? You can invite her to your camp.

:deathclaw:
Why do you assume that there will be a companion for every class? This is not a bioware game,it is larian one,and they have always given you companions in the first chapter. I don't think that they will be actual companions, maybe factions liaisons like in dragon age origins,or something similar. Most likely that is the reason why they decided to have only 4 member party. Dos2 had 5-6 companions, depending if you are custom character or premade, they also killed of the other 2-3 characters in the second chapter.
