At the very least this should tell us they're still aiming for a 2023 release.
From what I recall they said 'early 2023' at the start of this year, but I don't know if that was before the Russia-Ukraine war complicated things for them.

What does the Russia-Ukraine shenanigans have to do with Baldur's Gate 3 and Larian?
Do we have to support Ukrainye and Zelensky now to get them to release the game?

There was studios closed in Moscow thanks to this war. Larian had a studio in Moscow. It also affected OwlCat games, 4A games, Wargaming Minsk and lots of companies there.

edit : Wargaming leaved Russia and Belarus : https://wargaming.com/en/news/business-operations-worldwide/

Please share your adventures guys.

Already shared a lot of my experience in BG3. Epicest low level D&D adventure ever. Jokes aside, due the lack of 5E knowledge, I tough that some things where unacceptable, like soloing 2 Intellect devourer at lv 1 and blamed Larian, now I realize that most of my problems with BG3 are thanks to 5E, not to Larian. Lots of enemies got dumbed down...

Guys, I just figured out how you can get the best ending in the EA - I needed to clear some space for a fresh Cyberpunk 2077 download so I used uninstall.exe and it said "Baldur's Gate 3 was successfully removed from your computer."

:happytrollboy:

10/10 would uninstall again

Probably the best Divinity game up to date, and the worst Baldur's Gate (excluding Dragonspear). Overall, decently fun.

Writing is significantly improved over other Larian games, to the extend it feels completely different. Dialogues are decently written and also have great voice acting. However, character presentation is very much hit-or-miss. There are some affable ones, but it somewhat feels like a "freak show" of both a party and also NPCs in general way too often.

Story so far available (up to Grymforge) is alright, but doesn't take off much yet, quests are somewhat generic, but not boring. Equipment variety and character development are still limited, but they seem to be up to a good start.

Audiovisuals are wonderful, aside from not that good character presentation everything else looks stunning, environments are almost real fantasy. The only location I dislike is the Underdark. It is significantly too bright. Feels like outside during cloudy evening more than dark caves. Nonetheless, the rest of available locations look wonderful and eye-catching. Music is pleasant to listen to during gameplay.

Turn-based combat is quite well executed too, even more combat-heavy locations are enjoyable to play. It is not noticeably too repetitive, diverse enough, and can be satisfyingly challenging. In some aspects it improves upon real-time-with-pause combat of the originals, where playing warrior-type characters was too boring, but on the other hand, now everybody plays more like traditional spellcasting classes. Hence I cannot say it is definitely better. It could still be improved upon.

In all, in every aspect the game is considerably inferior to the original Baldur's Gate and its sequel aside from combat. While probably the best of Larian games, it does not have the same atmosphere or gameplay as the series it is a continuation of. BG3 is a Divinity: Original Sin 3 D&D Edition, not a Baldur's Gate.

If you enjoyed Cyseal in D:OS as much as I did and want more and better, you will most likely enjoy BG3, but if you expect a proper Baldur's Gate then you'll be deeply disappointed.

Underdark was decent before the last update where they cranked up brightness or some shit. Literally had to use night vision to navigate before.

As for the above post I disagree with the notion that BG3 is a better D:OS. Both D:OS were garbage, BG3 is awesome and is the spiritual successor to the series based on this merit alone.

diablo loot

You mean Diablo 3 "stat stickie" loot. Because Diablo 1/2 itemization is not bad. And to be honest, I complain a lot about spells in 5E, but magical items in 5E are also very lackluster.

No, the issue is loot with randomized stats, which is indeed in the style of D1 and D2. This is fine for Diablo-likes, Rogue Lites, and similar action-ish games.
And it worked especially well in D1 (D2 is kinda fucked up in comparison).

But the DnD style loot / equipment system is preferable in all other cases.

they're not comparable because BG1 & 2 are trash-tier games
Indeed.

BG fans should be happy Larian is even willing to work on such a B tier franchise. Luckily for them, me and Larian are such selfless, generous and benevolent people that we are willing to finally make it a good and high quality franchise, something Bioware never achieved.

So, did Larian add a day night cycle or this will still be remembered as one of the few RPGs without it (others being other Larian games)

I miss the crazy itemization of BG2. I really felt like my character became a god when they got 25 STR from Crom Faeyr, or similar items.

I'm hoping BG3 has similarly crazy items, even if they're only lategame or whatever.

can someone explain why the game occasionally making the screen darker is such an in-demand feature?
Because there are loads of mechanics (and ton of contextual flavor) that can rely heavily on it and are implicitly cut out when the game decides the mechanic is "superfluous".
Day, night, nocturnal and diurnal enemies/encounters, NPC scheduling, a camping system that doesn't suck unwashed ass or, you know, more in general ANY notion that time is actually passing in your game.
