I remember seeing this funny video that claimed to "scientifically prove!!!" that spears are thoroughly superior
But ultimately it just proved what experience taught me
The swordsmen that failed did so entirely because they either didn't fully commit their attacks, as they stopped/back away at the last moment, or because their "attacks" were just the most clumsy, ungraceful attempts at an attack (yet the author of the video claims they were all "experienced" fighters )
And the few swordsman that did succeed, never held back and actually showed to possess some technique
I look forward to your video showing how Lindybeige is completely wrong

No, really!

Is being able to respect companions really such a problem? It's not like you have to do that.
If they didn't give that option people would still do it with mods or not.
Yeah, just pointless to bitch about it. It's a fucking SP game.
Too bad you can't make the companions not-shit anyway.
come on, character creator is not THAT bad. not solasta tier.
CC's completely pointless if you can't give your characters custom voice sets, imo.

Hi.

bair? Bare! BEAR!

Gosh m aybe it was meant to be funny with a Bear but does anyone who has been playing as a Druid know if you can shapeshift into a mouse?

It would be a good way to explore and get under a door or through a crack in a wall like in Ultima 6 that is a shame it was the only time such a quest required being a mouse except if you wanted to explore Lord British's Castle and run through the walls using the mouse holes right but really a lost attempt at having such a unique member of the party at the time so is it just shapeshifting for combat and sexual encounters or if you play as a Bear are there quests that you might have to be a Bear to solve?" Maybe fishing for salmon or getting honey from a bee nest but if you can shapeshift and play as a mouse there is some potential to play a Druid but with Cities Skyline 2 coming out there might not be enough disk space for BG3 but will keep an eye on it and if it is like DOS2 probably not so much then.

Thanks,
Sherry
I'm interested in Sherry's thoughts as a Canadian, iirc.

Hi!

gosh! Button! JOSH!

Fresh fruit and vegetables with a few condiments tossed in was over $100 todcay after going grocery shopping but did you know what not only did I notice you are still active as the most awesome button to button but that if you stargeted on page 820 there is a DEADFIRE discussion brewing inside yet another game thread here after all these years that has passed it still happens how awesome is that button, right? They talk about Real Time w/Pause and Turn Based Combat being added as an after thought - and it was an after thought, but not the worst one to have happened. The worst would have been during a conference call hearing the open palm Monk slap from Feargus Urquhart on the table demanding the game has entire voice acting due to the sale numbers of Larian Studios' Divinity Original Sin 2 which had shipped with full voice acted main and generic non-player characters. To demand this on a quarter of the game being completed just was not demoralizing to an approaching completed game, but was the financial disaster that surfaced to continue talks with Microsoft for full acquisition of Obsidian's assets. Gosh, Josh has every reason to be disappointed with the sale numbers of DEADFIRE as everyone knew what that would mean if it did not do well. It is a great game, too little, too late.

Thanks,
Sherry

Wasn't the spear more commonly used because it was cheaper to produce, and easier to train people to use, than other weapons?

Late Bloomer I look forward to your explanation then because every single source I could find on the net tells me that the spear was

1) easy to produce
2) easy to train people to use

and that's why it was used so much

Asks a question. Gets an answer. Gets mad. If you already know the answer, why ask?

I'm not mad, just curious as to why people think that isn't the answer

BG3 is such a "steaming pile of shit" even the biggest haters are going to play it.

I'm a fcking mastermind
I might play it, but I aint buying it. :smug:
I'm all for poor people who can't afford my game to play it anyway. :hero:
Thanks, as a communist you understand people should have access to your stuff for free, very considerate.
As long as you keep sh*tposting about my game and doing free marketing, continue.

Why even buy this game for the porn when the stuff you can find for free on rule34 is better? Why torrent this game when you don't even have to download the stuff on rule34?

More like a mercenary. Which, by the way, is how Icewind Dale games portrayed its adventurers (with Icewind Dale II straight up offering pre-made mercenary companies).
Yeah, that sort of thing, I avoided the term because I went on about freelancers later on, your typical "career" sellsword would be hiring himself out to warlords (and therefore using military equipment), not rescuing a peasant's cow. And, after all, the boundary between mercenary and bandit sometimes fluctuated depending on what "work" was available at any given time.

I loved that about IWD2, by the way. I never used a pre-made party, but it was a nice touch.

I might play it, but I aint buying it. :smug:
I bought it, but might not play it. :negative:

It's not my choice, really, depends on what Swen does with the controls.

I just watched the most informative 40 minute video about a guy that comments on the full version of the game and it was mind-blowing how brilliant this game is going to be. I cant find the same video I watched but I will post it later. He mentions lots but what I remember is

  • 600 spells
  • real and logical differences on difficulty level
  • very deep character customization
  • the vastness of the city of BG and all the activities
  • real C&C and its impact
  • small but noticeable features like talking to animals and a displacer beast
  • many of the NPCS you can interact with
  • the starting region has 30% more content than what you experienced in early access

I am now even more excited about BG3 :bounce:

Wasn't it Wolfheart? I'm sure it was his video but I think he must have taken it down for some reason because I can't find it now
