I gotta say, I stepped in the BG3 reddit and came out of there covered in cum. These guys are just cumming perpetually about the game, they just cannot wait for the release, it will be truly a life-altering experience, something to "talk to your grandchildren about" (of course these little spergs will reproduce, this is inevitable). I like my enthusiasm and all but fucking hell, it really doesn't take much for some individuals to reach the purest peaks of untold, rapturous and continuous pleasure. Must be youth or stupidity, or both. Makes me appreciate the Codex whining and impotence for a bit, although not for long.
That’s pretty much all Reddit to be honest, you should only be there for r/buildapcsales.

Nono, most were *cough* hidden *cough* by placing them in the very first shop you enter.
To be 100% fair, The Cloak of Mirroring, the +2 Cloak and Wave are pretty well hidden.

Although the way some items are hidden compared to what they actually bring to the table seems pretty random. I found more use out something like Celestial Fury, than Wave.

BG2 has tons of op items like Shield of Balduran which practically removes all Beholderkin from the game.

I mean bg1 had really powerfull items easy to find. I remember still at the early game of bg2 to defeat the demi lich that was hidden in the city from a corridor summoning flame elemental after flame elemental using a summoning rod. Lol.

It's because most reddit/youtube users are basically corporate-owned bots. And if they're not, they should really re-evaluate their belief system.

I watched this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMB2se2XpJ0 ("BG3 Itemization is AMAZING! How LEGENDARY ITEMS and Equipment Change EVERYTHING!") and I can see we can throw any notion of game balance out the window. No one really cares. Press a button - something awesome has to happen is the school of design.

That's your reply? "The other game was shit too"?
You can have balance or you can have fun. One, and only one of those.

"game has powerful items :'(" thank fucking God, imagine playing with nothing but +1 and +2 garbage.
On the other hand Thone of Bhaal gets absolutely absurd with +6 weapons. And that's just because people complained that statistically the Monk does more damage than a Paladin with Carsomyr, at lvl 20.

Why can't we be sensible and not fall on either extreme? lol

>Within the claustrophobic confines of the Underdark, Tav, the unyielding human paladin, was held captive. His White skin was in stark contrast to the cold, black stone beneath him. Stripped of his armor and weapon, he was left to the mercies of his captors - a group of scantily clad drow women.

>Their laughs echoed throughout the cavern. Clad in barely-there silks and leather, their sweat-dampened bodies shimmered in the dim light. Their amusement was palpable, an intoxicating mix of cruelty and curiosity. A young silver-haired drow approached, her crimson eyes dancing with mirth. Without a word, she lifted her foot, smearing its sweat across Tav's face. The overwhelming scent of the girl's sweaty feet hit him like a tidal wave, a musky aroma that was as harsh as it was unexpected. His grimace was met with giggles, their laughter a haunting melody in the confines of the cavern.

>"Aww, does the stink of a real woman offend you, surface dweller?" one of them chimed in, her tone sing-song amidst the collective giggles.

>Another added, "Oh, look at his face! The poor human can't breathe!"
>Their teasing only increased when a second Drow, younger than the first and now completely unclad, approached. She turned her back to him, positioning her bare posterior directly above his face. With a wicked grin, she lowered herself until she was in contact with his nose, dragging her anus across it. The second wave of pungent musk was stronger, inciting another round of raucous laughter.
>"I wonder how he likes this," she mocked, her words drawing snickers from her sisters.
>One of the other drow crouched beside Tav, her eyes flickering to his exposed manhood with impish curiosity.
Good lord bros, I sure hope this does not happen to me... :dealwithit:

I see nothing wrong with extremely high powered items when you're at Epic levels.

Can someone cite an example of the OP items? BG2 had some incredibly powerful items, but they were all very cool. Itemization was one of the great things about the game. BG1's items were more appropriately subdued for the character level. The most elaborate weapon was Flame Tongue. That was an expansion item at the bottom of Durlag's Tower right before the BBEG. Still appropriate. Wands were easily the most powerful items in BG1, and they certainly weren't scarce. Also keep in mind the power curve in 5E is different. Level 12 is more like what Level 16 used to be. 16+ is more of an epic campaign tier now.

It really depends on what you mean by "OP items", really. The wizard rings are pretty OP to a wizard, because they give slots. Same thing with the cleric ring(s) to a cleric.

My opinion: The Ring of the Ram is probably the most OP, because it can damage a Demi-Lich, interrupt spellcasting and push it. (also 5d6 dmg is pretty good, too)

Also The Staff of the Magi can be pretty good for any Mage/Thief or F/M/T.

Azuredge (+4 vs Undead) : Any undead needs to roll at -4 vs Death or be instantly killed. You are able to kill any lich with it if you manage to hit him right before his contingencies pop.
Carsomyr : Paladin only (without HLA's) +5 Greatsword that casts a level 30 dispel on every hit.
Shield of Balduran : Reflects ALL Beholder rays back at them. Slap it on your tank and go AFK in any Behold infested place.
Cloak of Mirroring : Immune to any and all magic damage. I don't think I need to explain this any further.
etc...

Okay, yeah Robe of Vecna + Amulet of Power, and you can cast spells without the cooldown, which allows you to pretty much break the game if you use Time Stop.

I was keeping it as "OP per item basis", but if we combine 2 or more items, there's broken shit like you've never seen.

It's pretty great.

I wasn't clear enough. I was referring to BG3. I thought that's what the complaints were about.

BG2 did have some spectacularly powerful items, but they didn't and do not bother me one bit. They were really cool. Even the combined Robe of Vecna, Amulet of Power, and the Staff of the Magi wouldn't be able to save you from many of the encounters unless you knew what you were doing.
