Chris Perkins was lying there was an intellect devourer in NWN Oc campaign!
Stream wasn't exactly as informative as I'd hoped, most of it was indeed just stuff we'd already been told in the past. I guess it was to be expected since it mainly just was to announce the EA date but I was still hoping for something more.
Some things I don't think have been mentioned before were:
  • Familiars can go anywhere (except through doors) and can enter combat without placing the party or summoner in combat if they aren't around
  • Speak with Dead can, supposedly, be used on all corpses. Not sure if this includes bodies left behind after combat or if it's only for the pre-placed ones in the game world.
  • Early Access starts on the 30th of September
Anything else that was covered during the stream?

They also showed that you can use the animal handling skills or use magic to talk with them and you can recruit them which adds them to your camp where they interact with each other.
In the Underdark, you encounter a Bulette which can appear randomly
Mostly they talked about the production of the game and that their main focus is to make a system driven narrative with lots of options on how to approach each encounter.

quite high for what dos2 showed? Are we in for sparkles everywhere?

It's the minimum that is quite steep. Both minimum cards listed are clear cut above entry level cards still on the market, such as the GTX 1050/ti, for instance. Whilst subject to change, the requirements are pretty much on a level with the recently released Flight Simulator 2020. :masterrace:

I bet you have to run an all-female party or else you'll get CUCKED every night. Don't even think about recruiting the black guy unless you're a faggot, you know how it will end.

1050/Ti are entry level cards for games that are nearing decade old like CS:GO and LoL, not a game that will release on next gen. Besides, 780 performance is very bad nowadays since Kepler is absolutely trash at async compute, which is used widely these days. It's the reason why AMD's cheap GCN cards vastly outperform Nvidia's flagships from the same time period in new titles.

They can run games such as Kingdom Come Deliverance and many others still fine. This is just to say that with such requirements, many many older mid-range cards would be out of the picture as well (GTX 960 as a more popular one, for instance), plus a whole host of mobile chips. Considering the visuals on display so far, that would be quite steep indeed -- we're talking minimum requirements to actually be able to play the game (at reduced details and resolutions).

Get used to it. 16GB is the absolute bare minimum once the consoles start rolling out. Also RX580s have gone for about a hundred bucks for the past year and a half at least. Highly picking one up at that price as I'd imagine it still has a year or two worth of life in it.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
I just had the time to watch the whole stream, and as embarrassing as Swen might be with his weird sets, and him having a specific button for <insert caps lock thing here> or just fucking randomly having his ear piece fall off during the show, and a member of the crew having to physically come and pick it up for him, because he is ironclad in armour... that's nothing compared to the guy that said "we've never seen an Intellect Devourer in an D&D RPG before".

I can name NWN 1, for sure that everyone knows of. And then there's Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager too.
