These tards here really don't know anything about game design.
Taking what was already there in DOS2 and sloppily putting it together with Dragon Age dialogue is hard work!

Except it's not. Larian were lazy when they should have been crunching. instead they were busy sipping soy-lattes and figuring out how they could effectively cater and pander to woke-ism, and it shows.

The only real "pander[ing] to woke-ism" I've seen is the "identity" thing in char creation, which seems to amusingly have no effect on the game whatsoever.

I'll tell you what I don't like though. Everything feels like it's written by porn addicted creeps. There's this "priest of pain" who wants to hit me. Okay, I'll do it, to get the blessing of the Goddess of Pain.

While I'm being hit, my companions say "ohohoh i didnt know she was into that ;)" and "hmmm maybe i could do that to you later ;)". Fuck outta here you degenerate maggots. It feels like I'm in the sweaty grip of a Belgian pervert whispering his boring, tedious, predictable, mind-numbing "kinks" to me. Male writing at its worst. Away with you, vile fuckers.

Oh god why can't you make a team of four custom characters. I don't want these insane pricks jabbering on at me, I want four trained professionals who get shit done.

Sad to say, that's what it looks like. As Zeriel says, there are flashes of good stuff, but increasingly I'm finding more and more annoyances.

The plethora of degenerate options in conversation and the "surprise luxury camp" may seem like small things, but in the context of immersion normally having been Larian's strong suit, throwing away their main advantage like that so early in the game for the sake of pandering is a sign of something having gone wonky with their priorities in their design process.

The saving grace so far is the combat/encounter design though, it has to be said; godawful UI to the side, it's solidly-enough implemented to give a reasonable sense of problem-solving on Tactician, and it's got both the 5e smoothness and the "try whatever the heck you want" thing of the DOS games.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'll tell you what I don't like. I don't like writing that tries to be important. Significant. Poignant. By following up every sentence with qualifiers that are unnecessary, that break up the flow. That are superfluous. Tiresome.

Finally got around to this.

Look, I'm not a fan of Owlcat's new vRPG subgenre (that's vegan RPG, didn't you know?) but Pathfinder's artstyle and UI is so much more tasteful and pleasing and nice to use. In comparison art and UI in BG3 looks like an amateur hour. Even DOS2 was miles better in this.

Just the first thing that struck me when I booted it.

Man this world of magic sure is filled with bandits. Some are very cunning and try to lure you into a trap (traditional or....of a different nature).
It is in the best interest of every conscious citizen of this land to be vigilant in these trying times and take precautions.
It's why this song has become my characters theme song:

It's like everyone wants to play you in some way, or just straight up rob you, or worse.
The soft glows are off, you mess with me, you die. Consequences be damned.

Game isn't woke though. It caters to everyone
That's what Woke actually is, you Galah.

Trying to appease as many people as possible by casting the widest net they can is what's Woke, like those shitty Marvel movies. BG3 does nothing to appease actual BG fans because it's too busy trying to pander to people who don't even know what the fuck BG was.

POE will be my superior choice for a modern day cRPG long after the masses have moved on and forgotten about BG3. Why? Because the truth is that POE came from people who gave a shit about classic cRPG fans and actually made an effort to put out something reminiscent of the classics, which is exactly the opposite of what Larian has done. Larian went for the Xbox 360 biodrone crowd, which is without a doubt the worst era to be drawing inspiration from.

Larian have successfully drawn water from the Well of Decline of that era and put it out to the market, and now as a result of their success we can look forward to more years of similar decline RPG's.

How is the combat compared to Solasta's ? Also, are the feats better than in that game?

FAR prefer Solasta's combat and tactical engine. It is intuitive and well has a fairly well designed UI although the UI is a bit too large. Feats in Solasta however were awful, BG3 murders Solasta in that department. So its a mixed bag. If you could take the UI and combat engine from Solasta and port it to BG3 you'd have a really good turn based RPG.

I'll hire the Solasta team for my next project

The fact you can't normally kill/attack through dialogue normally even when it would make sense is dumb.
Wat? You can force-attack like in the IE games. You want it explicitly through the dialogue options.
