I can't tell if the journo who whined about taking 10+ hours to get to level 4 was on a different version or was just enjoying the "dialogue".

It took me less than 3 hours to get there, and I spent a good amount of that time bashing my head against near impossible fights with only my paladin and Shadowheart.

The dude probably avoided every single instance to smite evil-doers (and people who looked at you cross-eyed) with the limp-wristed "pacifism" of modern journos, eager to slurp up the cringe that is the romance scenes.

It's part of her backstory.

Also, I have to be surprised at the amount of people surprised that tieflings act like tieflings.

Have no actual skills and need Chad Druid Magic to protect them-- check.
Whine about being "refugees" so please give us all your resources, 'we need dem gibs!'- check.
Are allowed to infiltrate Druid Host Nation and then immediately set about stealing anything that isn't nailed down from the people kind enough to give them refuge?- Check.

So, in summary, Tieflings are modeled after gypsies, illegal immigrants, and niggers is basically what you are saying? If in game behavior is any indication then... checks out.

The only real "pander[ing] to woke-ism" I've seen is the "identity" thing in char creation, which seems to amusingly have no effect on the game whatsoever.

-Attractive sprites and graphics that are pleasant to look at

As an alternative, Battlemaster is no joke with all the superiority dice they get. You can do some wild shit w/ that subclass. I used it in Solasta to great effect and it looks to be very decent here too.

The fact you can't normally kill/attack through dialogue normally even when it would make sense is dumb.

Wat? You can force-attack like in the IE games. You want it explicitly through the dialogue options.

On the bottom left in dialogue, there are some buttons, I noticed in one conversation that there was an "Attack" button - don't know if that's common for all dialogues as I only noticed that shortly before quitting the game.

If it is, that can only be described as a good thing (not that I personally would ever take advantage of it, I'm congenitally incapable of playing evil characters ).

Come on, BG3 is nowhere near as bad as Dragon Age. Turn-based vs shitty RTWP alone is enough to make BG3 leagues better, but on top of that basically everything about it outclasses Generic Age.

The Dragon Age influence shows up in the writing sometimes and the camp dialogue, which is pretty universally poor from what I've played so far, but the actual game itself is light years ahead of DA:O.
