Smith: I remember once we had some playtesters and I asked this group of six who they were romancing. And every single one said, “No one will have sex with me!” And I was like “Oh god, this is the worst thing that can happen in an RPG.” So we looked at all the balance. And then I was like, "…I think these guys just aren't very good at it.”

I finally completed my first playthrough. It was fun. I was playing on balanced, and now I will start again on tactical. I'll be probably playing it for a few more months.
I have a question for the good people of Codex, though. What was your toughest battle in the game? Because I don't know if I'm dumb or what, but I couldn't
handle Sarevok
. Took me several tries. Need opinions.

No, he's referring to 3 party members who "dislike talking" to him, meaning that he had a full party of 4 by "D&D 5th edition" standards, the maximum allowable in BG3. Sounds like his own only issue was not exploring or pursuing side quests.

The hardest difficulty adds special powers to some enemies, and for the Shar cult fight that meant several enemies that reflect radiant damage. I respecced my paladin PC for that battle and converted him back afterward (also retried it as a paladin on normal difficulty, where it was fairly easy). Don't recall having any difficulty with the fight you mention, since the boss should go down in 2 or 3 rounds, leaving a few weaker enemies to mop up.

Tbh I didn't even win that coz I was a bad guy. But you would want to mess with action economy first and foremost: haste your dudes, control enemy ones. That's the key to pretty much every encounter.

This battle is sort of inverted compared to most of the similar-looking ones because you have to focus-fire Sarevok. As I remember it, he gets bonus HP for each bitch you knock out. The good news is that compared to Raphael, he's a total lightweight.

Killing Gortash during his ceremony.

There's no real benefit to doing it though. Just a long, difficult fight. You also lose out on Mizora's interactions with Wyll from that point on.

Wyll also whines that you killed his dad - which he himself can do later on in exchange for his freedom from a contract he'd only have to wait 6 months to end anyway if you'd played things right to that point.

GOTY hotfix: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1086940/view/3907498939954055963

Hotfix #13 Now Live!
Version Number: 4.1.1.4145012

Hello everyone,

We have another hotfix for you today, taking aim at a few crashes, bugs, and glitches. Traders across Faerûn have been coming to us, claiming that enterprising adventurers have been ‘pulling a fast one on them’ - we’ve had a word with their guild, and made them aware of your tricks. We continue to work on future hotfixes and updates taking care of issues already reported to us.

Thank you for taking the time to submit these issues to us. If you have any bugs to report, please reach out to our support team. Thank you for playing Baldur’s Gate 3!

FIXES
  • Fixed a possible crash when leaving Act II.
  • Fixed an exploit that let you buy out a trader with only 1 gold and a container.
  • Fixed the total price on tooltips within containers not updating when the contents change while trading.
  • Fixed balancing offers when bartering not working properly when there is a container in the offer with gold in it.
  • Fixed empty bags sold to vendors costing the equivalent of the items that were stored in that bag.
  • Improved performance in Baldur's Gate after peacefully resolving the Knights of the Shield situation on PS5.

I am not really surprised. This is The Troon Awards, after all.

The Last of Us 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition also won GOTY, so it makes sense that a woke pornographic visual novel, where you can fuck bears and squid men, also won.
