Didn't the NPCs in Bioware games require you to make direct advances though?
Zevran was the infamous one in Dragon Age Origins. He would say something like "I just wanted you to know I think you're pretty great," and if you responded "I feel the same way", BAM, gay elf sex.
To be fair, that's probably how gay elf sex happens in real life as well.

I let Lae'zel threaten a stranger and she went from hating me and calling me ugly to ranting about how my "scent" made her want to ride me like a bull.

The writing is just schizophrenic.
Schizophrenic? I call this realistic.
Do you even lift(fuck) women?

Shouldn't you be dying in a trench in Ukraine for your glorious leader Putler?

Baldur's Gate 3 looks very juvenile to me .
But I played the old games when I was 15 and I'm an old man now. So perhaps it's just me that has changed.

I know but it seems like that's just recycling of some remnants of original idea for her.
During Early Access, there was never any hint of this, iirc.

She's really not edgy enough to be a companion. All the companions - save Minsc and Jaheria, who were written by Bioware and not Larian - have elaborate, edgy backstories.

Alfira is just some random Tiefling who mourns her dead master. There's not much to resolve there. The offer for her to join the camp in the Durge storyline is just an excuse to get her close to the player and away from prying eyes.

In a way, he's right. None of the companions are actually gay. They're all "playersexual", which comes off as semi-straight until you trigger their romance option.

He's probably just looking for a reason to complain though.

I can't tell if Codex actually likes the game or hates it, can anyone summarize the codex consensus?
I am sorry that I didn't spent 12 years in this site sweating and being a fat polish nerd so we can be on equal footing. Go fuck yourself you nigger, being newfag is apparently synomous with not being a deppressed cunt who can't enjoy anything. Thank you for this honor

RE: The rules of 5E - concentration does force you to use the best spell possible all the time, in exchange for no ridiculous buff stacking. To me, both of these things are bad design due to obvious reasons and I'd just remove long lasting buffs entirely in favor of shorter lasting ones, so you wouldn't be able to stack so many even if you wanted to. Or if you want to, you need to dedicate multiple characters to stack buffs on only one person (in combat no less). Having no restrictions on multiclassing means having access to some zany and broken combinations even at low levels (*cough* 2 Bard/2 Cleric Light of the Dawn spam *cough*). On top of everything, Larian removed most of the limitations or straight up buffed certain abilities, so BG3 is even less representative of 5E. 5E is not a bad system and it requires only a few house rules to get right for what it is.

RE: None of the companions are actually LGBT - that's semi-correct. Out of all of them, I'd say only Karlach is a lesbian and Astarion and Halsin are both bisexuals if we take away their playersexuality. Being LGBT will inevitably have an effect on your personality, worldviews, history and behavior, and outside of these 3 none of the others ever come across as anything other than straight. As for polyamory, only Minthara and Halsin are "truly" polygamous, but the former is literally a war criminal and the second is a barbarian who says relationships are for city people.
