As for polyamory, only Minthara and Halsin are "truly" polygamous, but the former is literally a war criminal and the second is a barbarian who says relationships are for city people.
Minthara forces MC to choose same as everyone else, although her triggers were hellishly bugged for a long time. I also vaguely remember seeing some testimonies how she threatened to murder romanced MC at the brothel if he uses services there.

Halsin is both bugged and horribly written - he manages to sexually harass even those players who barely interacted with him. Better to kill off ASAP, same as Karlach. Game is better that way.

Halsin and Karlach as M/F versions of the same character. Interesting perspective. I can see it.

Both reek of fanfics so much more that I strongly suspect the hand of the same author. Both are very late additions too, so chances are they were indeed delegated to the same catch-up writer on the project. IIRC it is admitted fact that Halsin is self-insert and author was very happy that he got a chance to write into the game how (even romanced) Shadowheart was all horny for him.

Damn it, I feel disgusted even writing about this shit.

I wouldn't rate them by whether they reek of fanfic because all of them do. If we are judging them by how they are written as-is, Astarion is probably the "best" written of them all.

The game has 0 replay value.
People who disagreed with me: Please explain where the 15683 different choices with different outcomes are.
Protip: You can't.
The lady frog alone gives enough replay value

Asstarion is outstanding writing. Those are the kind of well-depicted three-dimensional characters you want. Phaggots are a thing and if they want representation respresent them as they are not how the suits want them to be.

If Gale is fanfic that's a pretty self-aware fan, which suggests it isn't since fanficcers can rarely afford much self-awareness. I don't do the "romances" so don't know what those dialogue trees contain but the rest is a compelling character who talks big because he feels small. The neediness reflected in actually eating magic items is a nice mechanical tie-in to his theme.

Chinese/Nork Juche Githgirl is pretty on point if sterotypical. Maybe we don't know enough about that culture yet to reach much depth. Maybe they don't themselves.

As Fedora Master has noted the game in its current state hasn't held my attention long enough to make it to the end of the character arcs but what I've seen of SH is a hot chick (which we noticably didn't have since gheymergate) trying to escape de-generacy without admitting to herself that she is. I'm fine with that.

Wyll is blackwashed aristocrat trying to do the Prince Hal thing which was once a common theme before the Soyertards decided to just lean into being a snob.

There's a reason why the game is popular. I can spend time with these people.

Story is bad so there's no pros there.
At least for Act 1, what is the story? A worm in your head. That's it. The first 30-50 hours of the game is about a worm in your head.

How do people say this "story" is good?

Note that I could have finished saving the entire world twice over in Final Fantasy 4,5,6 in the same amount of time BG3 is telling me about mind worms.

Name the best story ever written.

Once you've seen it, you've seen it. Narratives are not really replayable, good or bad.
You can replay the Kotors as the opposite alignment and get something out of it.
