tentatively PoE1/2 in certain aspects
You're not being serious right now.
I am. PoE works very well in certain parts of both games. Just not all the time, unfortunately. BG3 is mangled from the start because of the befuddling changes Larian made and completely breaks down the moment you get Haste.
Ok I'll explain why right now.

You see there is PoE dev blog, where Sawyer shits, moans and ovulates about how to make martial classes, especially fighters, fun(as in doing more than just running up to enemy and hitting him) without turning them into "weapon mages". This is of course a fair question. Now Sawyer "fixes" this problem by adding various modifiers and couple of active skills, in effect making them an in-between between the IE fighters and "weapon mages", except it's also rather abstract and operates on the internal math which just doesn't make it very fun.
Now Larian has a similar problem, except they're tied to D&D(in DOS1/2 they just made weapon mages). What do they do? They just add shove, throw etc. as actions to their game, since fighters and other physical classes have high strength(which is used to scale the effect of these actions) this is enough to make them, fun, useful and combined with the encounter design these really have endless use-cases.

What are the "befudding" changes again? That jump is a bonus action instead of normal one? That "mangled" it from the start? Also it's funny how you go on endlessly about Haste, but also say that somehow DOS combat was so much better. DOS combat that devolved into CC spam that had to be "fixed" with armour in DOS2. What I find completely ridiculous is that people find flaws in the game that they would just completely ignore in every other one, simply because 1. it managed to be successful 2. it's woke af. My beliefs on the latter can relatively easily be deducted and they're not positive and the former is just I guess some kind of instinctive gatekeeping, but again has nothing to do with the game and all things considered out of all the 3 major "revival" dev studios Larian(others being Obsidian and inExile) was simply being more competent throughout the last decade or so and they deserve it all.

Just stop guzzling Swen's cum and use your brain for a moment. POE combat despite all its issues, and I'm one of the bigger POE haters here, is still infinitely more complicated and interesting than BG3 combat. That's true for 99% of RPGs that are not 5E based, and even other 5E based like Solasta do it better because as I said, it has the novelty of flying and wall walking, etc. that carries the encounters for a short while, before ultimately also getting boring af.

BG3 combat is cast bless + haste -> rightclick everything to death, or use any push ability to throw the enemy into some conveniently placed pit that's there in nearly every harder encounter. That's it. For 100 fucking hours. It's literally DOS2 but with all the cool shit taken away and nothing new added. Character building in this game is more casual and streamlined than Diablo 3, and itemization is probably the worst in any RPG ever made, like did you ever actually get excited when getting 10th magic item giving you "momentum" charges or lightning charges or whatever? Fucking seriously? First POE had insanely bad itemization, one of the worst ever, and it looks like a stroke of genius compared to this piece of shit.

The mechanical/combat side of this game is completely undefendable.

This is why I laughed at your first post btw.
Did you actually play BG3 and Solasta, or are you like Grauken and just suck Swen's cock for ideological reasons, despite not even wanting to play the game yourself?

Please go open BG3, cast fly, see what happens. Then do the same in Solasta. Then once you realize how absolutely fucking retarded you are, come back here and apologize.

There are not one, but two whole lists of changes, most of them bad. The biggest ones before getting to Haste that trivialize most of the content is every character being able to use scrolls, *all* potions are bonus actions (instead of only health potions which is the most common house rule), you aren't limited to 3 magic items per char, jump is not only a bonus action but also makes your character jump out of environmental hazards (f.e. Spike Growth) without taking damage, respec is ridiculously cheap and you can do it very early in act 1 (meaning you can respec on an encounter-per-encounter basis), there is no component-based spellcasting (so everyone can cast anything at any time), the bonus spell/cantrip rule (i.e. you can only cast a cantrip if you cast a spell as a bonus action) isn't implemented, and you can prepare spells whenever (not just during long rests). This is without going into class-specific changes or itemization.

I like PoE and BG3. D:OS falls off midgame. BG3 might too (never made it past that). There’s a lot before that.

Oh no. Not the awards show that only tells you which game is the most pozzed. At least BG3 only got two awards.

Why are you celebrating that this is a degenrate pozzfest? What are you going to do next? Pay money just to slurp down loads of cum at a Belgian brothel?

Im genuinely surprised when someone says "I have never met a gay person before " in 2023
But well done for this insight and revelation. Its good to understand when something is not the big deal some people make it out to be
You do understand that homosexuals represent, at best, a mere 2% of the United State's population and that number is relatively consistent across most developed nations?

Yes, it's surprising that someone would not have enough friends, acquaintances, family members etc. to know a kind of person who makes up 2% of the population. About the same number as redheads.

But then again this is the codex, so perhaps it's not surprising after all....

Did anyone who is "smashing" BG3's combat play honor difficulty?

I made the game tolerable by not using haste, not using hold, not shoving with a high str char, not using combat consumables except hp pots and running on fumes as much as possible. Occasionally I would try to solo fights with my char.
Iron man in a long game with high rng means using everything to try turning every encounter in a controllable snorefest. How would that make it better?

You can still do tinman.

Nothing snorefest about Ironman. That shit will drive you insane.

I like to try to keep Elixirs up which minimizes rests somewhat. Is fixed Haste still really broken? It ties up the Concentration of a caster who could be controlling the battlefield instead. Not that hard to get stuff dead in good time without it.

That isn't how the math works, but it's way higher in younger generations anyway because of course it's entirely natural and not at all a social contagion.

It is still broken because a) it allows you to cast 2 spells a turn and b) it's hands down the best use of Concentration in every possible scenario because of it (summons don't require Concentration in BG3). On top of that, there are potions of Haste you can chug as a bonus action that don't mess with your Concentration.

So you can tie up one caster so another one can double-cast? Isn’t that just running in circles?

The pots are ok but pretty short duration and not endless.

Felt more fun and not appreciably worse to let my main caster use his Concentration on something that directly affects the fight. It’s what he’s good at after all. Bloodlust Elixir was good enough on main damage dealer.
