Screw Swen. From all the feedback durge will be likely the most played origin anyway.

The vast majority will try to "redeem" the dark urge tho. Most people are averse to do evil playthroughs i suspect.

He could just say “this is not suitabæe for beginners” or other PR speak. What He gave was another reason entirely
If Durge is about fucking over other people, it would be more impactful if you first know who the other people are, what are their wants and needs. That way you know what it is that you are breaking.

The way he phrases it, it sounds like his argument might be that it will be more interesting seeing a lot of background stuff about the villian and his origins once you understand the entirety of the story. In fact listening to it again, I'm fairly confident that's what he means.

Become God of Murder or die trying. But maybe not on the first playthrough, I'm still wondering.

That was my initial plan, but after Sven's interview on the dropped frames stream, i'm going with a custom "traditionally" good character, Sorcerer/Warlock multi class Drow.

Second playthrough, the Dark Urge, Assassin/Gloom Stalker, Dragonborn (the default white dragonborn shown in the stream looks awesome), where i will be as evil and sadistic as possible.

That is what I am doing. They claim it can be done and I am trusting them.
If Durge is Bhaalspawn, that's alright and traditional for the series. If Durge is Bhaal, that's haram and you are going to get smitten by a higher power for doing it.

I see... I really didn't find this info anywhere.
Sneak Attack in Baldur's Gate is an ability. Its a separate button from the default attack. You cast it like a spell.
Are people CERTAIN that you can only use it once per turn?
Since Larian has implemented it so bizarrely, it *might* be the case that you can do it multiple times via haste or action surge since, as you say, it is implemented as an actual combat verb you can choose as your action. You SHOULDN'T be able to do this, but Larian has thrown a lot of basic rules of the game out the window.

I was thinking about it, the one thing which would make me abandon the durge playthrough would be impromptu acts of animal cruelty or child murder.

I know there is kicking that squirrel to death at the start of the game but it is an intro event and hopefully isolated. If PC starts killing good bois or even cats without my consent than that is it for me.

99% guaranteed to happen. Easiest and cheapest way to shock the player, no way they passed the discipline check to not add it.
Maybe the owlbeast we see in Act I? Maybe some "lost dog" quest. And there's a few places where you can just be dumb evil and break a child's toy or something.

I'm not so sure. In fact I think that won't be the case. They are not such edge lords and 99% of people playing this wouldn't enjoy it, even the sodomite pervs or psycho wymmin(who mostly own pets). But yeah, I have no desire to watch/play such stuff, just like I don't want bear gay sex and other such stuff they have in the game but can be avoided.

I will wait for more spoilers I suppose.

Your dialogue options:
  • Fuck the bear.
  • Cruelly kill the bear.
Pick one.

What with simple "be a friend with bear"?

friends with benefits maybe (first option)

anyway I considered first doing treehugger playthrough but then I realized there are not enough companions I want to bring for 2 playthroughs so dark urge only run it is. I might do another 1 later depending on how good the game is. Its probably fine to see how dark urge destroys everything and then try to prevent that for second playthrough

This is one game where I would be very weary of bears and shapeshifters in general.
