Looks retardedly overpowered.

Has his drawbacks too. You are very weak while exposed to sunlight.
Is there even any reason to ever be in sunlight in BG ever? Stealth gets a penalty during the day, so that alone makes playing a night objectively superior. There's also some traders that only show up at night. Only reason to be out during the day I can think of is not getting the vampire encounters at Athkatla very early when you're too weak to handle them.

Only a detail about the "shadowcaster".

Some spells are more powerful? Yes. Disintegrate on the shadow version inflicts -2 penalty and revives the enemy as a wraith to serve you for few rounds.
There are spells which are weaker? Yes. Shadowblast, has way less ratius than a fireball capped at 10d2 + 10d2.

In general, direct damage spells are weaker but all other spells stronger. But you are not the unique "shadowcaster" with the mod. The place where you fight the shadow dragon on Shadows of Amn for eg, has a epic level Shadow Adept boss which was not easy; Remember that you must spend HP, Max HP or CON to cast shadow magic spells, which can kill you.

I liked this mod cuz made magic more risky.

That modder creates some crazy mods. I tried the Assassin class and it was pretty interesting. I suppose if you want a change from the traditional game, and you install a load of mods that enjoy breaking the rulz, and you wanna play the EE, then I think there's some good content here. Probably some of the best that I've come across.

Doesn't hurt that the modder can form sentences in the English language as well. Unlike certain previous writers at Beamdog.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
The worst thing about the EEs, the new NPCs, can easily be removed with a mod, so I don't really see the point of this.

Also from what I can tell, they didn't add this option from the EE, so... eh.

3q0pguyc8ds1.jpg

Which means? Easier to switch weapons and shields, which was the one good thing about the EE?
Unlimited Hand off slot: (EXPERIMENTAL, alpha state)
Allow fit weapon/shield in hand off slot even when item in main hand has restrictions to hand off.
You can drag to hand slots for example two hand sword and shield, but shield will be disabled.
Option usefull for switching between main hand' weapon slots, if selected item has no restrictions, hand off slot will be activated again. If you save game with incompatible items, you can't load it if will uninstall this compenent

That aoe indicator is 100% pure decline. The game has friendly fire and shipped without the indicator, it’s intended to be part of learning the ropes. Once you play a bit you can get very very accurate with AoE spells, which gives a satisfaction not matched by just having the game tell you where an effect lands.

Plus, with the original lack of an indicator, it really made the “only affects enemies” property of some spells especially important. The AoE indicator lessens the risk of friendly fire, diminishing the value of those spells.

TLDR; it’s popamole garbage making an easy game even easier, you should be ashamed that you celebrate it here on the codex, decline-enabler.

have a nice day,

The AoE indicator is truer to PnP, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EE is great indeed, smooth scrolling + zoom (which is a must if you use high resolution). i made an install of TEE (BG1+2+Expansion) + almost jokingly i installed 110 mods on top of it (using that database tool which automates and fixes a ton when it comes to which order its supposed to be installed in).. i did however only take mods that seemed fairly interesting, but i also was expecting it to be like a 50/50 chance of me just breaking it completely. I think i'm around 100h in now, still works like a charm.

720p is the ideal resolution for IE games.

Also, EE games have the black border of death. The most disgusting immersion killer of all time.

But can you use mprilla's SUPERSCRIPTS with the EEs?

720p is only ideal if you have a screen which is native 720p, which no one has. 720p on my 2K screen looks like shit, blurry etc. you need to use the native resolution to make it look crisp.

No idea what a black border of death is? This is how my game looks:

You have a screen with bad resolution scaling then. On a good screen (even 4K, as is mine) running the game in 720p looks crisp and nice. On the other hand the scaling algorithm of EE sucks ass and the game looks blurry as fuck when zoomed in. That's my biggest gripe with EE, along with forcing you to use the desktop resolution.

From my experience most monitors have bad scaling, at least it never looks as good as native.. the exception is my OLED TV which i sometimes use from my bed, it's awesome. I compared EE and the standard, standard does have some things that i do think look somewhat nicer (grass in some areas for example) on the other hand the smoothing does look quite nice on other things and just comes of as very aliased on the standard.

Protip: go into your graphics menu in the EE and enable/disable these options.

This'll bring the graphics closer to the original as much as they can be in your native resolution (including removing those hideous outlines on the characters above). Unfortunately disabling "allow scrolling out of bounds" doesn't remove all of the black borders for some dumb reason, there's still one at the bottom of the screen.

Disagree about the outlines, but yes (i kind of dislike the outlines close up, but i never play that zoomed in).. just think they make the characters pop in a nice way..

Give that poster a cigar!. I expect this will work with the original BG trilogy mod, but that always irritated me bacause we got BG2 spawns and not the original from BG1. But I assume you only need to install the quick weapon stuff and the rest is optional. I don't know if the previous poster had taken off the black outline on characters, but the EE still looks like an abomination, even without all the other technical problems its got.
