Eight. Years.:lol::lol:

Why not just ship the dev tools with the gayms like Todd Howard does?

It's highly unlikely they spent the last 8 years making this game
Considering how game dev works and reading from the wikipedia article, what probably went around their offices was something like this:

-it's the final months of 2012, Witcher 2 EE has been released and Witcher 3 entered production almost a year ago (dialogue was already being recorded by this time)
-so CDPR started looking for their next big project after W3
-last year Deus Ex HR had come out with a good amount of success and also maybe some of the higher ups were fans of the Cyberpunk PnP system, so the choice was made to make a Cyberpunk open-world rpg
-so they get into talks with Pondsmith, a deal is made and so in their excitement they cook up a teaser trailer and upload it in early 2013 to impress both the industry and investors
-in the next 2 years however CDPR is pretty much just focused on getting Witcher 3 out, with perhaps only a handful of devs talking with Pondsmith for ideas
-2015, W3 is out so they can now properly start working on CP77, but there's still alot of updates, DLC's and 2 Expansions planned for the next year so they relinquish only a small part of the staff to work on CP (50 acording to wikipedia)
-Blood & Wine releases, so finally all hands on deck can work on CP77
-But oh no, not yet, to achive the scope they want their engine must be upgraded, and as such at least a year was spent making RED Engine 3 wich acording to the wikipedia meant alot of parterships
-in the meantime the concept artists start designing the assets and the city (apparentely they even hired urban engineers to help them with that), and script writers plan the campgain
-so it's like mid 2017 and only now they're making the game proper
-for the next year they cobble up enough stuff together to make a gameplay demo for 2018's E3
-around which time they approach Keanu to play Johnny Silverhand (so only by then was the script in a somewhat finished state)

So all and all this like what?
2 and half years of actual development?
What a fuck up...
Skyrim 2011 release the next one is still not out 7 years and counting, GTA 5 2013 release , still no sequel. Pretty sure when those launch many will be disapointed too . It very well possible they spent the last 8 years doing it ,but probably with not the most skilled guys , fresh from the universities graduated , them coping with overpaid higher ups inflated ego and probably some crunch and sexual harassment to boot . Old neckbeards who knows how to do things, and quickly ,cost far too much and they went to work at google anyway . That's why those companies are so valued, you underestimate how hard it is to get those AAA games out.
Sequels to skyrim were Teso, fallout 4 and 76, and they are currently split between Starfield and TES6. Sequel for gtaV was rdr2 and now they are working on gta6.

His theory holds up quite well.

For me everything is clear about CP2077 - it's moslty servicable-to-mediocre game, at best.

Any thougth?

yeah i wonder why microsoft still hasn't given someone the shadowrun IP to make a AAA shadowrun game. they own obsidian and arkane now it's such an obvious think to give the ip to either one of them.

i just checked the official subreddit and it's still on fire, shitting on cyberpunk has become the new cool thing to do/meme of the week. zero discussion about characters or story. i wonder what cdpr is planning to do. their reputation seems to be on the line now. most bugs will probably be fixed and that alone will be a huge task but what about AI and the general janky feel of the game. can that even be fixed? i tried calling my cyber gf judy to go for another round of clam jousting and i can just ask her the same three questions that i asked her before the whole romance questline began, no additional dialogue. that really sucks because i thought this attention to detail is what made cdpr so great, or at least that's what i've always heard. can they just get her voice actor back in the studio for some more dialogue? i highly doubt it

Arkane is working on their ugly shitty time loop game and Obsidian on Skyrim 2.

Comparisons to Fallout 4 are really interesting because I actually think this game is way, way worse in terms of its dialogue than that game. Yes, that's right, Bethesda do roleplaying dialogue better than CDPR. I mean FO4's story was an utter joke, but at least I had choices in my dialogue. I'm torn between having tons of fun sneaking around stabbing people and then losing my shit at these stupid dialogues with Johnny.

Game has a lot of choices both coming from gameplay and dialogues. Most of dialogue choices are not choices at first glance and very rarely they give you straight we go A or B like in other RPGs.

Moreover instead of giving you list of 20 different choices and read through whole 10 minutes of dialog without doing anything they split those into small parts and input a lot of fake choices so that you never know where real choice comes (other than mentioned above). Often times dialog that at first glance doesn't mean much provides major change. The blue "exposition" lines also are sometimes used to hide choices. Most of the time they give you extra info but occasionally suddenly you go into separate topic which turns out with "gold" lines suggesting you are moving conversation forward. So by going sideways sometimes you don't even know that you already choose something.

I am yet to play multiple play-troughs so i can't comment on 2077 implementation of that. But i played TW3 which worked exactly the same. For example in Tower of Mice quest Keira wants to go with other mage papers and go to novigrad, you can say to her that if she is hunted she can go to Kaer Mohren to bunk there and wait off people hunting her. She directly declines you suggesting that this choice didnt't have any meaning but 50 hours later where assault happens she is at Kaer Mohren and she explains that she was halfway through but decided on a whim that she shouldn't go there. If you didn't suggest her that she would go to novigrad and you would later see har being burned. In the same quest you make deduction about ghost hounting tower and onlky if you examine something along the way there opens up suggestion that this might be very nasty ghost and she should be killed, without looking at some stuff which doesn't give you anything explict choice in dialog uou can be completely oblivious to what will happen next. Moreover not ending that quest in the same quest you also can talk about mage papers which Keira wants to take away and if you force her to hand over she just looks annoyed but nothing seems out of order but your suggestion toward moving to Witchers keep will not make here go there anymore. And if Keira is in that fight in wittcher castle then Lambert survives which naturaly means there is one less body to burn.

So in whole above quest you mostly have 2 choices every few sentences over few minutes and you can see clearly that none of consequences are easily seen by your. The whole ending of TW3 depends on very minute things that never seemed like a choice that would matter. This is basically their way to force you to roleplay instead of look at cost/benefit which choice should matter, consequences rarely happen instantly.

So far the only thing i noticed from nomad playtrough in that style by watching some stream is that part before and after Mealstorm gang. If you listen to corpo chick not as nomad there is slight suggestion that they have a mole and corpo chick thinks that guy was mole.

If you play nomad you you can suggest her in "nomad" blue text exposition that you think they have a mole and you know a thing or two about convoys and security and that you can help them. Corpo chick thinks for a while but then declines suggesting this was fake nomad choice. After mealstorm you can again bring up corpo chick that you can help her via nomad but this time i think gold option which suggest that blue text was not just exposition. She again declines suggesting it was in fact fake exposition again.

But i was watching stream of that jock i mentioned in other post and that Corpo Chik gets offed for her failure and dude who she beat up takes over and arrives instead her at end of mealstorm quest. That guy outright asks you to help with mole problem because you suggested it. The jock guy playing declined so idk what happens after it but seems like TW3 system is alive and well.

i did nail one dude in my game tho
to the cross lmao
rip brother joshua

That quest pissed me off just because the "wrong" way to finish it involves fighting a bullet sponge cop in an area with no cover while normal cops teleport behind you.
I pulled it off eventually but quickloaded since that route is just bad improv.

This song is actually pretty good.
Yeah, that's the one. There's a cello version of that theme that plays during one of the main missions that's even better. Have had that one stuck in my brain for the last day or so. Shame the rest of the CP soundtrack doesn't live up to it.
Sorta reminds me of the Crones tune (Ladies of the Woods) from W3 which I always thought was one of the standouts of that ost. Similarly haunting.

Do you have a link for that version?

Yes, the Crones theme was great. The Witcher 1 remains the one with the best sountrack, though. It is truly unique. Everything after it felt a little generic and too Western.

I had no expectations for the game and I'm already disappointed with it. Like I originally predicted, it is just a cover shooter action-adventure game, where I know first-person-shooters with more complex combat. It looks like this one just isn't meant for people who don't enjoy popamole. It really just isn't worth my time.
Inanitron was full of shit when he said "This game will be more of an RPG than Witcher 3".

Saw a video mention that it uses too much VRAM for the 2060 at high settings, even at 1080p, so try lowering textures or something.
I checked and Geforce Experience already lowered the texture quality to medium for me. Setting the max fps down to 30 made it last much longer.

i wonder if cdpr plans to do more cyberpunk games after the multiplayer thing is out. will there be another big singleplayer cyberpunk game in 6 years from now or has the backlash been so big that they will just milk the witcher for all eternity? 8 million preorders alone, so at least financially it would make sense for cdpr to keep making games with the IP. how much will the bad WoM kill the games legs, how many people are going to refund their game now?

Your first mistake was using an Nvidia card post 1xxx.
I got it pretty cheap and it did play every other game before this one. From how the game isn't interesting at all, it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Just finished the game, doing almost all side quests and gigs too. Had the Nomad ending (with Panam), which fit well with my Nomad background.

Overall, decent game, but definitely not RPG. It's an action game like GTA or Watch Dogs, nothing more and nothing less. RPG elements were superfluous mostly.

The funniest bug I had was when my char lost his penis after wearing some pants and since then I became a tranny. Panam questline bugged out on me too, so I couldn't romance her and had to bail out from the fireplace, leaving me only the gay romance possible. I guess CDP kinda fucked me there.

It's a fairly interesting story with some good quests around, although it has its highs and lows. Gameplay was disappointing though with its mediocrity.

7/10 overall.

So how many times you finished game and how did comparing different quests choices ended up ?

I feel like the plot goes downhill after konopeki tower.

It does take a dive down but it picks up there is one particular quest in main story which is highlight so far of the game for me and much better than anything in prologue.

That's the shit.

I should probs give the W1 ost a re-listen, cheers.

Music indeed is amaizng, i noticed that most of quest music never really repeats at worst you get just different sounding similar theme but overall you get something different each time. Speaking of radio music there are few good tracks but a lot of it is in different styles which obviously won't fit every head needs. Refused as Samurai grows on me witch each listening and both versions of Never Fade Away are bangers:

Btw how do i turn off nudity ? serious question
Stop playing, one of the marketing gimmicks was literally "look you can be a woman with a dick" and "look in this game you can be American and have a foreskin".
i know this game is full of woke shit, thats why i didnt support cdpr. But i heard you can censor nudity scenes. Is there a way?
Is having a foreskin considered woke in America? I'd think of it more as a power fantasy.
