Jesus Christ some of these side-quest gigs are about as dark as you can get (Dirty Biz) - coupled with the excellent "doomy" synth pad stuff, the immersive effect is quite remarkable (analogous to the "Vertigo effect" in cinematography).

As for that fucking monk - ungrateful little shit :)

Nice that I'm still discovering stuff on my third char. Even though I'd done a ton of exploring with the other 2, there are still huge areas I haven't even touched.

I forgot to say this before, but the idea that anyone can just disable your implants with a snap of their fingers, because apparently network security does not exist in this world, is just so incredulously inane. If this is something that would pose such vulnerability, the chip(s) that are responsible for control of implants would just become completely isolated from any wireless communication.
It is something that Todd Howard would come up with. "How can we put magic into this sci-fi setting?"

Network security exist, you are treating net-runners as grass it seems but in lore they are elite and they are main defense against other net-runners. Moreover we are talking about world in which you can be born without legs and get fairly cheap leg replacement.
There are basically no one that is not modified in some way. Personal link also is kind of security which V often stresses out about.

And 99.999% people out there will never get hacked. So your argument is like that of car safety or knifes in kitchen being used to murder someone so no one would have knives in kitchen.

That's nonsense though. Across 40+ hours and from release through 1.04, I've only ever looted one dildo - and that's a quest reward. But you look in any drawer in even a motel and it's not gideon bibles overflowing onto the floor. The only other display object in buildings as common is that stupid maneki-neko.

Vavra has spoken:

I can understand this. He is speaking from not only enjoying the game but also from the experience that he too created a Huge Game and pulled it off.

I still see where this game was torn apart then put back together to the best of their ability because the Music Directing is all over the damn Place.

Night City has no Theme of it's own that creates any emotion, going to a ripper doc has no theme of it's own. There is a lot that could have been done. It's not the composers it's the Director and the Director of Music.

Your room has no Music.

To many story elements and sequences have horrible music directing that do nothing. There lost opportunities and it's rather sad. I would never agree to it.

It will interesting to see where this game is in a year. This is a Brand and I highly doubt it will be over with one go. It's a Brand that will grow in time.

I got sort of a Alter Carbon vibe but I think there is so much that can be improved. I am sure they will in the coming years improve everything.

Their Reputation hangs on this! I only saw 10 hours of Game play from MKiceandfire youtube and my observation is from that.

I laughed my ass of checking out Twitter Cyberpunk2077 bugs. PS4 and Xbox looks like PS1!

There's some grade A shilling in this thread. It's actually quite remarkable.
What do you mean? Going by this thread, it merely has the best writing ever, is a better Deus Ex than Deus Ex, the best graphics ever by unfathomable amounts, gameplay beyond perfection, bugs that are only visibile to 'haters', suddenly amazing 'nigger rap' and so on. It's the best at too many things to list. Simply the perfect game.

Pandering to trannies and SJWs was also just a big ol' joke by the based pink-haired Americans that now work at CDPR. They catered an entire game to their Twitter 'friends' and themselves as a joke. Obviously.

We're witnessing the magic of a tiny amount of consumer-friendliness a decade ago and Poles desperately falling over themselves to prop this up as the greatest thing ever. Quite the sight, but it's merely consoomers consooming their flavor of trash food.

One thing you should realize is there are a lot of companies in the world that wished they could create something like this.

Give you an example one of the biggest companies in China is trying to create a game like this. China really has no creativity unless it's Traditional China.

Think of this game as Lord of the Rings. When LOR came out everyone in the Film business wished they could have thought of directing a film like that.

Lot of people Used LOR has a template for trailer music. Most of them forgot about Legend.

It's sight to behold to see Codex is being more possitive about this game than subreddit about it.

It's because pessimists only have pleasant surprises. The more you get into it, the more pleasantly surprising it is. Still a mess in some aspects obviously, but you can definitely get some fun out of it if you have a high tolerance level for AAA games, and if they sort it out it'll be very good in about a year, though probably never stellar. (But chances are they'll just tidy up the worst bugs and move on to this multiplayer shit they're talking about - how they think they're going to manage to squeeze lots of players into it when it's already struggling with all the NPCs, etc., is a mystery to me. But maybe in a couple of years? I dunno, it's rickety enough as it is without having lots of live players in it too.)

I'll tell you what it is actually. All games have some balance between two kinds of immersion, or between two kinds of trance state. The gameplay trance state and the virtual world trance state; the engagement with systems and challenges and the engagement with a sense of "being there" in another time, place, etc.

No game is completely without either of these two forms of immersion (or whatever one might want to call them), and no gamer is totally without some feeling for both, but developers weight their games one way or the other, and gamers' preference are weighted one way or the other.

CDPR have always been better at the "being there" sense of immersion than the gameplay sense of immersion. And while most Codexers probably weight more towards gameplay, those of us who weight more towards "being there" immersion probably find this more congenial than those of us who weight more towards gameplay, so with a game like this we're prepared to cut it some slack if it's good at the thing we weight towards, even if we know that objectively it could be much, much better in all ares.

It's as simple as that really.

WHERE'S MY KARMA SYSTEM AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SAVE ME TODD HOWARD
Karma system was not created or even used by Todd Howard, you idiot. It was used in the original Fallout games, not in Todd's Fallouts.

RPG is a good progression system and C&C.
Character progression has nothing to do with role-playing. It's perfectly possible to create a role-playing game with no character levels/progression, every skill/talent/perk/trait etc. can be chosen at character creation and such a game would most likely be much more realistic and have a much higher replay value.

Also, why do people keep saying "bullet sponge enemies?"
If it takes at least 4-5 shots to take down an unarmored enemy with your basic gun, that enemy is called bullet sponge and it's exactly the case in this game.

....bugs that are only visibile to 'haters'...
Just to address this, as I'm one of the people in this thread who experienced very few bugs and already stated as much:
When I say that I experience hardly any bugs in my game - I pretty much mentioned the few I met - that is just a statement about how I experience the game while I play it. This statement doesn't imply that other people don't have bugs. I'm not other people and don't have their systems to play the game on.
When I ask why other people with much better systems than mine experience that many bugs, it's curiosity, not incredulity. If I had experienced as many bugs as some of those reviewers, I would have refunded the game (would be possible without hassle in my case). I'm just happy my game just works for the most part.

Nonsense, bullet sponges are enemies that take a lot more than 4-5 shots to take down. Most bosses in most games are bullet sponges by design - although some developers go too far with it (e.g. Destiny). The vids way back in this thread just before launch showed a bullet sponge effect - lots of shots, lots of headshots especially. I suspect those early vids were made by trolls just using early weak weapons against later level mobs, because that's not the experience you get while playing the game.

As to progression - progression is essential to the gameplay side of RPGs. Most people wouldn't be happy with a game where nothing improves. You want to feel a sense of growth and development, like a successful life in miniature. At the same time, a good progression system has meat on the bones for people who like to think deeply about their builds and weigh up multiple factors, min-max, etc.

Yeah can we talk about how much better the motorbikes are than anything else? The best bike in the game is cheap as shit (22k) looks awesome and is faster than anything else, as well as being more practical for parking up etc for missions and getting through traffic. There is really no reason to bother with cars in this game.
I mean, it -is- cyberpunk and thus according to the gospel can only be traversed either by walking, motorcycle or flying car. Such is the word of the machine messiah, hallowed be his RAM.
Besides, you can never find a fucking parking spot for a car anywhere in the city (as it should be) and the traffic will just completely stop if you leave it in the middle of the street because of the almighty Traffic AI. If anything, one grave point of contention for me is that there aren't more bikes, only 4 or 5 models total, when this game is in dire need of more. Especially a Faggio-equivalent.

I was still fuming from
Fucking thank you. I knew it wasn't just me. Scripted chase sequences are bad enough but that piece of shit pickup handled like a boat trying to do the sea is lava. Jesus wept. And then got ham- etc.
