Hotfix 1.11

Hotfix 1.11 is now available!

This update addresses two issues that appeared after Patch 1.1:
  • Item randomization has been restored to the previous state.
The save/load loot exploit will be investigated further.
  • A bug in Down on the Street quest has been fixed.
It occured for some players during a holocall with Takemura, when using a save made on version 1.06 with Down on the Street quest in progress at "Wait For Takemura's call" objective. After loading such a save on version 1.1, the holocall would lack dialogue options and block interactions with other NPCs.

i thought the fixed stats for items was a first step to improve the shit looting system and make it more fun and satisfying to find new guns. turns out it was just a bug and cdpr wants the looting to be like a shitty borderlands clone. thanks cdpr, you guys definitely have your priorities straight.

the biggest one is a little over 10G

Packed by their compression choice. Imagine for a second all of those textures that are packed that use high compression ratios are changed into much lower copression, same with audio and other assets.

Make no mistake they could do it by "chunks" but this is mainly GOG problem and their patch system not really game as each platform has its own patching methods. Personally with my 1Gbit/s connection it would be faster for me to download game 5 times than to patch it.

Yeah this is an issue with Galaxy, it needs as much as the full installation space to apply a patch.

As much as i like GOG for its DRM free stance and games, their technical side is lacking quality (not only Galaxy but their site has a lot of issues all the time).

What difference does the compression make? The files are not getting unpacked during patching.

A well implemented delta patcher doesn't need to copy literally every file it changes, especially not at once. If you actually go look at the game files, the biggest one is a little over 10G, so at the very least you could just copy them one by one and only waste 10G.
Or maybe every patch functions as a mod - you download a packed file, and when the game is started stuff in the patch's dir takes precedence over vanilla files.

Any undocumented bugs this time?

The save/load loot exploit will be investigated further.

I don't appreciate their wording. Calling it an exploit is condescending when there's no reliable alternative to simply reloading and rerolling stats. Persisting with shitty rolls in the name of "self imposed single save file iron man with both testicles glued to a cactus challenge" is the very definition of autism. On the other hand, even on the highest difficulty you don't need the maximum number of possible upgrade slots filled with Armadillo mods AND numerous other mods don't even work properly. With the upcoming updates, they (CD or modders) should:

1. make non-Armadillo mods useful and add some flair to the whole thing, maybe add armor mods that synergize with cyberware
2. tweak and document the armor system with its numerical and percentage hard caps and all, instead of making armor just a magical number that reduces damage received so that Timmy Consolecuck whose favourite childhood game is Fallout 3 or Invisible War doesn't get confused and intimidated.
3. maybe always grant maximum number of slots based on item quality, instead of tying it to RNG.

And people have discovered that less than maximum number of slots are caused by a hidden, built-in mod called "Me-thrill" with negligibly low +armor bonus.

This is where things get interesting. If the itemization is really built with single player and the upcoming multiplayer in mind, perhaps legendary items with less than maximum upgrade slots aren't merely caused by clueless junior devs or a case of miscommunication. Perhaps it's exactly what they intended, and the upcoming multiplayer game will be chock full of unoptimized "legendary quality" junk to steer people to completely optional™ lootboxes full of this sort of RNG (and quite possibly DRM to prevent fuckery) thus good loot will be just around the corner.

Are all of you people retarded? That's how most games those days are patched.
So? It's a malformed practice to store assets in giant niggerbite archives and it's anti-consumer to make user free 70gbs of real estate and redownload huge parts of the game for a minor mesh and texture alteration.

Why's updating using GOG Galaxy such a massive shitshow? Downloading is a breeze but after that it pulls the brakes HARD. Is it because of bullshit like that, where despite being 13% of its game size the patch covers 51% of its files?

A mod that allowed players to sort of have sex with Keanu Reeves' character Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 has already been disabled by CD Projekt Red.

The mod, created by modder Catmino and hosted on Nexus mods, allowed players to swap skin textures onto different models in the game. By swapping Johnny Silverhand's skin texture onto one of the robot sex workers (joytoys) around Night City, players could have sex with what looked like Silverhand. Swapping textures would do nothing for the robots' voices, and they remained clothed, so the mod wasn't exactly a great replica, but it garnered enough attention to be reported on by Eurogamer earlier today. Soon after that post was published, the mod was removed from Nexus.

In a statement to PC Gamer on why the mod was removed, CD Projekt Red said: "Our most important rule regarding user-generated content, game mods in particular, is that it can't be harmful towards others. In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077." Basically, they don't want modders putting Keanu into NSFW situations he didn't sign on for.

CD Projekt Red went on to state: "Therefore, when making fan content, creators have to make sure they've got permission from all the concerned parties (which might be people other than CD PROJEKT RED). For the characters we've invented for the game, we broadly permit you to tweak the game at will and just have fun. When it comes to models of real people whom we've asked to participate in the game, we kindly ask you to refrain from using them in any situation that might be found offensive if you don't have their explicit permission."

After all the other controversies this game has faced, it's probably not a bad move to keep players from messing with real likenesses too much.

Why didn't they simply ask then? It's not like every celebrity is protective about their public image :troll:

In case anyone cares about consoles - Digital Foundry released a video yesterday reviewing the performance on base consoles after the patches. TLDR: it's still shit. :)

How sad is it that people are closely analyzing and zooming in and slowing down and all that crap for what is essentially a Pentium 3 trying to run Crysis.

No surprise there, if they really had mad significant progress, they would have hired a good looking twitch girl and streamed it 24/7, instead of adding one singe line to the patch notes. I expect no signficant progress on consoles for months.
