Almost nothing is tied to daytime actually many quests are set during the night and majority of the rest you can do at any time you want.
Aside from sidequests with specific start times, the only gig I remember needing night time was the cyberpsycho ritual in Watson. Which I thought was a bug when I couldn't find it on a second char during the day. :hahano:

I did notice some missing scripted random encounter dialogs at night tho. Like the gig with the tape for a cop has a Mox daughter near his apartment telling her father she rather chokes on cocks than chemicals like her mother. Wasn't there at night.
OMG meaningful day and night cycle confirmed!

Well, or it bugged out, always an option in this game. :hahano:

Are there similar things OUTSIDE Watson? Watson, especially while on lockdown, feels a bit like a press demo area for those "I played it 4 hours and it's awsome" streamers before release, where they put a lot more effort into things not present anywhere else.
Like one gig area becoming an "organized crime location" afterwards, to make the world look more dynamic...

Spot on. I've reset my progress on the game 5 or 6 times because the first act in Watson is better than what comes after. The district itself has unique landmarks like the market, 3 unique clubs, favela, chinese district, factories, docks even highways used in quests. Honestly the game could just be located in that area alone.
It was the most developed district since 2018s change of plans infavor for muh keanu after all and it's all what was shown during E3. So, in their usual pace, the devs would need another 10 years to finish other five districts. With crunching.

The Engram is just a copy of memories. Is that enough for a person to 'live'? Or 'be'? Alt says it best, Johnny is Data now, code. She can read him as easily as a programmer can read their screen. V becomes data, and is flushed back into his rotting body.

They dealt with this in SOMA, too.(...)
You are, once again, putting more thought into this than the devs.

The game doesn't really bother with exposition in those places, but, I don't know. I wouldn't be that critical of it. When it comes to elaborating on in-universe sciencemajicks and explaining them, you can ruin things easily. (see: Metal Gear Solid 4/5)

It's been 2 months since I last played CP2077, but I appreciate that... eerie, understated shadow of a doubt that the story and endings give.

The interface looks off. I know it's a default CyberEngine tweak interface but c'mon, it looks alien when quest logs and dialogs UI are not from the vanilla game.

A fucking savegame to cut gigs. Complete with voice acting. Really makes you think about what was done in the last minute.
BTW, Witcher 3 only got its gameplay systems and most question marks done in the last minute. Unlike Cyberpunk 2077, where the only developed part is Watson.

These are a compilation of save games that feature some gigs that were cut from the game, due to missing AI implementation, bugs or just simply for use with later (DLC!?) content.

If any of you wish to play through the cut gigs, use braindance protocol to give yourself better stats. Alternatively, you can use a save game editor if you want to change gender/lifepath.

Name of the gigs and playability:

  • Gig: Hothead - Playable, but is very glitchy. Most likely can not be finished, has AI car chases.
  • Gig: Nasty Hangover - Playable from start to finish
  • Gig: Concrete Cage Trap - Very Playable from start to finish, feels complete.
  • Gig: Desperate Measures - A little glitchy, but can be played from start to finish.
  • Gig: Unknown - Move your player a bit, and it takes you to a cutscene with no dialogues. My guess is this is supposed to be a braindance. Not a gig (ed. Me)
Note: If you drive a vehicle then switch back to first person view, you're going to have the third person mesh of your face/hair sticking out. This is unavoidable.
Enjoy!

BTW, not sure if it was posted here already, but I found this video to be really excellent:

(not that it makes up any excuses for the shitshow with bugginess etc., it mainly focuses on writing and worldbuilding aspect, including i.e. why questions regarding engrams etc. are not really answered)

Some more reactivity I found while replaying the game if you visit the serial killer farm before River quest V already knows the location and you can skip all the clue gathering.

what a shit "review". the dude is clearly obsessed with cyberpunk genre and giving exaggerated "meanings" to anything he saw in the game: walks up to an NPC, who reacts with "what do you staring at?" and this dude is like "such aggression, everyone's reduced to human version of animal instinct" lmao

I respectfully disagree, though it seems you had watched it already, which is greatly appreciated. Still, while I somewhat agree with that particular comment, I don't find it to be a focus of this video at all, but rather a subconscions, hm, "empathy"? for lack of a better term.

So, for me, I don't really find that guy to be "overanalyzing", as for me he does present a believable explanations to many things (i.e. why questions of souls/engrams aren't that elaborated upon, vs. explaining other in-universe mechanics in greater detail).

At the same time, I also don't see how he's pulling shit out of his ass, and if he inspects something closely, it's because there are clear indicators for it to not be an overinterpretation.

Yeah, there are a lot of such things from my experience as well, both with that game & TW3. The saddest part is how (well, it is fitting in the Cyberpunk genre ironically) corporate greed ruined everything, pushing out an early access title essentially wasted THAT many workhours of effort of rank-and-file people went into this.

In retrospect, I kinda foresee CP2077 to be like V:TM-B; except 1/3* as deep (still a respectable feat for an AAA 2020 game, mind you) and 50x as ambitious: "the most overhyped game that had to be every game at once, and to the surprise of nobody in restrospect, failed"

Because it's not like the rest of the big leagues industry is going to pick up the slack, like, ever, just as they didn't after Troika. Hell, what was the last time we've seen anything resembling a GOOD RPG from big leagues; Fallout: New Vegas? 11 years ago? This might've been just as well a very sad, and kind of pathetic in a way, swan song to it all.

*a rhetorical figure, obviously and objectively it has to be lower than that, though intricately connected to the scope of the game itself.
