Also pretty easy to miss:

REDmod are official modding tools that will be released for Cyberpunk 2077 with 1.6 tools. We already knew about bunch of modders behind Wolvenkit for TW3 and C77script tools being hired full time to develop modtools for C77. Moreover like mentioned in patchnotes game will get officially mod support via in game menu as well as differential patching which is pretty huge news.

I really hope they will knock it out of the park this time. TW3 tools were basically non existent and without that team of modders work most of tw3 mods would be A LOT harder to make.

from steam descr:

Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Tools
Download REDmod — the official Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Tools — to modify and create your own experiences in Cyberpunk 2077. From custom sounds, animations, scripts, and much more, these tools will help you leave your own mark in the dark future world of Night City.
How REDmod works
REDmod allows users to create mods for Cyberpunk 2077. It can be used separately in the command line, or integrated through into the WolvenKit mod editor. We recommend using WolvenKit for the best experience and ease of use.
REDmod will be constantly updated alongside updates for Cyberpunk 2077 to ensure ongoing compatibility.

Surprised that they seem to be trying to No Man’s Sky this game. I had figured they would just cut their losses and move on to Witcher 4, but I guess that between the time we’ll be waiting for that and their desire to make Cyberpunk a franchise they’re going to do their best to regain trust. Nice to have a modkit again at least.

So, not only do you open your videogame PR event with an anime trailer, you open it with an anime trailer that looks and sounds like shit. Yeah, that'll put people in a good mood for the rest of your event.

The Edgerunners Update (Patch 1.6) is live on all platforms!
Oh, well, I guess it was getting time for all my mods to break, I'll set a half day aside for a full reinstall next week.

V won't continuously fidget in Character Creation anymore.
Well, at least they're taking feedback on board, I'll give 'em that.

Added a Cross-progression feature between platforms. Your latest saves will be automatically uploaded to the cloud so you can continue where you left off easily on other platforms.
Yay, datamining!

Expanded the telemetry functionality to cover mods-related data.
Yay, datamining!

REDmod allows users to create mods for Cyberpunk 2077.
:takemymoney:

We recommend using WolvenKit
:keepmymoney:

So, this REDmod thing, it's just for making mods? But you can still use mods made with it the old fashioned way, you don't gotta sign up for their Super Fun Telemetry Experience thing just to use the shit, right?

P.S. This new Codex word filter is amazing.

I'm a bit confused though. Is this supposed to happen before or after the main storyline's ending? If it's happening alongside the main storyline, wouldn't it conflict with Arasaka's control over the city? Or is it set outside Night City?

I grew attached to the world they created so while I reserve judgment on the quality of content I welcome the idea of more of it
I kinda envy people like you. Looking forward to something like this.
I wish I was 15 to 20 years younger, perhaps then I could find the intrigue that seems to be there for some people. The world seems like it could be an interesting place with interesting opportunities, but all I can get out of it - aside from a few "DX-lite-style" gigs that also do get repetitive after a while - is something akin to a handsomely decorated cake made out of tasteless grey gruel.

Anyways...
is that you, father?

Alongside main story. Looks like this will lead to new ending and some conflict with Arasaka as Militech goon. From video it seems that Pacifica will be finished and fully explorable now as in video there is Pacifica stadium.

My question is more about how it ties to main game. It will suck if this will be just standalone story rather than expansion of mainline choices and story.

This is much better news than that trailer: they released the mod tools with which new animations etc. can be added to the game. This is the only hope of Cyberpunk reaching its full potential.

They will only be useful if they allow modders to create new locations and interiors, and new animations, or to inject new quests and modify existing ones.

With the current history of CDPR mod support I'm not too hopeful.

Maybe it has nothing with your age and more with you reading leaks before release and immersing yourself in communities whose sole purpose is to shit on everything and everyone. Just a thought.

Fixed an issue where vehicles went in reverse when braking at low speeds.
I usually never care for bug fixes, but this one was getting on my nerves a lot. I feel great relief.

Yeah, fuck those console peasants!

But in all seriousness, the game has been improving already. It just can't live up to the unrealistic levels of hype some people STILL hold on to, so every patch is proclaimed as ineffective.

Like expecting good RPG elements and impactful choices in an RPG?
You decide the fates of:
- a mayoral candidate
- a whore house
- a world champion boxer
- a collab between musical giants
- the ex-boss/boss of a gang (that entire quest chain has impressive levels of reactivity)
- a tribe of nomads
- a legendary fixer
- a legendary CEO
- a legend

just off the top of my head. Do you need some alignment system for good and evil for it to feel impactful to you?

They shouldn't even have made the game for the 8th gen in the first place
When will people ever learn that cross-gen titles is asking for trouble...
The game announced before even the PS4 Pro was announced. The 8th gen consoles were the target and only available platforms for the lions share of the development. Hell in 2020 it was not even certain that the 9th gen would launch due to all the lock downs and chip shortages. Making it a 9th gen only game would not fix any of the bugs or bad design decision but it would also piss off the vast majority of potential customers who were promised a PS4 game only to be then told to buy it for the PS5 which at the time was about as available as real estate in New York.

Had they done that the game would not only be critically panned it would also sell precisely nothing and whatever damage it caused to CDPR would be quadrupled in the aftermath.

The first two are fake. Whatever you do, Peralez always wins. And whatever you do in Judy quest, the whore house stays just as before or worse.

That is the point. Locations and interiors probably will still be problems to sort out but everything else seems to be now possible.
As for scripts and quest it is already possible.

edit: interiors seems to be possible now.

The quest mod seems pretty basic, and got released before the mod tools, and the interiors don't seem to be new, but unused content, or at least that's how I understood it.

Hopefully the DLC will be buggy as shit to compensate for the previous patches removing the only thing that made the game somewhat distinct from the usual open world algae. (Assuming there's still no de-RPGfication mod)

After some initial play testing games seems to run smoother and NPCs have more new looks. Also some enemy spawns camps are new. Will have to watch the anime show to be able to discern which secrets actually pertain to the characters, since the game is so big you can never be sure the secret you just found isn't actually an old one.
