There should be an option in the settings to turn off all the vids and warnings. Problem solved.
You made me look again - I use No Intro Videos and it gets rid of all that stuff and the first spacebar, but you can also add the -skipStartScreen parameter to dump the second spacebar. I know CET has options for that stuff too, but they didn't work when I tried them.

cdpr should just cut the entire first act, it's not finished anyway and fuck the city being blocked off
Uh... that's a... novel solution to extraneous spacebars.

Decided to buy the Ultimate Edition in the GOG sale and have a second playthrough....

Thought I'd try the download and install via GOG Galaxy. My god, what unmitigated fucking cancer this platform is. Their "cloud sync" option is utterly fucking broken. Turns out I have over 500 MB of saves from an old, high seas version still on the HD and Galaxy will only sync a max of 200 MB.

200 MB. In 20-fucking-24. As an added bonus, under these circumstances it won't even launch the game. OK, so I turn off the cloud syncing option. Game launches once OK. Exit back out, then on subsequent launch attempts it tries to perform the sync even when the option is unchecked. I backup and then delete a load of the old files to get below the 200 MB limit. The game then loads and syncs the files, but after which again says I've gone over the 200 MB limit (which is bullshit, it was 160-odd) and now the previously local saves are classed as "cloud" saves and it wont load them.

Even if you got this mess apparently working, how could you ever trust it wouldn't eventually decide to bork up and lock you out of your saves 100 hours in?

Whoever is responsible for this platform should be executed without trial. Uninstalling this turd, then will have to download all the standalone installer files AGAIN to do a local install.

Jesus wept.

Yeah, the cloud saves are broken. I recall having a problem with that like two years ago. Imagine my shock that it still isn't fixed. GOG Galaxy in general is terrible--nice idea, poor execution. The app's in a perennial Beta state, last I checked, and boy it showed.

Heroic works quite well for GOG games.
