I quit playing MM in early 2016, shortly after the rank reset. I came back to it when COVID started and it was hell in NA, but then I just set a VPN to EU and got to Global within 2 months while playing on 100-120 ping, you don't know pain until you played NA MM before the recent rank redistribution.

I also laugh when EU people complain about Russian teammates. They don't understand the pain of getting mexicans/south americans, they are 10x worse than Russians.

Also, how the fuck are you winning with those stats? Who is boosting you, or are you the luckiest solo q player of all time?

Solo q only, pure luck, I have no idea. I don't even use mic because I have too much anxiety most of the time. I play maybe a dozen games a year, I just don't have the mentality/patience/attention span to grind anymore.

Also on cheaters, in 2022 I had exactly 12 games, and 2 had cheaters. It has gotten better since the hellscape of phone number Primes in 2020-2021 where every other game had a VAC, most of those accounts are banned now.
They removed human Overwatch recently, so you're just relying on VACnet now if you report somebody. I think humanised aimbots that only toggle half the time are just going to go totally unnoticed, but we'll see.

FPS is alright, about the same as CSGO. Feels about as smooth, but vulkan mode sucks since it doesn't support exclusive fullscreen, only borderless.
Loading times are 100000x faster.
new buy menu sucks ass and occasional memey offpicks like negev/swag7/autosniper is just going to disappear now, terrible decision for casual gameplay.
netcode feels good (to me), im hitting deags as well as i ever have, which is mediocre

nobody cheats on LAN, it's impossible now. the real scumminess is in shit like money laundering/gambling/match fixing which is widespread in T2

In CS2 what you click is what you get, basically. The game takes a snapshot of time (subtick) the moment you click on a head and then next tick it will compare the subticks if the enemy also shot, and whoever shot first (or missed) will get a kill or die. Two issues with this: Subtick means that your gun animation is delayed until the next tick update, even though where you clicked is exactly where the bullet will land, when in CSGO the animation was instant, even though the shot will register in a random window of time between 1-15ms. The other issue is that it can mean dying behind walls and the perception of there being peeker's advantage if you play on higher ping.

It's just modern lighting instead of having Source engine desaturation and lighting black holes in every corner. Turn down your brightness because that setting carried over and put it at 95% or something.

The only change made is the buy menu, everything else is the same. CSGO had all this shit too with the character intros since agents were added. I agree cosmetics are cringe and that Valve basically operates a casino, though.

It has been a while since I put any time into GO, so jumping into 2 for a few hours I barely noticed any difference. Felt mostly like the same game only more fresh. Pretty good.

In your loadout on the inventory page, you have to drag and drop the guns from the bottom part of the screen into your loadout.

I haven't checked the numbers but you seem to end up A LOT poorer when you lose rounds in 2 than you did in GO. So far I think the limited loadouts create interesting scenarios in combination with this. The only thing that really hurt to cut out for me was the MAG7.

The loadout selection page is absolute garbage.

Counterstrike wouldn't have become as big without CS:GO. The merging of Source & 1.6 scenes coupled with skins is what made it what it is today. Changes are needed sometimes, it's still Counterstrike at the end of the day.

Why would you want to use the R8 though? Worst gun in the game, so fucking miserable to use compared to deag. It wouldn't be worth it compared to the P250 or 57 even if it was $500.
Not that I disagree that the buy menu change is so fucking bad. Only good thing is that you can get rid of the worthless Famas or scout or whatever and put both the M4A4 and M4A1 there, but other than that it adds fucking nothing. In organised play the pros will have so many slots they will have all bases covered and optimised to be ideal, it just fucks the casuals who play MM for no reason.

Because CSGO was a mile deep in technical debt and bullshit on the outdated Source engine that they couldn't really possibly wrangle to make prettier or fit future content in without a lot of work.

CS2 was a massive disappointment and I'd have rather have had new active duty maps, better casual modes, better anticheat, gameplay changes to buff the old forgotten guns to a reasonable level, or a new gun. As it is CS2 is just a minimum viable product, a smoke update that killed performance and removed 2/3rds of the content. The three employees that worked on this shit can get their performance review bonus from releasing it and then get back to their hard, hard work of releasing an Operation of rehashed ideas in 3 years and rolling a dice for tacky Workshop skins to add to their slot machines.

Scout isn't that worthless, not as worthless as famas, tags are valuable but for a lot of players who aren't good with snipers it's simply not going to be any more effective than deagle, galil, mp9. There's a reason pro games go by without a single use of the thing.

The reason being they're a team with set roles. It's always good to have a scout on hand in a pug, unless you're absolutely terrible with it.

Famas also isn't that bad, and I choose it over an MP9 sometimes if I'm playing a position where I know I'll be taking mid range duels. Good first bullet accuracy/bursting and it's a great option (again, in pugs).
