Cannot speak for PvP but in PvE the hit feedback largely depends on the weapon, large weapons hit just right. I have more issues with odd reach issues and depth perception occasionally.

P.S.: And I 100% guarantee that it is much better than weightless no impact bullshit animations of DS2 (doesn't apply to halberds tho)

I think it's a netcode issue personally, tho I don't know enough about these things to make that conclusion with any confidence. All I know is that often people roll/backstep/walk out of range but I still hit them when I KNOW it shouldn't have. It doesn't help that weapon attack animations have range that isn't very obvious to tell.

Preference and taste and blah blah. Enjoy what you enjoy.

Armor: doesn't matter I wear masters rags (well, except head, see below)

Equipment
Washing Pole +10 (2 handed)
Shield of Want on back
Symbol of Averance (switch or not after beat boss, I go in wearing it)
Medicant Staff (switch to quickly when boss is beat.)
Silver Serpant Ring.

70 to 80 thousand souls every 3-4 minutes fighting Champion Grundy.

Not a bad return on time if the scrub summoning you doesn't die.

As soon as I drop my sign I am summoned.

I started a new character and immedieately beelined to the mound maker covenant because I missed it in the first plsythrough, didnt invest a soul level yet. Put my summon sign down right at start of undead village and get summoned constantly by people who are very clearly new to the souls games. They wave and cheer at me probably thinking I'll help them clear th3e level. I usually kill 4-5 npc enemies and then backstab the host, sometimes they run away in panic. This clearly feels like such a fucking dick move  and I pity them a bit

Is there a way to gain ranks in mound maker without this dickery?

What is Untended Graves supposed to mean ? A "what if"/alternate realty where the flame expired because that Gundyr fella failed in the quest ?

If thats so, then why is Gundyr guarding the original firelink shrine ? Does that means he is just another hollowed in our reality ?

It appears to be the past. Since if you have a certain item you find there and talk to Ludleth of Courland he will talk about it. But Untended Graves is a very strange place. Speaking to the handmaiden raises more question then there possibly ever will be answers. But I suspect its From soft saying that no matter the ending you choose reality or the world itself will revert to a time before than choice was ever made. With the fires always being linked. And if not then it reverts to another reality and time until it is. With the Untended Graves being a sort of pre-rebooted world.

farron greatsword

wuz wrong with dis one?

it was flavor of the month the week and two after release.

it's not actually that good (weird scaling, uninfusable with quality gem) but the moveset was obnoxious because you could do that spinning sweep over and over again as long as you had the stamina for it. this lead to people putting all their points into stamina and just spinning and hoping they hit you. this tactic doesn't work against anyone with ranged options, but if you're melee only, it's just lame to fight against.

Something is wrong with this game. When I quit and I return to the game, certain enemies respawn even if I don't use a bonfire. It's happened twice now. First with the transforming hollow that transforms to that abyss monster and now to these giants in undead settlement.

The only good boss in the game is Nameless King and maybe Greatwood Tree, the rest are absolute garbage.

What was so great about the Greatwood Tree? I barely remember that boss. I just hit it in the balls (with a halberd) until it died. That was the first time I 1try'd a souls boss since pinwheel.

I really enjoyed the Abyss Watchers and Gundyr, but I can see how playing faith or int would make every boss an incredibly tedious rollfest. The most efficient way to kill any boss in this game is to use a poking sword or straight sword, and hit it once and roll away. I rerolled as a mage, but it's really frustrating to be 10 levels overleveled and still do piss damage, or fight a boss using only farron darts because every other spell has too slow casting time.

I didn't like so many shit bosses, Deacons, Wolnir, Yhorm... The Wyrm was actually kind of fun, since i don't think i was a boss really.

So, the invisi-roll ring is fun. If there's lag, sometimes they remain invisible for a few seconds after their roll. You stay locked on, but can't see what they're doing.

Unrelated, anyone know what the guy in a cage is about in the undead settlement? He's near where you join the mound-makers, on a small ledge behind a house. He says something about nana and grandsons in an incoherent tone.

Do you also think that phantom range is more ridicolous in DS3? we need less lorefags and more pvpers in this thread.

Not sure yet mang, only about 15 hours in and so far I'm going slow and testing things -- haven't had too much experience with many weapons yet so it's hard to judge. The game didn't really catch me the way 1 and 2 did, so I'm going p slow -- about 2 or so hours a day at most. I guess I should start reading up on some of the game's stuff, it's always a pain trying to figure out how shit works in a game that does fuckall to explain the specifics.

So far, the hardest thing is telling what is phantom range and what is just plain old lag. I'm seeing a lot more stuttering/jarring people and I don't know if that's cuz the game has shoddier netcode or if I'm unlucky and getting Australians/etc.

EDIT: I will say tho, the healing is buuuuuuuulllllshit. If they kept it in for all, at least make this shit slow like in DS2 or interruptable like in BB.

EDIT 2: Electric Boogaloo: Invaded some faggus who casu(a)ly reads r/shittydarksouls named 'burnie cinders' -- not a single pyromancy used. Didn't even feel good when I spammed 2h bandit knife at him.

Ok. I beat cursed greatwood. It wasn't a good boss fight, it wasn't even a fun boss fight. It was a giant gimmick and it was annoying trying to hit its stones. The only good part was the spectacle. I liked how the arena changes after you destroy its nuts, the bottom arena was more to my liking than the infinitely respawning hollows.

I like the ease of joining a covenant in this game. No more need to teleport back to a covenant to join just because you want to invade or be a sunbro. Now, it doesn't seem though like theres much to covenants this time which is disappointing.

I used the transmutation thing to get this greatsword. Its pretty useful and does good enough damage but doesn't seem optimal for this strength build I'm trying to make.

I really like some of the new enemies, like those beasts that transform after stabbing themselves. The crabs look really cool even though I didn't engage them. The farron woods area has been pretty interesting. I ran right through the swamp and I was surprised by these two npcs that I fought. Man, they were a challenge, one with a great club and the other with the curved greatsword. They were really fun to fight and their special moves were pretty good. I feel like this was a really good thing they pulled from Souls 2 with the increase of npc invaders.
Too bad, I ran out of Estus flasks and used an ember. Right after that, I just got invaded for the first time and killed.

You need to have between 50-60 intelligence to do damage as a mage.

What makes Greatwood Tree great is the fact that it is not another humanoid boss that just jumps and spams attacks on you. Has several hitboxes distributed around it and spamming dodge does not work, you have to time it very well or lose 80% of your hp. Gundyr was kinda fun and satisfying to dodge but by no means great. At least he's not Sulyvahn/Dragonslayer Armor where you have to dodge for 10 minutes to get 1 hit in. Soul of Cinder was a spammy boss done right and was an intense bossfight on the other hand. Enjoyed that.-+

I can't believe that after a month, people still haven't figured out that grabbing a shield is easy mode for Pontiff Sulyvahn and still try to roll like mad men.

Is it? I tried it 2 times with shield and all he would do is stagger like all the other mobs in ds3. Dodgerolling was much easier

For me it was. For the Dancer too. And it was one of the small shields with 100% reduction. Yes, I got staggered, but could then roll away on time. Of course if you're good enough to roll perfectly in the first place there's no need to use a shield...
