4k people on scholar right now; oddly populated given that ds 3 is freshly out -- i figured everyone would be on it instead

Never had any problem invading with Watchdogs or, now, Aldrichs. I get summoned non-stop. Barely have time to get the damn sigil off inbetween to take a break.
I believe the sweet spot for Watchdogs is around 25-35. After that I stopped getting summoned.

Wanna play Pyro and it is quite hard to do anything as that below 70.

Don't really understand complaints or problems with Champion Gundyr. Maybe I just got lucky, but from the descriptions in this thread I expected some kind of unstoppable endless-combo rapetrain, but ended up killing him on the second try with relative ease. He has long combos, but with significant pauses between attacks, doesn't deal that much damage, and doesn't really have dangerous gap closers. I even switched from a Butcher's Knife to a Profane GS to check if a very slow weapon would make it harder, still won handily.

Am I missing something here?
You might have just gotten lucky. He's very random in the way he fights in the second phase, sometimes he'd be barely changed, othertimes it was constantly him whipping around for kicks and grabs and shoulder charges, and hitting me with lolrandom rocks of utter cheese.

Watchdogs seems to be something you should be no higher than 25ish and no more than +2 weapon upgrades to get consistently.

Why must SL for pvp be so low, can't make any fun builds with that. Just fucking one-handed spam.
It's still early. Eventually DS1 settled around the 120 level for PvP. No idea about DS2. I doubt many high level people are bothering with the auto-invade/regional PvP like Watchdogs and Aldrich.

So basically Sunbro is the only way to go.

Just beat Dancer. Goes into one of the best bosses category in DS games as well as before him that mage.
Weirdly first time i fought him i basically was one swing away from defeating him but then died like 20 times before i managed to beat him.
Most problematic was that 3 slash combo in second stage because it looks like anything and can go from anything. His spin looks mean but it was easy to roll away or hide behind pillar.

22 hours in and I just beat tree. And then discovered he's optional, and the total bastard ice knight is blocking the way. I finished him by a double kill.

Actually I think he's kinda optional too, and you probably could sneak around him...

So while in firelink, i had a fog gate go up and close the entire area off. Then it just randomly went away. Anyone experienced that? I was offline btw, and I doubt there's an npc invader in there.

It's a trick the devs use to cut down on loading times. They only load in the inside of the shrine so when you're just warping back there to use the vendors it's faster.

Watchdogs is just the noob zone tho. There's another invading faction later on that works p. much the same way. I had plenty of duels and 2vs2 there at around 75-85.
