We need an UN investigation and subsequent report on the harmful influence of Darkwood on online communities.
Wow, I was really excited to play this and I boot it up and it has... SNES graphics. This game was made in the 2010s. WHY DOES IT HAVE RETRO STYLE GRAPHICS!? FUCK. OFFFFFFF.
I know, right?
Darkwood gets showered with praise, yet the graphics are about as good as Grand Theft Auto #1.
I played it for about 10 minutes, and the sound was cool (features a creepy echo effect), but the top-down graphics are total shit.

Is Darkwood worth getting into once you get past the beginning of the game?
...you guys are too autistic to realize myself and United Nations are joking with eachother? I mean we are bashing each other for sure, but it's in good spirits.Obviously the game brings out in the worst in people. We're only a couple posts away from rape threats. Which is incline, honestly.
I'm joking too. I thought the last part gave it away. Although I do actually believe rape threats are incline, in some contexts....you guys are too autistic to realize myself and United Nations are joking with eachother? I mean we are bashing each other for sure, but it's in good spirits.
What the fuck is this shit?
Well, they finally revealed their next game...
Kid soccer tactics is kind of a neat idea, but I'd be lying if I didn't say how incredibly disappointed I am that this is what we've been waiting for as a next game from Acid Wizard Studio. Especially for how long it took.
Edit: Actually no, it's not a neat idea. It just fucking sucks.
old football anime
The game may very well be good for what it is and genuine, but Darkwood puts them firmly as modern masters of more elaborate game design in the making and it is such a shame to steer from that path
We spitballed ideas for new games and after a while came up with something we codenamed The Prisoner:
The game tells a story of a political prisoner trapped inside a factory-turned-prison, in a fictional Eastern Europe setting somewhere in the 80’s. The game would have you trying to survive the harsh reality of a place like this from a first-person perspective, with a unique gameplay twist. Your character has a very sought after talent in a place like this - he can draw sweet tattoos! There was supposed to be a whole language of the symbols that you would draw, and knowing what to draw, based on what the “client” wanted, his allegiance and the crimes he did, was part of the game. All of this combined with elements of survival, exploration and many friendly faces to meet
So you see, even though we’ve drifted from Darkwood a bit, we’re still very much into making very atmospheric projects. Alas, the subject matter of prison life was not a good match for most of the team and we’ve decided to move on to something else.
Welp, they're done.
Guess it's cool we're getting a final Darkwood update out of the deal.
Maybe it's for the best...
