That's objectively false. Diablo 3 is NOT a natural progression from Diablo 2 at all.
hold left mouse button while the numbers on your gear get bigger and you get dripfed dopamine
Maybe diablo immortal was going to be one of those AFK phone games or tap screen really fast.

Hmmm no not this

I'm surprised Codex doesn't agree with that statement though considering the direction they wanted to take Diablo after 2. That was current day decline way ahead of the time (the shitty concepts behind hellgate and marvel heroes, including monetization).
Hellgate London flopped so there isn't much to talk about. Other than agree that their "vision" just wasn't good even for the general public. That said, I have to say I have some respect for people who are capable of pulling away from the company and dare to follow their dream, because they aren't content just collecting their paychecks.

David Brevik, former Blizzard co-founder and Diablo designer/programmer will not be streaming or buying D2 Resurrected.

Likely due to ActiBlizz's horrific reputation these past few months, but that's just an edumucated guess...
Doubt he would've done it even without the recent events. Brevik did not have many good things to say about Blizzard.. ever.

Yeah, seems like Blizzard has been a shitshow probably from the very beginning.

"HEH, SORRY GUYS. GOTTA PRETEND I GIVE A SHIT ABOUT UGLY GIRLS."

You aren't grabbing your pitchfork in a bloodlust to CANCEL them ?@!!!

You monster lol just kidding.

I hate "cancel culture" as much as the next person.

They tried that sheeiit when the Ubisoft allegations came around, to no avail fortunately.

The ActiBlizz stuff is definitely way worse though...

There's something about Jay Wilson that is oddly compelling. He looks like a guy that would have a photo out there in circulation being mid-bite into a jelly donut and looking at the camera shocked.

I've even given him his own theme song.

Fan versions are better and I like some of them, but they're just more of a bethesda-style mod beautifications than actual characters. Amazon looks nothing like herself in any of fan versions.

Meanwhile, I rolled more characters in Diablo 2 1.0

a mommyzon with pike. Jab ignores weapon speed, so amazon with 1st level skill armed with rare pike can just waltz into Chaos Sanctuary and stab everything dead. Potentially you could go into chain lightning later to farm cows and get a Valk.

a sorceress with inferno and firewall. 1 click inferno uses no mana, but I still invested all into energy and minimum points (4) into Warmth. domination began at level 12 with +2 inferno staff, and proceeded when I found +3 Firewall staff. the key is to maximize mana (200+) because mana regen formula depends on it. you can get life using simple blue items (fox/wolf etc.).
since there are no synergies or immuns, you can probably change elements as you go through chapters, or stick to 1 element you like. Duriel cooked very nicely. cows would probably smell good too.

a necromancer with POISON DAGGER. yeah some things never change. but I am doing my best: every single point into Energy; 5 points into Corpse Explosion, 1 into golem/iron maiden/bone armor and rest into Poison Dagger. all clothes are min strength rags with +20 life/resists on them. this means at andy I am almost at 200 life and mana both (and can't even lift anything heavier but dagger, club or piece of rags). collect enemies and gang up on one, then explode them, use mana shrines and potions strategically.
a very dangerous hobomancer.

Need a shopping cart for hobos. I still remember my horrible builds when first playing D2. Look. Skill! Oh another one. Maybe this. There's another page? Before I realized there was more, I thought all Barbarians could do was yell. Derp!

This sums that up quite nicely.

I was always conflicted with the introduction of synergies. Prior to them, they made most early abilities irrelevant, if not detrimental. There could be suffering involved to be optimal, but as a caster, I'm kind of used to the long road. Being able to use all three skill trees was wonderful as a Sorceress. Synergies made early skills worth a damn, and not just road blocks/tax. I remember having much more interesting Paladin builds once they were introduced. It's a tough call.

I will pay for this remaster because I'm dumb and want D2 in widescreen on a console. I, however, will not fail to skip every single one of the remastered cinematics because honestly what person above the age of twelve likes that cheesy trash?

You basically tell them that you like it by buying their product.

That model is not too shabby. Charsi is pretty buff in the original and it makes sense if she worked the forge all her life that she is not a light weight. Hair color looks somewhat off but otherwise? One of the few decent models present in the remaster. Still won't buy it.
