Yeah, a FOV slider that only goes up to 85. Might as well not have it
OMG entitled PC elitists are never content. Anything past 90 looks distorted anyway. Can always tweak the ini if you still need more.

^ So far (several missions ahead), there were no repercussions whatsoever. Overall chaos remained low, no crying kids coming to you saying how their momma died and it's all your fault, nothing. As far as I can tell, the game barely (if at all?) recognizes whether you kill the targets or dispose of them in a non-lethal way, either.

Besides, fuck 'em they're poor. Granny'll give you a rune, runes are sweet.

According to an in-game load tip I got, more kills = more plague rats and zombies.

Wasn't FoV 100 the standard in most games?
90 was the standard in most games before the multiplatform scourge came along. I like using 105 in competitive games like Quake, but if the viewmodels don't scale with it (or don't have their own slider, like TF2's) then it looks pretty gross.

That's what really puts me off from the fov in Dishonored - the viewmodels seem to take up way too much of the screen.

He's practically holding the weapons up to his chin! How is this so hard for artists to figure out?!

Yeah but if you kill the quest targets only, that has no impact on the chaos levels as far as I could tell. You get high chaos only if you go berserk and kill a shit load of guards and such.

Is it vertical (uncommon) or horizontal (as in most other games) FoV you're changing?

The game is... okay for far. But it has the consolization curse from the first menu of the game and it only gets worse. It's sad how much better this game could have been if it didn't have to cater to shit consoles.

At least the consolitis isn't as bad as in x-com or borderlands 2. Those games are unplayable.

Yeah, Borderlands 2 I totally agree on. It's just not fun at all, and I have no desire to try X-Com.

I just think it's funny how hilariously dumb the AI is in this game. Unless it gets different later, you can sneak up to 2 guys talking, one will walk away, you can kill the other guy and hide the body and the first guy returns and thinks nothing of it at all.

It's also great how people have absolutely no peripheral vision at all apparently.

I'm only about an hour or so into the game, so maybe shit gets harder later. This is on "VERY HARD" by the way.

Hey guize, how shit is this game??

Wow, I knew this would be a turd, but I thought it would be a pretty turd. MHC's screenies however make me realize how fucking ugly the character models are, and why 3d will always look ugly up close. (unless if it is really well made 3D like Grimrock)

this game is a bit of a joke, barely existent vision cones, teleport all over the map, bodies that dissapear....not that it matters as the NPC patrol routes are utterly predictable.

That's true for 2D as well.

At 10-20m the enemies seem to have 180 deg vision, they alert each other, they never give up, bonking them produces noise, they form seach parties, their positions, routes, and stops vary across reloads, etc. It's not super awesome or something, but it's way better than Thief or pretty much any other stealth game.

They even look up from time to time, which I didn't expect given the game's gimmicky reliance on the vertical dimension.

Jesus, I read the last paragraph of a "review" of this shit today in a free news tabloid in the bus from work. It got praised to heaven. The reviewer thought himself to be quite radical when he told his readers to "not mind that this isn't a sequel of a great IP... please play this game." Unbelievable.

One cool thing in this game is that you can look through keyholes. Sure, it's rendered useless by the first power you can get that lets you see through walls, but you can see some funny stuff sometimes, like granny rags and her "birds".

It would be better if the only magic in this game was possession, and it had cats you could possess to climb, fall without taking damage, use its "cat senses" or whatever...with all those rats I wonder where the fuck are all the cats.
