I tried coop with my wife, felt awesome, but a bit too chaotic cause we both ran across the town searching for talkable NPCs to get some side-quests and as long our lazy-ass translators didn't make it to the release date, wife was always like "what did he say? what did he say?"

The other thing I was pretty much embarrassed when I got to that giant first city, just TOO MUCH THINGS TO DO:negative:

Probably will wait for translation as long as my wife won't allow me to play the game alone now:smug:

Is this what it's like on IGN and similar when a new Call of Duty releases?

Really don't get thy hype.

If you still need your key from the fundraiser, let me know, peeps.

Yeah, I'll keep spamming this for a bit.

If anyone wants to claim a GOG key on the Larian Vault, be careful:
They reset everything to Steam, and once you hit "Claim Now" you're stuck with Steam. You need to change to GOG again, before clicking "Claim Now".
Thanks, good to know.

I haven't got my key.

Ok, first impressions (this is my 1st encounter with the game):

Made it to the boss of the tutorial dungeon. Fight starts, I quickly kill one of the skeleton archers. The other archer does a critical on my mage for ~30 damage, leaving him close to death. The boss gets in melee range. Thinking I'm fucked, I try to heal myself and kill the other archer with lightning bolts ASAP. My lightning hits a puddle of water which I didn't even notice and stuns both the archer and the boss. I keep attacking them until they die. Boss dies, but comes back as a ghost. Suddenly I'm doing 0 damage to him. After a few turns I thought that maybe he's immortal and I should run away from him or pull some lever or something, so I teleport him away from my mage. He falls and takes damage. "Hm, so you can kill him" - I thought. He just happens to be immune to every spell which I picked at start, except one that does like 5 physical damage. I keep using that spell whenever I can and punching him with my cleric cause I broke her weapon trying to destroy all the vases I came across. After a while I finally kill him.

It's only the tutorial boss and I already found it a lot more enjoyable, unpredictable and challenging fight than all of the "epic"dragon battles in Dragon Age. GOATY 2014 for sure.

Having a blast with this. Solved the murder case and cleared most of the surronding areas near city. There are some really intense fights gave me good trouble. Creating a fog(smoke bomb!) fucking handy when encountring many archers, especially when you 2 fragile mage in back row.
Started with a wizard and a thief. I was sceptical about thief in combats at first but she butchers enemies with backstabs, also charming touch rocks.

Edit: BTW I'm hearing the great soundtrack of first game seldom.

That dungeon was mind numbingly easy for me, luckily it's no where near a representation of the difficulty level. Was just doing the fight with the orcs on the beach and accidentally poisoned some guards during the fight, they turned on me, that whole fight, first with the orcs, then the guards was really enjoyable. But even that isn't a good representation. Once you leave those walls the difficulty steps way up, especially for me since I didn't pick up the companions the first time.

Some things have been nerfed since I played I believe,(Crazy overpowered surfaces for example.) But I'm sure it's still challenging.

It must have been a combination of circumstances - I got critically hit, the ghost was immune to all of my damage spells except the shittiest ones, I started with 2 casters and spells don't seem to do a lot of damage at the beginning, my weapon was broken. The battle wasn't difficult, but I liked it cause all of that shit happened at once. I believe you that the game will get a lot harder and I'm looking forward to it.

Only did the tutorial dungeon and got to Cyseal. Compared to the very first alpha release that I played, things feel so much better. Runs smoothly, UI is generally improved, stuff mostly feels quick and snappy (though animations can still feel lethargic), etc. I know what I'm getting gameplay wise, and I think anyone who played Divine Divinity will as well.

My biggest complaint so far is that the music, while really good and pleasant to listen to, does not seem to be tied to any particular area or situation, and just plays at random as if there is some sort of playlist and often it doesn't suit the mood of the place I'm running around. Still, not a big thing to worry about.

Treading water, but at least it's warm
Played a bit today, just ventured out and cleared the lighthouse outside the city. A question, though, for those of you that are more familiar with the game systems: how does skill progression work? For example, I am leveling up, but I can't seem to put more than 1 point into most of my skills. I have a witch but can't seem to get any of her spell skills up past 1. I'm only level 4 or 5 so far I think. What's strange is I can give multiple levels to things in the personality section, like charisma. Also, I picked up the mage companion, and HE has his spell focuses leveled to 2. Not sure what the deal is.

Overall, enjoying it a lot so far. There are some annoying issues though, such as spells firing through the UI (select a spell, left click a new spell in the toolbar, first spell fires to location under toolbar).

Guys, is there a proper manual for the game? Could not find any document in the installation directory. I'm especially interested in complete spells list before choosing spell schools. Is there a printed version with the physical release?

Did not have much time yesterday, so I progressed only through tutorial dungeon to the city, progressed the murder investigation a little bit and did two fights outside of town. I've forced myself not to play a minute of beta, so everything is fresh for me. I love the combination of serious, complex char development and tactical turn-based combat with totally lulzy writing and dat tongue-in-cheek atmosphere of the game. Will loose a lot of hours in game. I wonder if I still have the girlfriend after the next month or will she leave me to rot before my PC ;-) The combat is so much fun!

I started with customized Wizard + Battle Cleric, but I'll restart with Wizard elementalist/healer + Rogue diplomat/animal speaker/summoner (and Kickstarter items ffs!). It seems that rogue and social skills are crucial for full experience, so I prefer to have them on main chars.

Anyone has experience with AI personalities? I suspect "Loyal" is a shortcut for "personally I think the same as you, master" but what is "Random"? Every time selects random option? Would be fun to assign it to the Scarlet. I really don't want to role play discussions between my two main chars, it's a little bit awkward - especially the R-P-S minigame (seriously that retarded mini-game is the only downside of the game so far).

This is my "biggest" concern so far. I hope this could be fixed easily (maybe with the editor?)

You need one skill point to progress from skill level 0 to 1, but 2 skill points to progress from skill level 1 to 2. Probably the same pattern with higher skill levels. So you have to save skill points on level-ups.

You need to spend more with each skill level, like in M&M games. You need 2 skill points to get second skill level, 3 for third and goes on like this.
Some skills gets bonuses from your characters dialog choices, you can see it at the forth tab in character screen.

Well I selected Larian Vault for my redemption but they've changed it to steam because I downloaded the Alpha ... well that sucks.

Fighting those 3 zombies outside the first town and you gotta be ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥ting me... its probably been 2 hours now that I'm trying to beat them to no avail.

I have a lvl 3 Battlemage spec'd for 2 handed weapons wielding a 2 handed axe, a cleric spec'd for Bows with a bow and a new fighter I just got with a 2 handed sword(not spec'd for it). I start off by throwing a fire ball at em which does a fair amount of damage and causes burning, from then on I mainly try to use minor heals + burning touch on them so that they don't spew the green poison slime which heals them if they're attacked with melee, which is a ridiculous design choice in and of itself for such early game monsters, then just when they're about dead I figure yeah I might as well attack em with my melee, but nope, some "game designer" figured it'd be a good idea to have less than 50% attack chance vs. enemies who are only 2 lvls higher than you, so I attack them, they spew the green goo which heals them and its pretty much GG from there and you might as well reload and try again because theres no getting out of that cycle once it gets rolling.

The game opened up great IMO but if this is a testament to how the rest of the encounters play out I am not impressed.

You will be able to revoke that key and get another one on the vault. Don't know if its possible yet though.

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY D:OS ON GOG, log into your Larian Vault account and scroll down to "Your Rewards in Detail." Find the digital distribution icon and select "Change my digital distribution preference." Following these steps will cancel your Steam Early Access code and provide you with a key for GOG.

atleast for gog, not sure about getting a new vault key. But contact Larian, I'm sure they'll help
