*shrug* Even if you hate dice rolls, it's not like failing an RPS game is game over for you. You can just deal with it.

EDIT: I was replying to the "quickload" comment.

I can't just "deal with it" you shitlord, failing checks is very triggering to me

Me too because CRPG designers suck and like to add binary consequences on top of linear rolls

Surely if I lost RPS by such a small margin the guy could at least concede a little to my point

Or deal with the problem that arose by other means. It did not had the outcome you wanted, so you try to deal with what you have in hand now. I don't like this, but I try to roleplay sometimes, reload others :D

Problem is that "what I have in hand" is usually a pissed off NPC, and my master orator isn't very good at combat since he invested most of his skill points into speech skills.

Shit happens, good players adapt and good designers provide the means

You can adapt to shit happening on combat, but dialogue is different. Unless by adapting you mean getting acquainted with the quickload key

Well last night I failed the persuasion check on that orc outside town.
I thought 'he must be orc, so he picks rock all the time... beat him 3 times in a row, then when the final play came - he started coming up with scissor, scissor, then I swap to rock, bam, he went paper.

OK. Fine.
Fine. You won't tell me where your buried comrades are? BROSEPH KILL THIS FAGGOT.
Then I used my perception to dig up his dead buddies anyway.

In that case you are indeed fucked (or fucked indeed?).

Broseph time to start playing with yourself.
Huehue.
You're almost 18 year old.
You should be old enough to solve RPGs on your own.
I'm gonna try more stuff up in single player tonight.

So that goblin merchant told me she liked flattery and I assumed that meant I could engage her in conversation but every time I approach it triggers an immediate fight. I've seen posts elsewhere on the net where people said they could start a conversation. Maybe because I've already killed some spiders?

bloody hell
i keep restarting this game, trying out new classes. if this continues i never finish it.
reminds me of wiz7 though, rerolling ad infinitum and still not happy with my party:outrage:

I did the same, spent 3 fucking hours just in the beach area. But finally my shrink convinced me to pursue happiness venturing forth.
So what would you do when you finally arrive to tutorial dungeon? Try different builds yet again?
:o Seriously? I assumed that only worked for AoE spells. I'll be sure to try that out.
I found it the hard way when I aimed at enemy archer and hit enemy mage.

I can sympathize. I'm creating an NPC schedule system in my game and

It's actually easy. When someone has some experience with artificial life. Creating working artificial ecosystem is much worse.
Problem is that "what I have in hand" is usually a pissed off NPC, and my master orator isn't very good at combat since he invested most of his skill points into speech skills.
That's realistic.

I never seen a person who was skilled orator and excellent with knife.

I won the RPS game against her, but then she said something like "lol, you thought you could get away this easily?" and attacked me anyway :P

They are, actually. :P

In the meantime, I AM DESTROYING EVERYTHING IN MY WAY. I AM DEATH INCARNATE.

Maybe I really should go with 2 Lone Wolfs next time. :P

Also some of those friendly Immaculates in Luculla Forest give some pretty high amount of exp. They also keep telling you WTF are you doing dude, why r u attacking me until they're almost dead, lol. I luv this game.

And I've never seen a person take seven arrows to the chest and shrug it off because they "still have some HP left", but here we are. RPGs are awesome

:popamole:

*Steve is hit by burning arrow!*
*Calmly walks away and eats roast pig for 72 HP*

Good luck, be sure to min-max, else the AP pool just won't cut it to dispatch tougher bosses.
I had to do the barrel setup a lot of times on those hard ones cause taking them on with just two is hard when one of us gets CC'ed.

Bah, I'm not gonna let some random shit like rock-paper-scissors dictate if I fail...besides, what if the computer cheats?

*rolls dice*

I'd take dice rolling vs RPS.
Because one takes 1 click. The other takes 2-4 depending on your 'skill' level which isn't exactly a great system.
Everyone knows it's shit. Any defense of it is pure nonsense.

Ugh, but the game does have dice rolling exactly for that kind of scenario? It only takes one press of SPACE.

Of course, it's *dice* rolling so you can actually lose, too.

Yeah that's why I said I 'click once' - when I saw the space bar to skip, I'd do it anytime.
There is no reason to do this as the 'dev intended'
Does the space bar account for personality skills?

Guess it doesn't matter then. Was fairly easy despite my characters being two levels lower. Just kept summoning eggs that I AoE'd.

I honestly do not know how it works.
My guess is simply 1DX + Social Skill Mods vs Theirs.

That's called choices and consequences. That skeleton in tutorial dungeon kinda does that as well.
