And I've never seen a person take seven arrows to the chest and shrug it off because they "still have some HP left", but here we are. RPGs are awesome

Actually that's quite common. Of course other problem is how long would he be alive after that. (You could also hear about soldiers/terrorists that were shooting from AK when they were basically torn apart by a 12.7 mm HMG.)

The honeymoon is wearing off.

Apparently now I need to search the whole fucking world for the witch's hidden chest. I'm not asking for quest markers, but they could give me some idea of what I'm supposed to be doing.

White Witch's hidden chest?

It's just in some dirt mound in that first cave you get through the mirror world. Only has random items.

It's actually important to get it? I guess if you don't have pet pal, the way to find it would be via high perception in the witch cave (the one which has all the dead animals).

If you save the piggy in the previous fight you can send it to search for it and it will find it. Its just another secret chest with some green items in it, nothing special. You can find it also if you have some points in perception.

Oh, I thought it was plot-critical. Now I really don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. I've finished the mines and the temple of trials, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do in the troll king's cave or the cathedral.

This game goes on forever. What percentage am I through if I've cleared about 70% of Luculla?

Attention to details in DOS is really groundbreaking, even its shortcut DOS is proper for any old nerd ;).
These small details makes this game atmosphere like in Fallouts or Ultima, im so hungry for that kind of details in any modern open space, and often too empty crpg game.
I only wish to find some older nerds to play with in coop in rpg session style when i finish game story.
BTW we should create Steam group of fanatics who wants to play DOS Coop in hard and climatic style ;)

WTF! Where is the giant multi-level dungeon we were promised? They even showed a kickstarter update of them making it and Swen had to avoid spoilers. I just beat the game and didn't find it. What happened?

For the life of me I can't find any fucking unlock scrolls. Do they even exist? I heard they might. Lockpicking as a skill seems utterly useless/underpowered. Even with four points in it there are still numerous chests I can't open.
They ain't random and don't drop as loot. Only handplaced.

I'm pissed at this, but only a little, cause I'm enjoying the game so much I just can't stay angry. I am however hoping that the dungeon makes it in some sort of expansion pack, kinda like Watcher's Keep in BG2 ToB.

Kickstarter is obligated to refund money if a promised feature doesn't make the game. I think I might be in contact with them and see what can be legally done about this. Promising a feature and then scrapping it is a big F U to the player and backer.

There was supposed to be a giant multi-level dungeon? Well okay then. Good thing it was scrapped - I thought that the multi-level dungeon promised in PoE was a retarded enough idea already, and that was an actual stretch goal. I don't recall DOS megadungeon being a stretch goal, so it's not a "promised feature" really.

The thing I'm slightly butthurt about is Kirill being sick and not being able to take advantage of the Orchestra stretch goal, but that's because I'd love some of the tracks to be more developed, like the violin theme.

The rest, people will mod shit in within 2 months with much more meticulous planning than Larian could have with the crunch times they've had, because people are gonna sperg out all over encounter designs.

Good luck getting support for that, as you can see the apologists are already gathering

From Kickstarter webpage:

"
Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?
Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. (This is what creators see before they launch.) This information can serve as a basis for legal recourse if a creator doesn't fulfill their promises. We hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill.

Will be fun to see PoE's "15 level" megadungeon. My guess is Obsidian will fulfill the letter of the promise--because they're marketing savvy. There will be fifteen tiny, shitty levels, but they will be there.

Larian should have just put ten empty levels in there, then no one would care.

while I am happy enough with the content in the game (and didn't even pledge, so fuck that), saying that you don't recall something and that it therefore is false is a bit of stretch, wouldn't you say?

in any case

the dong that was promised
Ooh, right you are. I actually just checked the KS page and that was pretty much the only graphic I didn't look at, since I was looking at a "We paid for this" bits. Checking back with PoE, I actually see that it was the same thing there - "Levels per thousands of backers", so yeah, my memory was foggy on that bit clearly, cheers for clearing that up.

Also, my point isn't "I don't remember, so it's false", it's "Megadungeons are a stupid idea". Div1 had a mega dungeon right at the start of the game, holy fuck it was great wasn't it oh wait it's the part half of the players stop playing the game at. Hm, well damn, how's that for an enticing feature! Get your grind on in a dungeon full of recycled textures, fuck yeah. If there's anything to bash Larian for, it's for thinking that was a great idea to begin with. Yeah, and Obsidian too.
