Haven't listened to it myself yet.

Jeff and Christian welcome David Walgrave, Producer on Divinity: Original Sin, to DLC this week to talk about understanding what a game developer does, the EVO 2014 fighting game championships, Raiden joining Mortal Kombat X, Tekken 7 announced, Hearthstone: Curse of Naxrammas pricing info, and more.

Then in The Playlist, Jeff goes a little crazy praising Divinity: Original Sin, which he calls one of the best games of ever. Christian tries to manage the slurping, but Jeff loves loving the throwback CRPG in all of its glory. Christian has some memories of Aladdin Genesis that he's revisiting himself, too.

For Tabletop Time, David talks about destroying his friends at Dominion, and Jeff is excited to play the newly announced Spiel des Jahres winners.

All that, plus YOUR phone calls.

1:37:54 Dragonlance for next project confirmed!

Leadership didn't seem to have any effect for my party going from 6 to 7 on one of them.

Lerk the totem revives the skeletons after a turn or two, I think.

Braccus died on first try, and didn't need to use any cheesy stuff. Two-hander crit'd for 400. Now wields the GIANT AXE OF BRACCUS.

The difficulty complaints are just fucking bizarre. I dropped down to easy just to see what the big deal is, and I was plowing through shit. If the game is too hard, put it on "Easy." If it is still too hard, go take up knitting you fucking idiots.

how much pickpocket skill do you need to, say, steal legendary items from a vendor
Can you steal Rare and Magical items? I went to Cyseal and gave myself LV14 and put points to Pickpocket and I couldn't not pick any expensive items even with 5, I put points to Dexterity and maxed it with Pickpocket and still were not able to pickpocket any Legendary or Rare or any expensive equipment. always get caught.

Maybe there's another modifier beside those 2.

Edit:
Yea, I just added in 20 pickpocket which I am pretty sure is impossible to obtain legitimately and finally managed to steal a non identified Legendary Amulet valued 3860 I think. I couldn't steal a similar amulet valued 4100+. I think its based on value and not rarity, I went to Hunter's Edge and couldn't steal common Tenebrium weapons.

20 Pickpocket + 15 Dexterity.

My thanks for clearing that mystery up for me, old chap.

Also a pox upon Sitra Achara for raising my hopes (and dick) for Dragonlance. GOOD DAY, SIR.

It's a goddamn CRPG, difficulty varies a lot by how you develop your characters and play the game

Petrified: Unable to Act

Strange that petrified doesn't have any additional effects. Seems worse than knockdown which is more easily available.

Anyone know if there's a place you can keep an eye out for the patch coming tonight? We're playing now but we're ready to quit for patching

I'm surprised to see how positive was the game's reception on Steam. Expected tons of negative reviews along the lines of "turn based in 2014" or "too hard therefore it sucks".

Also - people, use the fucking spoiler tags when discussing stuff, even if you're just dropping names without going into plot details - or start another, spoiler-heavy thread specifically to discuss plot details and brag how much did you crit which boss for and what kind of a weapon did he drop. Ignoring the tag for no reason annoys your bros and is rather rude in general :S

Yeah, this too. Most CRPGs are "harder" until you learn the game systems. I just pains me to see so many "gamers" who are so fucking dumb and impatient that they can't into the normal shit required to learn new systems. Every game is a system. Learn the system, and the game is enjoyable. Refuse to learn, and you will have a lousy time. It isn't rocket science.

thanks bro, so pickpocket is useless

how do I get into the treasure room to the right in the knights tomb? throwing a pyramid or trying the rogue teleport doesnt work because the area is "blocked"

I think it's worth it to put 1 point into it and hold on to some stat-boosting items. Occasionally you can nab a key or some other useful stuff.

Also, I know it's filthy apologist talk and I know this argument isn't really valid, but I'm tempted to say that smoothly pickpocketing a legendary, ridiculously rare and expensive item from a person trying to sell it and earn lots of dosh would either mean that the seller is insanely daft or that you're a godlike thief :P

edit: on the other hand, stealing anything while being disguised as a barrel, especially large works of art, would be rather tricky as well...
