OK, help me out here with the murder quest - I just want to know what I should look for / where I should look next, I'm still in the look around and tlak to various possible suspects in Cyseal stage.

Found dagger & lovenote and confronted Esmeralda, who continues to protest her innocence. Found stolen corpse that is replaced with sheep. Talked to the dog. Checked the crime scene to find Source magic residues. I want to check out Evelyn but there is nothing to find in the shop, no option to talk to her about much, and can't get into her house.

I just brute-forced my way into Evelyn's house by burning down the door.

Also iirc there are 3 items you can confront Esmeralda with, including a book on preparing an assassination or smth like that. Once you do so, she tells you to check Evelyn out. This questline was kinda broken for me since like I said I got into Evelyn's house by brute force, but that's just an Ultima-like game for you.

Also you can find Esmeralda's underwear and the dog will basically tell you she's innocent.

Inventory could be a bit more fluid if clicking the portraits changed to the corresponding inventory/character sheet too.

This. And there should be a toggle to open both inventory screens at the same time, instead you have to select the character then open the inventory

Also there are a bunch of keybinds missing from the control menu, like for selecting characters

You can right-click each character's portrait to open that character's inventory (though in my experience they tend to open on top of each other and you have to drag them out of the way).

It helps a little bit at least.

I did this and got my GOG key. I did it because have 2 keys from the Kickstarter. Curiously my "destroyed" key still works. Maybe there is a delay in the destruction...

More seriously, what the fuck does Perception have to do with screen highlighting? What a great idea: gate a standard game/UI feature behind a character skill. I look foward to the sequel where the soundtrack is silent unless your character has put sufficient points in the "Imagination" skill.

I think dog is an alternative way to solve quest actually, there is 1 item for every suspect - panties, then scarf for Evelyn, socks for legionnaire and there must be another one
is it possible to get scarf before you kill her I wonder?

so the game is shit, right? right? right?

It's first of incline wave, with absolutely bonkers editor.
Also fuck mages play without them for proper combat tactic.

For example:

I had this little fight 3 malee skeletons, 1 archer skeleton, 1 unded mage + 1 zombie dog VS my malee, archer and rogue.

Start of the fight Rogue uses Fast track and walk in shadows then moves closer to undead mage. Archer moves outside of skeletons range. Malee dude with Attack of Op trait moves between archer and skeletons at range where skeletons will move to him but not hit him.

Enemy moves as above and undead mage casts chill on my fucking tank making him frozen and he summons Zombie boar near my archer.

I am fucking outnumbered 2.4 to 1 with frozen malee char. So i continue with my rogue and i reach back of undead mage. Backstab from shadows for double damage and two more backstabs anihilates fucker. Archer puts Ricochet ability to use and 4 skeletons are hit and i move a little from Boar fucker.

Skeletons use my frozen malee as training dummy, archer goes for my archer hitting once hard and once missing, zombie dog fucking moves to my rogue but doesn't hit, boar hits my archer and my archer has little hp left after those two hits.

My malee character finally wakes up. Mashed potatoes and Dust devil in use. Skeletons are down to 50-60% of life. I move my rogue to back of one skeleton backstab,backstab skeleton is dead, backstab other one and move away 2 AP from this wild rave party. Archer runs away and uses potion.

Skeletons now hit hard my malee (since he is not frozen anymore) dog fucking bites also spewing poison everywhere poisoning my char NOT GOOD. Boar pursues archer, skeleton archer tries to hit my archer from afar. Misses twice.

My rogue now goes to fucking dog stabs him twice so he barfs everywhere with poison then goes straight for archer motherfucker backstabs him once. My malee is down to 50% hp and has 2 dudes near him and fucking dog. Decides to go VABANK and uses Battering ram to reach archer leaving him with his 50% hp. No Skeleton gets knocked down but he reached archer. Archer now takes fire arrow, takes aim and send ass fire cracker into fucking dog causing explosion anihilating both skeletons and getting dog to like 20% hp with burning status. Then moves away from pig pursuing him.

Fucking dog dies due to burning damage, Archer tries to run away from my malee char causing AoO which gets him to like 10% shoots my rogue hitting her once. Pig doesn't reach archer but again does nothing.

Rogue destroys archer and rest is just pig cutting.

Now with magic it would be like rain --- lighting bolt --- stun 3 skeletons and dog, everyone rest pick up archer and mage, rinse and repeat.

Game is best thing after Comrade Stalin; now will have to wait for muh magic pantaloons patch and some mods; like realistic armors for our heroes; legion has them and my Knight has face enemies in plate with decollete . If you have problem with slow loading saves and stuttering turn off the shades and DoF.
