I tend to hate when large swaths of the game consist of mucking about town investigating things so I ducked out to do some fighting. Apparently at level 3 I get gang raped by level 6 trolls. Also, still trying to figure out how to craft arrows and I haven't found a single merchant that sells lockpicks.

Still no one's beaten this after 5 days? It must be 75 hours then. Do you guys mind posting how many hours you've logged in the released version so far?

33 hours, no restarts or anything. I'd estimate I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 through the second area of supposedly 4.

To craft arrows, drag an arrowhead over an arrow shaft.

I'm at level 10 now, and I've only found 2 lockpicks for sale in the entire game. I just use the flare spell to destroy chests and doors, it's kind of tedious but becomes less so as your damage goes up.

The rogue merchant usually sells them. In Cyseal that would be the one
The chick upstairs at the Inn
You can also craft lockpicks for example by using a hammer on nails.
You can craft arrows by combining an arrowhead with arrows shafts. Arrow shafts are created from using an axe on a log, then the knife on the branches. Arrow heads are created in all different manners for the various different kinds of arrow heads.

For example using a knife on teeth will create stunning arrow heads (however that works? ^^) or combining potions of poison with generic arrowheads creates poison arrow heads.

Much appreciated. On one hand I know it's sort of neat for games to make the player figure it out by themselves but... on the other... having to find the right recipe book to tip you off or just stumble into it is kind of gay.

Really I can only give 1 protip that is, imo, most important:

You killed the delicious meaty she-orc? And for an elf?? The fuck is wrong with you boy?

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
But for the fucking elf?? ELF?? They're a blight in every setting they manage to get themselves into! If you had done it because of her skin colour that's fine but for a fucking elf.
Fuck elves, fuck you and fuck McComb and his Book of Elves.

And you can easily make lockpicks from nails + hammer. Needs crafting 3 I believe.

The elementalist/enchantress in the plaza to the right of the portrait seller sells lockpicks. Metro Night Goat

Also, you craft arrows by drag and dropping the arrow head onto arrow shafts. If your craft skill is high enough, it'll pop up a "how many do you want to make?" window. If it's not high enough, it'll just swap locations. That's how most crafting works (minus firing stuff in forges and baking and what not).

This game needs crafting interface.

BTW can you learn pet pal on level 3, or do you need that perk from the start?

The best lockipick seller is the rogue seller (witchcraft/scoundrel) in the second floor of the king's crab inn.

You can pick it up whenever, but Pet Pal is probably the most important talent you can pick.
