Playing Divine Divinity now and the dungeons can get pretty annoying. The first dungeon isn't very difficult on Normal but I still would have made it shorter, and if you go to Iona's Dungeon a bit too early (I forgot about it and went in at level 16) then it's a freaking mess. It's BMC bad, though I don't think BMC is *that* bad...

It is, when you are a completionist sperg. I have smooth talked my way to the King via the secret passage with my technologist diplomancer and then fought my way back through the BMC mines in reverse. Idiocy.

Edit : I also found out today that I was too fast in telling you TotalBiscuit would do D:OS because we're still talking to him about it... Sorry :\

Good news, Swen just posted this:

Total Biscuit is confirmed - he'll be playing with us this Saterday. End of campaign boost kind of thing which is pretty cool of him.

So this is how I keep up to date with work? Through a forum? :|

Luckily you have a community of fanatical autistic gamers keeping you informed about what's going on at Larian...

Errr, why. All it has is a bunch of shit steel archers/warriors and scorpions on the level with the exit, like the cursed abbey, not exactly much of a big deal. The horrible lich rape starts only on the levels below. And it's still got some cool secret thingies on the first level, like the house of madness.

I am very sure you are talking about the Dredge now, not the BMC.

It's possible. It is the by far the shittiest dungeon I remember from the game, so I was automatically assuming it was what he was talking about. Shows how spotty my memory really is.

I did Iona's Dungeon only yesterday, starting level 12, I think.
The only reason I could handle the enemies there was that I had found a book of Elemental Hail, which was my only spell that did reasonable damage against the undead there.
Also I could of course replenish life and mana at the wells, otherwise I would have run out of mana after 1/3 of the first floor.
With those two things it was quite doable, however.

The problem is that you can't avoid the dungeon once you are in the castle.

On another board I read someone said "I was almost ready to back Divinity until I saw it was a CRPG - I want another FP-RPG like the Divinities I played before"

So I had to up my pledge again to make up for their failure.
Marquess Cornwallis should up his pledge by an additional $1. Although this may be worth two bucks.

Thinking back at DD's first dungeon, I think we can do without ^___^

Am I the only one who liked it? :(
It could be done better if telekinesis was a option at level 1-3... so you could trigger the pyramid, and in the next to last level trigger the door lever from the otherside and go directly to the rape (though you'd probably die, but at least it would be a challenge and speedy), unlike the tedium of replays (also, that quest is a requirement for several other things, even if you can just fuck off out of the village, eventually you'll have to descend anyway).

So this is that game that looks like it's from 20 years ago?

Lol, grow up nerds, games have evolved, there's no place for you grandads here anymore. Turnbased was used only cuz it was a tech limitation anyway.

I'm kinda confused as to why in the videos/flythroughs they are rotating the camera all over the place but say the actual game doesn't have that option.

If we're rotating the camera, it's in the editor. Maybe that should've been made clear then.

Well, don't be hiding no invisible/can't see/click-fest loot behind the walls then! I'm kinda OCD about walls I can't see behind and try anyway. :)

Forktong, if you're still looking for more Youtube guys to get to play the game on their channel, here's another one.
