So you only control one character now, in a 3rd person action game. But they kept the RTWP. What that tells me is that the devs thought:
  • Controlling multiple characters is too unwieldly even with the pause
  • Controlling even a single character is so unwieldly that the pause is needed
A total and catastrophic failure of control and UI design. It is difficult to even comprehend the magnitude of the decline, they have dumbed the formula down from 6 characters with mouse and keyboard, all the way down to a single character with maximum 4 abilities, and they're still using the pause as a crutch.

Controlling even a single character is so unwieldly that the pause is needed

Or that their target audience is so witless that they need a pause function for just one character with four abilities. Hence the story mode they've already confirmed. This thing is not for RPG enthusiasts.

The journos at PC Gamer are on the fence about this game, one of the writer correctly criticize the further dilution of RPG aspects and the tactical combat. In chasing mainstream Mass Effect audience, Dragon Age becomes Mass Effect and the latest gameplay proved it. Still going to play it, but with managed expectations.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard drops a 10-minute combat deep dive video, and it might just have sold me on giving BioWare's latest RPG a whirl

So they did take some notes from Witchers, judging by the rolling.

The bunnyrabbit jumping and warrior magic powers look stupid as always.

Bioware shills are really trying to pretend that people are excited to see more of this ugly abomination.

This... This is too much.

Welp. I unironically regret ever treating the topic of female looks in games with any nuance or good will. Fuck that.
To create a face like this you need an agenda or Prosper.

Taash is probably the only qunari in this who looks like a horned, blue-skinned black man. Figures, since it's your romanceable party member. The rest of them probably look like beefcake prettyboys.

Oh yeah, the assassin guy's full name is Lucanis Dellamorte, 2edgy4U. And the Steam forum has been overrun with Biobots and reseterans. It looks like a wine mom chatroom now, more or less.

Proof positive that trannies are all angry because deep down, they know that all they want is a macho man, who will never look at them in the way the trannies would love them to. That kind of snub cuts deep.

I guess they're trying to make the characters a bit nicer without breaking the original character concept.

Well at least they are trying to correct something wrong, we can't blame them for that. However, the effect is still so-so. They keep trying and they keep failing.

That's how we can sum up this entire production, right?

Oh look y'all, he's wearing crow-themed buckles. Like he's trying to advertise that he's an Antivan Crow or something, instead of blending in. Or maybe those are his dress robes for when he just likes to dandy up.

The necromancer has a skull collar pin, how adorable. My heart can't handle all this cake.

Finally got round to watching that combat video and it looks awful...being only able to "equip" a few powers at once is idiotic and any immersion you might have seems to be continually broken by having to pause and bring up that hideous UI every few seconds.

Either make it a real time action game or a turn-based tactical game, not this mess.

Dwarf companion turns into the Silver Surfer, wonder what lore they’ll pull out of their ass for this one.

And to nobody’s surprise the white version of the Indian chick looked much better.

Dragon Age "Fans" Only Just Realising The Series Is Pretty Woke

https://www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-the-veilguard-woke-trailer-morrigan-steam-discussion/

Key Takeaways

  • Breaking news: Dragon Age is woke all of a sudden.
  • For some reason, the discussions page for Dragon Age: The Veilguard on Steam is full of users complaining about wokeness and DEI.
  • You know... as if that hasn't been a thing since Dragon Age: Origins.
This isn't the own this bluehair thinks it is.
