When it comes to voice acting, you have to remember that they hired a french canadian woman to voice Leliana, and when she spoke english with her natural french canadian accent, she was directed to ham it up even more with the frenchiness.

It's not just Weekes. The game's director is trans. Multiple reviewers (including IGN) are trans. It is impossible to believe this isn't influencing coverage of the game by these professional outlets.
Isn't it strange how you can go years and never see a tranny irl yet every video game studio is somehow run by trannies? I think 98% of the world's gender freaks must be employed in the video game industry or else the numbers just don't make any sense to me.

I bet those women also mod games to make women in game more sexually appealing. They're probably responsible for the vast majority of user screenshots on the CBBE mod page.

Especially the RPG genre that seems to attract them like shit attracts flies.

Pathfinder: Wrath
I really want this to fail but it is Top 3 of Steam Top Seller now

Insane, who are buying this even? I guess BG3 crowd?

It's an EA-owned game with a massive marketing budget right before launch with no competition. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit #2 tomorrow.

Let's see how concurrent players and reviews play out.
yeah it's number 2 today, beating the all mighty Counter Strike 2 Lootbox driven income

I would assume game will have 20,000+ concurrent players today or at least tomorrow on weekend

A literal circlejerk by a bunch of troons and huns all furiously wanking each other off. The state of modern gay-ming...

You'll affirm mental illness, chud.

One of the upsides of living on the other side of the world from you honkey degenerate cisnet Westerners is that every day is a new Cringemass (yes, I'm sticking with that). Grab a coffee, have a seat, and there's like 9 more pages of hilarity collated from you wonderful degenerate chud fiends. I'm only said I'm gonna have to sleep through the game's launch ... but man that morning is going to be like walking out to see that Santa packed freshly gift-wrapped cringe floor to ceiling, in every crevice, on the roof and dangling dangerously from the balcony.

More to the point ... man this fucking dialog wheel is doing my head in. Remember when Fallout 4 got roasted by having 4 choices, that were mostly different flavors of "yes?" Some of them mildly sarcastic?

We've actually done it - we have managed to witness a game surpassing Fallout 4 in putting the "Retard" in RPG. It's like that Office meme "they're the same picture" - except there's four of them. Four versions of yes. Why stop at four? Why not have 18 different versions of "Everything you say is correct and I support you!" Fuck's sake, even Fallout 4 had the sense to hide its complete failure as an RPG behind a fig leaf, and it took a mod to make it clear. Can we get an "HR is in the room" mod in which every choice is literally "You are great, companion" throughout the whole game?

It's almost impressive. Veilguard is just straight - yeah fuck RPGs, fuck making your character, fuck choice and most especially fuck you - you're getting four versions of yes and you'll fucking like it.

I have my own dialog wheel and it's four colors of puke.

CURSE YOU BAYLE!
Unionised American actors vs. some random English bloke that Miyazaki met in a maid cafe

My headcanon is that Igon is just some random dude Miyazaki met on a street corner who just got evicted or his ass kicked or something by some guy named Bayle, they miced him up and said "We gotta build a quest around this." And the more they listened, the more they knew that Bayle had to be an absolutely god tier fight to match that much rage.

Nobody can convince me otherwise. Igon is god tier voice work - like, the only time I wanted to stop a brawl with a dragon and be like "hey man... you wanna just sit and have a chat? Appreciate the help and all but it reallys sounds like you've got other shit going on."

Baldur's Gate 3 was RPG Codex's GOTY for 2023, so it makes sense that Veilguard will be its GOTY for 2024.

Inquisition was voted second worst when it came out. Fallout 4 was last.

Gonna come out and say it - I think that was a miss. It's not much by FO4 at least had snappy gunplay and a few amusing sidequests. Worked pretty well if you roleplayed as a deadbeat dad who didn't give a shit about his kid.

I can't think of a single redeeming feature of Inquisition. Maybe the graphics, they were good for the day. Everything else was MMO slopwater and was the moment - yes, everyone has to learn the hard way - that I learned reviews and awards can be absolute fucking horseshit. I also think most people on Codex actually played FO4 and probably bounced off Inquisition, because I suffered through a lot of that piece of shit out of sunk cost fallacy, up to the point they all had le sads but them someone sang a fucking song and they all felt the happies again and their problems were solved.

The Disneyfication began long ago and the value I never extracted from that flaming fuck pile that I stupidly paid actual money for I can at least extract from laughing at their failures.

Yes, maybe there is a correlation between videogames and mental issues.

It seems to me that Bioware thinks there is an "anti-woke" crowd that's out to get them, and all the negative feedback is just internet trolls hating on gay and trans people.

I mean there's some of that obviously, but BG3 also had plenty of gay, and is "woke" according to this degenerate forum, yet still got its GOTY.

The difference is that Veilguard is clearly a shit fucking game with absolutely abysmal writing.

If people are not sympathizing with your characters the fault is yours. You can make even the gas-chamber operators on RPGCodex sympathize with trans people if you manage to communicate their struggle somehow. An RPG game is actually the perfect place to convince people of your morals if you do it right.

But having your medieval fantasy characters fucking mention "non-binary" is just objectively shit writing. It shows zero understanding of the context, the time and place, of the concepts they are pretending to promote. Words like that only have significance in their own social context. Gender identity discussions are for societies that have no other pressing problems like war or hunger to solve. A fantasy world facing a violent world-destroying threat is not that kind of society.

Getting an alert for "encouraging multiculturalism" is fucking patronizing and condescending, not "progressive". It's like the writers don't even believe in the shit they're spewing, since they couldn't show and not tell. As if they think regurgitating talking points is how you put ideology into action.

The lack of tension and conflict between companions reflects the ideologically rigid behavior of these nutcases, where if two people ever disagree over something that means one of them must be a Nazi.
