Holy Shit this is where the game is at. Challenging even on Normal. Just had a fantastic boss fight against a special Cyclops. Long, tense, fight.

I wish the the whole game (sequel) will be all about dungeon crawling.

I truly hope the game is selling well, it truly deserves a sequel to flesh out some of its most interesting systems and based on Dark Arisen they could produce massively fun dungeon craws with mutiple levels within several fun settings too

You know what this game really lacks? Decapitations. It has some monster-specific decapitations like how you can cut off lizardmen's tails but it would be really fun to see some regular random combat decapitations. When a puny goblin jumps at me and I kill him with a single swing of my mighty greatsword, which is slightly longer than the huge green ogre that is my character, I want to see his halves flying in different directions and painting the surrounding rocks with his blood.

The only cosmetic thing that bugs me about this game is mages and sorcerers carrying their staves on their backs. How does that, where, do you have a hook, how are, how - why do you do that?

BBI sure makes wearing whatever clothing looks cool go right out the window. Goofball pauldrons and weapons with wings and spikes all over them? Fine, we're doing this

I played this whole game without a robe and I continued to do so through BBI.

Unfortunately my beautiful dragon staff was changed for an overpowered ugly purple dildo with bat wings.

So here's a question. Is there a resource somewhere that shows armor graphics and categorizes them by class? The main wiki has them all listed alphabetically by name, which is too many pages to go through. I want to look at the different armor available to Fighters and Assassins and compare them aesthetically.

Cool thing that happened in my Gazer fight: I had the PC on the floor of the arena for some reason (probably I fell) and the Gazer decided to do the larger tentacle-from-a-puddle attack on me right as I was below it. The eye had turned directly down to look at the PC. So, I evaded the tentacle and the thing actually poked itself in the eye, which instantly knocked it out of the air and put it in its knockdown state with the inner eye weak point lolling out of the mouth like a tongue for the group to kick the shit out of it.

I accidentally reverted away that save at one point and had to fight it again and realized the thing will actually let you climb directly onto the inner eyeball without doing anything until you've knocked like half its health off.

Uh, I accidentally beat the game (I interpreted the, "You won't be able to come back here" point-of-no-return warning as warning me that I wouldn't be able to go back to the Everfall farming dungeon that I didn't want to do instead of BBI anyway). What does NG+ do? I only got to the second boss in BBI.

New quests, new gear and some other stuff

I was already playing on hard, mostly because I incorrectly thought that bandits and goblins were supposed to be kinda threatening and worth fighting. Just run by. I think it made a lot of things maybe less enjoyable if I look back and think that most people should ignore all the open world stuff and like 75% of quests. I had more fun in the pure copy/pasted vanilla post-game farming dungeon than I did in all the open world stuff, much less doing what part of BBI that I did.

About Death: All those BBI "horror bosses" are mostly just extreme-defense HP bags, what makes them interesting is when they show up in the middle of you doing other shit and force you to deal with them (often by runnin' the fuck away).

Also they're typically balanced (at least on hard) so that when you first meet them they 1-2 shot you and are very difficult to kill (as in, skill aside, the stats aren't there), but by the time you've levelled up from exploring and looting those zones you can generally chop them up in a reasonable amount of time.

man fuck melee classes, they do shit damage and can't hit half the enemies, Ranger >>> everyone else

oh and it's a good idea to go around and max every shopkeepers affinity before finishing that playthrough, it gives you more items in the next NG+.

I've got nothing bad to say about the port. It retains a lot of the annoying things from the console version, mostly to do with the UI, but the black borders have been removed and it runs really well.
