Everything about this looks perfect. Is there any speculation on the possible release date?
Source: The deepest depths of my butt.

I think they'll release it in March, 2024. Why? They have repeatedly said that they are releasing a game by the end of their fiscal year (which ends Match 31, 2024), and it's a game that will sell millions. I only know of DD2 that has been announced.
Its gotta be this or a new Monster Hunter. The Capcom leaks had a 2023 release date for MH6. They announced Rise on september and released it on march of the following year IIRC. The schedule would be tighter but considering how Monster Hunter exploded with World and Rise it basically markets itself at this point. They could announce it at the Game Awards for example.

Worth noting that the leak had DD2 releasing in 2022, but that was before Covid.

I really doubt it's coming that early. There's no way they wouldn't have already announced a release date.

The specific wording is "unannounced title", which implies its unannounced, rather than no release date announced yet. While we're reasonably sure what happened to the new Dino Crisis and Onimusha from the hacking, "Regolith" and "Shield" are a mystery and were both supposed to come out Q4 '21 pre-lockdowns, and a two year delay is pretty consistent with most other delays. One is likely now known as Pragmata, but that doesn't explain the other. If it is Shield, a "Shield G" was already planned in the release schedule so don't bother.

This reminds me of first two Gothic games, in the sense that they are reusing some old locations. Let's hope that the Japs manage to pull a Piranha Bytes and make the sequel better than the original:salute:

I don't think Gothic 2 actually WAS better than Gothic 1. If anything they stand as paragons of two different types of games in the same franchise that each did things better than the other. If I had to pick which was indispensable though... it'd definitely be Gothic 1. It's way more memorable.

March 2024 is 100% MH6. it is 20th anniversary of franchize and unnanounced mh game leaked in their leaked files a while ago for 2024.

Best way to judge when DD2 will be released is to see when DMC5 production ended. It was released in 2019. You subtract from it around 3 months till release as this is where usually people start to move from project to another one in huge numbers. So you have around 3 years of them working on it. If this was just sequel to DD1 after it was released it is reasonable time to get sequel out but DD2 is being made nearly 11 years after DD1 with a lot of team new to that game. They probably also can't use old tools so tooling probably had to be remade.

Another aspect is that DD1 had huge troubles in production and directors had to cut MAJORITY of game and features. Yes what people loved about DD1 is effectively small part of what DD1 was supposed to be. DD1 was supposed to be Capcom Elder Scrolls at the time but it bombed hard with game only going into green with PC release years after console release.

There was also japanese only DD Online which was basically asset swap made by different team that they didn't bother even localizing and releasing it in west.

Now considering above and this:

- DD1 bombed because it was badly marketed. It didn't have much coverage and when they tried to market it they tried to sell it as western RPG like Oblivion which naturally it wasn't. The action nature of it was heavily tied to cuts they had to made when in production it was much more open ended like elder scrolls. So no marketing, wrong marketing and huge techical issues on consoles (game literally run in "cinema mode" with huge black bars on top and bottom because consoles barely could do 25ish fps with it.
- Team wasn't able to deliver what they wanted and it failed expectations of establishing new huge franchise because of that.
- DMC director (which made DD) said many times in interviews that if they return to make DD2 they want to give game justice and give game scope they always wanted)
- Capcom is on the roll and they are swell with money from hits they released in last few years.
- Capcom always wanted huge RPG franchise. And DD transformed from failture into fan favorite against the odds. Which means it might be considered now safe bet for DD2 with proper scope and budget.
- They are not using their latest REX engine. In fact game basically looks like remaster of DD1. What this means is that they are setting very conservative techical limits to deliver in other aspects. If you have game with many systems and features having on top of that new graphics growing pains is usually recipe for huge delays and fuckups. This also probably means they will release it as multiplatform as possible including Switch2/PS4 etc.

I think 2025 with passible delay to 2026.

They announced it early to give heads up to community to slowly ramp up hype for it as they will effectively teach community what this game is about unlike DD1. They will probably also start to show that this is not in fact just DD2 sequel but much bigger and different thing as time goes, easing community of fans into new game.

Also making RPGs is super hard. IT is not liner DMC game you can shat in 2-3 years easily.

I don’t see Monster Hunter 6, a game that hasn’t even been officially announced yet, coming out before Dragon’s Dogma 2. I’m not even sure they announce it before Dragon’s Dogma 2 is out, since it would likely just cannibalize this game. That would be like Capcom announcing some new Darkstalkers, Red Earth, or Cyberbots fighting game and then in the lead up to its release announcing a new Street Fighter that will also come out ahead of the other thing. The last few years Capcom has been pretty good about not announcing a ton of stuff all at once. They announce a few things, they focus on those, then they announce something else.

The only way I can see Monster Hunter 6 coming out before Dragon’s Dogma 2 is if Monster Hunter 6 is a multiplatform release, which at the moment Dragon’s Dogma 2 oddly doesn’t seem like it will be.

March 2024 is 100% MH6. it is 20th anniversary of franchize and unnanounced mh game leaked in their leaked files a while ago for 2024.

The thing to remember about those leaks is they’re most definitely pre COVID timetables, and nothing from them is hitting the leak schedule.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was listed to come out in 2022 with Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6. The latter two games came out this year, and DD2 is probably coming out sometime next year. Monster Hunter 6 was scheduled for a release this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a 2025 game now...if it’s coming next year it’s likely late next year.

The March 2024 game could be anything. Capcom saying they have a unannounced game that’s coming out in March that will sell millions doesn’t mean it has to be their biggest game. It just means it’s not some small little release. Devil May Cry 5 sold millions.

Here’s the stuff from the leak list that hasn’t been announced yet, that isn’t Monster Hunter 6:

Captain Commando
Final Fight Remake
Power Stone Remake
Resident Evil Apocalypse
Resident Evil Hank (which I think was meant to be HUNK)

There’s also the unhelpfully named

New C
New B

And finally there’s Rockman Taisen and Onimusha New Work... but the Onimusha game may have become Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the Mega Man game could just be something like Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection for all we know as opposed to some new thing. I kind of assumed Rockman Taisen was going to be some platform fighter, but now I don’t know what to think about that one.

Even if it’s just the Final Fight Remake it could still sell millions, (a few million anyways) even if it was a classic style 2D belt scrolling beat ‘em up game. Streets of Rage 4 was able to sell 2.5 million in its first year. I’d assume a similar Final Fight game could outsell Streets of Rage 4 unless they really fucked things up somehow. Capcom could probably also completely fund a game like that (and then some) with Microsoft Xbox Game Pass money.

I maintain my optimistic guess that it is Dragon's Dogma II. It could also just be hopium.

They've already had playable slices of DD2 and everything they've shown looks like new content for DD1, so it's possible that they were able to reduce the work load to produce 2 by repurposing existing assets.
Either way, it would be unusual to have playable versions for journos to write about if it was really far off.

I just don't have any trust for modern Capcom, my heart tells me that they will find a way to ruin this game. My most recent Capcom memories are resident evil village which was extremely retarded/lazy and Street fighter 6 which was one of the top ten cringiest games of all time.
