Tasty. Always found it weird the fixation of some japanese developers in having photo-realistic food and cooking, much more so than the actual gameplay graphics.

Always hated that part of Monster Hunter World. Made me hungry everytime I watched it...

Also there was some "sunny side up" eggs fetish in between 2000-2010. In Metal Gear there was a lengthy coversation about it and in Heavy Rain you have to cook it for a women you saved.

PSA, current cheapest price in € on PC is 43,69€ on CDkeys. $48.29, not sure how that compares. It'll probably slowly climb over time in any case.

The Power Stone Remake being scheduled two years after Dragon’s Dogma 2 release on the leak list makes me wonder if that’s Hideaki Itsuno game after this, and not something someone else at Capcom is doing.

Wish that’s what the box art was styled as. Or at least the games booklet, if it came with one.

I thought this was funny

This is a picture I drew in a hurry at the end of the year.

The overseas official version has higher resolution (゚∀゚)

I want to put Akiman's comment in a frame and display it ( ´∀`)
This picture is so genius!
There's something wonderful about having something you want to draw and challenging yourself to your limits! !

Honestly think that would be a shame and a bit of a waste of his talents. Power Stone is cool, but I feel it pales in comparison to the majority of the games he's directed. Would much rather see a Dragon's Dogma 3 or a completely new IP.

I’d imagine a modern Power Stone would probably not play all that differently from Dragon’s Dogma gameplay wise. Like I wouldn’t be surprised if a modern Power Stone drops the collecting Stones aspect for something more like the meter management and hotkey system of Dragon’s Dogma. Basically be a kind of Dragon’s Dogma fighting game; but with a grapple attacks, more environmental interactions, and weapon pickups.

I’d also imagine we see the kind of environmental destruction there is in the Goliath boss fight in DMC5 in all the stages.

I think a modern Power Stone could be a big step up from what he last did with the series in ‘99 and 2000.

I believe he said in that famous post-DMC5 interview, that he would like to go back and work on smaller titles, even possibly a new Rival Schools entry

And honestly, it's better having the man doing something he likes even if we don't find interesting, then the other way around
Plus, he's like 51/52, in 10 years he's on his way out and another big AAA project would at least 7 years of development even if he were to start as soons as DD2 releases

The player of the monkey boss seemed to be unaccustomed to games that don't play like Soulslop, because he was always trying to do a plunging attack
Also lol at the monkey's drop kick attack, almost spent the guy off the bridge

In the last vocation footage, the khajit pawn does a "fastball special" a couple of times
Cool

None of his games take that long, even with the COVID holdups this game started development in 2019 after Devil May Cry 5 shipped. I’m not sure this game will have been in development for a full five years by the time it releases...and originally they were eyeing a 2022 release... although it would’ve probably been delaying into 2023.

From interviews from around the release of Devil May Cry it really sounded like he wanted to get back into making fighting games. So much so that he also seemed like that could’ve happened before this game. I think it’s also in that interviewer you’re talking about where he was also kind of talking about retiring sometime soon. So he may just want to do some smaller projects after this before leaving.

I wouldn’t be totally surprised if he wanted to do a new Capcom vs SNK game too, given there’s been talk of that happen again. He was working on some 3D version of Capcom vs SNK 3 before SNK falling apart for a moment in the 2000s killed that game. And he is one of Capcom’s previews main fighting game guys pre getting roped into Devil May Cry and Capcom getting back into fighting games with Street Fighter 4.

Personally I want to see him doing some new fighting games. I love the Alpha games, Power Stone, and Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2; and it’s been way too long since he’s done stuff like that. His last fighting games are over 20 years old now.
