How does this shit work? Are they consumables? Will they be destroyed if i apply them to a weapon

you go to the smith and apply them, they change the skill of the weapon and the scaling 8but not always scaling?). The one you have is then destroyed but the game saves the fact that you had it and you can recreate it at the smith with an item.

Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
With a good greatshield + the barricade ash of war

Lmao, i have yet to use any ashes.

How does this shit work? Are they consumables? Will they be destroyed if i apply them to a weapon and then remove them? What about the ashes that don't go on weapons, is that something i just pop up into a fight any time i want?

Because that seems kinda cheap as shit.
Standard weapons have an "ash of war" slot. Every time you rest at a grace, you can equip and unequip your ashes of war on any weapon. Each ash of war comes with a special attack (the old weapon art in DS3) and an infusion, but you can change the infusion once you acquire certain key items). Nothing gets destroyed or expended, apart from your FP when you press L2.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
With armor being so useless in DS3 (and i assume it's useless here also)

The formula for damage reduction is much better in this game (it was posted a few pages back). Armour is not useless in this one.

A good set will definitely allow you to survive a few extra hits. As in all souls games being able to dodge and avoid is obviously better, but I'd rather be medium load and be able to take an extra hit or two when I do inevitably make a mistake.

BTW, the lack of level design is really starting to wear me down.

Granted i'm obsessed with exploration and finding every possible nook and cranny before moving to the next area but when i'm going to find a legacy dungeon? The open area is SOOOO fucking popamole i'm getting bored.

Bitch all you want about DS2 but the level design, even in the base game was WAY better than this open world shit.

Guessing you've not done Stormveil Castle yet? That's the first real dungeon, and a very good one imo. Loads of alternative pathways, plenty of little secrets and a good variety of mobs.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
So I am getting to the point where I have invested into anything i need for my build so far that I hit the Caps and I am not at the end.

The game becomes too easy in a way through that and I have not been thorough in the least, started as a wretch and nearing the "lord of Chaos" ending.

This is NOT anything new however because the same problem was already present in DS1, specifically Artorias and Manus, neither of which can be done with anything other than light roll and no shield,

I am pretty sure I used a shield against artorias because I always use one. I played the remaster of DS1 "recently".

Yeah my last DS1 playthrough was mid roll sword and shield build where I was trying to see how much poise I can stack without going into fat roll teritorry. Don't remember Artorias or Manus giving me any trouble, pretty sure they both went down on first attempt.

People who say shields are useless in souls games never went high STR builds to run one of the more towering shields. They still work even in DS3, I respecced into many builds deep into NG+ for funzies and you can tank even Gael just fine.

What you cannot do in a souls is run low str and act like your little heater shield can stop a giant hit to your face.

What does suck in modern souls is magic. Still sucks in elden ring when it comes to spells, while magic weapon arts on the other hand are OP

I got a question for you, brainiacs. What's an excuse for respawning enemies in Elden Ring? In Dark Souls it just seems right, with it's non linear time and shit. In Bloodborne also, with Hunters Dream and shit. I'm not far into the game(just fought Rennala) but I can't see why soldiers and caravans keep doing the same shit all over again. Does it have lore explanation?

Full heavy is really good this time, there are a lot of options. With Dragonclaw shield+10 and greatshield talisman I can tank most stuff easly.

I assumed everybody here is immortal, this being a divine realm and all.

At least a noble garment description seems to supoort this, saying after the Shattering these nobles live immortal empty lives or something to that effect.

It turns out that video games with empty levels are ridiculously boring.

The night of black knives was an event where the death rune was stolen and used to kill demigods. With the rune of death stolen every being in The Lands Between had become immortal.

Why don't the bosses respawn then, why can we kill the demigods without the rune of death? It's a mystery.

Magic is a lot more powerful than you think, stack int , then use the potion to have no fp consumption. Cast terra magica, charge comet azur, you can oneshot many bosses. Then it's a lot easier during the game and in pvp guided missiles can be a killer.

Do this rune of death arc gets further elaborated or stays as this cheap reference to runequest? Also, are there runes of life, wind, earth, etc.?
