What kind of an ending would that turd give me?
Dung Eater's ending is like Yes Man's from New Vegas. Basically the option to free everyone from the old regime. Souls games are based on the subtext that the old regime is using you to keep their position of power no matter what and that the end of said regime would be the "true" ending, like in Dark Souls, where the "keep the flame" ending is meant to be the one that extends the life support of all the inbred idiots telling you what to do, even if the game is quite explicit on telling you that the Dark Age is coming no matter what.

Think of that, but in Elden Ring's terms.

Looking it up, it seems like the "Dung-Eater" ending would turn the entire world into a literal hell. Also, he would have murdered prawn bro!

So glad I ended that fucker.

Hm, I found someone called "Mohg the Omen" in the depths of Leyndell's obnoxious sewer level. I thought he's at the Mausoleum of Blood, or whatever it's called? Although I didn't get a great rune from that, so maybe it's an unrelated guy/mutant who happens to have the same name.

And who was "Godefroy the Grafted", lorewise? Are they just cloning story bosses now? The spirit of Bloodporn chalice dungeons is strong with this game.

Soooo, i'm still getting my ass handed to me, but i'm making progress at least. This bitch is definitely an handful i've been lulled into a false sense of confidence since almost everything up to this point was not any harder than my first run or was actually easier even, but i'm actually feeling the low level now for the first time since starting this.

I wish i had the time to practice her all day long but i only got a few hours a day at most which is making this painfully slow. Biggest hurdle is that with her it seems it's all or nothing unless you have the health to tank your mistakes, which i don't. What i mean is that you have to be able to have a counter for every single thing she does, since she is going to pull any random move out of nowhere and if i'm not ready it's instant death every single time so i'm basically training for each of her attacks specifically one by one, and my runs get ever more consistent the more i do this. Positioning is also a bitch since sometimes depending on how close you are or whether you are slightly off the side the counter is not the same which means i have to fight AGAINST my finger memory, which is messing with my brain.

I think i can do this without having to upgrade my weapon though. The more i try the more consistent i'm becoming.

For the first one, he's a copy of the guy at the Mausoleum of Blood just like Margit is a copy of Morgott. Make sure to prod the altar in his boss room. Just... don't open the gate at the bottom. There's a reason that Mohg and Morgott, despite their clashing ideologies, work together to keep what's in there locked away.

As for the second, he's likely some sort of ancestor to Godrick, perhaps even his father, who also practiced the art of grafting. I suspect he was captured and jailed after the failed siege on Leyndell, but that's just a guess on my part.

Is it? Well, at least they bothered to change the name slightly. Margit/Morgot, Godrick/Godefroy, was it too hard to call that guy "Mewhg the Omen", or something?

FS continues to surprise me with the amount of effort put into some areas, coupled with the near-total lack of effort in other, equally important areas. The azn mind is truly inscrutable.

In the case of Margit, it isn't laziness. He has his reasons to go around under a different name. The Mohg copy is just baffling though. And the Godefroy thing... we don't talk about Godefroy. He only has two redeeming qualities: the talisman he drops is fun and the top comment on his wiki page is:

c'mon dawg not the gronklecock the gardened

Nothing else.

They also didn't even give him a proper title. He's just... "the Omen" (there's omens all over the place in that horrible level). At least Margit was "the Fell Omen", whatever that means.

Missed the opportunity to call him "Mohg the Blood Omen". Unforgivable.

Exactly, leaving this guy alive is completely dumb unless you actually want his ending

Not to mention he is a sick fuck and deserves to die

It's not hell, it's humanity. The dung eater's ending is to turn everyone into Fell, beings free from the influence of the outer gods and the endless cycle of rebirth through the Erdtree - which is itself a parasitic alien. Hell is the frenzied flame ending.

Mohg in the Sewers is not the real Mohg probably. Personally I think it's a projection by Morgott. There's 3 bosses who dissapear in a golden dust, instead of the regular blueish one. Sewer Mohg, Spirit Godfrey, and Margitt. I think they are all probably some kind of a spell cast by Morgott. He basically summoned an illusion of his brother and father to protect important places.

Godefroy, lorewise, is an ancestor of Godrick, reportedly the first one who turned to grafting. For which he was imprisoned into the everjail by one of the named banished knights iirc. But yeah, having the same model and moveset as Godrick, despite being a different character, is lame. Should have just done something else instead.

The giant door at the end of the very long stone staircase that is also "Sealed by Margret the Grace-Given" is the one that leads to the next area? So I can't actually go to the Mountaintops of Giants until I deal with him?

To open a door, you must have a key. Unless it's "closed from the other side"

Wait. Marika was her own husband?! Well, thanks to everyone itt for not spoiling this for me, that's quite a twist. Hmm... don't remember if this was mentioned in the game already, but did they have children with itself? And if so, then... how?

The entity in question is an amorphous blob of gold - it can mimic anyone's appearance and reproduce like an amoeba. This is why so many things in the game are "alloyed" or "golden", this is how the erdtree/god of gold influences its assets. You will also notice the underworld is full of silver; I think the civilization in question was trying to create its own living god, and failed or was wiped out by the golden. The game is essentially a conflict between various alien gods, each with their chosen champion and consort (ranni representing the stars, fia the deathblight, marika/radagon/several others are the erdtree/gold) trying to claim dominion over the lands between and ownership of all the souls/runes within it.

You will also notice all of the "children" of Marika and Radagon are fucked up in some way or are maybe just literally the same people.

Anyway, after Melina's impassioned plea, I decided not to open the door to the Three Fingers. Does the game lock you into an ending, or can you choose at the end of the game which of the endings that you've unlocked you want to go with?

For every ending except Three Fingers / chaos rampant, you will be able to select an option, after defeating the main quest final boss, to receive that particular ending, assuming you have met the requirements for it, which, aside from the default ending, means completing a quest line for a specific NPC. Also, you are not forced to end the game after defeating the main quest final boss, so you will have the opportunity to continue and confront the even more difficult challenges offered by Elden Ring.
