Tweets are probably done by the same person responsible for the English translation.

A few typos and some translation mistakes arent really a big deal for me, the overall gameplay and fun factor is what counts

the english translation butchered the story, it's more of a rewrite in a lot of areas

I mean, other than the "No wombyn PC", everything you listed there is valid criticism.

ELEX is liked despite, not because of, its user interface, visual presentation, combat system etc.

I have no problem with someone not liking a game, or even criticizing it. But the shit on Steam goes to the next level. It's like there's a group of people there who are VIRTUE SIGNALING how they absolutely hate it and that if you like it, you're empirically wrong and must be a PB fanboy.

It was that way when Elex one came out. Looks like it's shaping up to be that way now.

edit - honestly, I had no problem with stuff like combat, U.I, graphics, etc. I found the issues to be massively overblown.

Evidently, I'm a PB fanboy or something

Not much of an improvement but still better than square jawed tranny she was in the first game.

Those dialogue options :deadtroll:.
Seems pretty standard end state npc party dialog options, 1 to engage in dialog, 2 for business time (i assume late game stage screenshot), 3 directions, 4 exit dialog.

You know people got dumber when the average dialogue options in RPGs are on the same quality as 1 INT dialogue options in Fallout 1.

Makes you wonder if they hate on games with female protagonists and no relevant male characters. I bet they don't.

I've actually had that "discussion" once with someone.

Long story short, you're right.

Yeah, all those skill checks in Elex 1 basicly amounted to +25 exp bonuses, which is ridiculously low reward for the investment in stats/skills.

It's behind a paywall so here is a summary machine translated from a German forum
Positive aspects:

- First things first: you can now pick up items with a single click!
- Very bug-free and practically no bugs!
- Playtime between 60 and 80 hours. Perfect!
- Decisions have a noticeable effect this time.
- Destruction and the opposite even provide additional dialog options! Great!
- The jetpack and flying are supposed to be fantastic and integrate perfectly into the world.
- Exploration is probably as grandiose as ever.
- The character system is said to be much more motivating than in the predecessor, and attributes have an effect as well.
- The combat system is better than in the predecessor, but still doesn't win any prizes.
- Crafting is supposed to be fun and motivating.
- You can make your own markings on the map! Simply great!
- The graphics are on the level of five years ago, but the light atmosphere (e.g. at sunsets) is supposed to be terrific!
- High visibility, but few details in the distance.
- World design and character behavior are believable
- likeable companions
- fairer than the predecessor
- quests with several solutions
- gripping soundtrack

Negative aspects:

- bumpy staged cutscenes
- some badly chosen voice actors (these must be our "great" Let's Players!)
- some faces look artificial
- battles always play the same and a bit clumsy
- occasionally frustrating group fights
- degenerates into continuous fights towards the end of the game
- the story sometimes seems more unintentionally funny than gripping

combat is shit, combat encounters are shit, endgame is shit, story is hilariously bad... but everything else is simply great!
