Bros, how do you make the DS dual screen usable by a blind bat without using two monitors? Side-by-side works, but it looks weird in games where it isn't static or a plain menu.

DS emulation really needs an ability to have screens of different size, enabling you to have a small bottom screen and a large top one.

Meh, I tried it out and it's just infused with all the bloat bullshit from the later builds. All my per-core configs became useless because they just froze the emu when trying to load, no way am I redoing like 20 system setups. The new PS3 ripoff UI is awful too, as if it's not clunky enough to deal with on Sony hardware. Glad I keep everything backed up.

Older RA 1.0.0.3 still works perfectly fine and the cores can easily be updated manually from here: http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/win-x86_64/latest/

It's a lot easier to rebind keys in the new version as it's done through key prompts rather than editing the configuration file, but the issue I had was that some of my key bindings would conflict with other functions (like speed up and stuff), so I ended up having to manually edit the configuration file anyways to fix this.

Other than that I've had no issue so far. I haven't messed with per-core settings yet.

Eh. Its a bad idea in general not to reconfigure everything after so many builds. Potential for conflict is just too high. And it took only like 15 minutes for me. (Sounds like you have tons of specific settings though)

Also the only thing thats changed regarding UI is that the xmb one has become the standard now. The old UI is still available by changing the menue driver.

Sup bros, I'm back at emulating stuff and I'd want to know a bit more about complete romsets for each platform... I'm lazy and I used to love those huge ass torrents back on good ol' Underground Gamer with pretty much the entire catalogue of each console. This is the kind of stuff I like to grab and then proceed to slowly filter the games I like and discard the rest. It takes time but the end result is pretty gud, a fine and :obviously:'d list.

Anyways, do you guys know where to get these complete torrents nowadays? Are the romsets on emuparadise really complete? Even then, EmuP doesn't have complete packs for the heavier stuff like PSX onwards
You can get most of complete roms on bitgamer.ch, they actually seem to have most of undergroundgamers torrents except the rare stuff.I dont know if the site is closed for registrations but i do have invites if you are interested.

I use Hyperspin as a frontend that automatically loads these per-system configs from RetroArch, works great. I really don't see anything of use in the new version. Never needed to rebind anything since xinput takes care of everything except some shortcut keys.

This seems like a much more significant emulator update: http://www.emucr.com/2015/07/demu-wip-v07-alpha-20150709.html

Finally looks like Demul is being worked on again, I thought it had died like NullDC.

http://ia801709.us.archive.org/zipv...2013-06-14/No-Intro-Collection_2013-06-14.zip

It mostly contains older systems like the Commodore 64, Amiga, every Nintendo system pre-Gamecube, and Sega systems. I'm not sure if they are complete rom sets, but No-Intro sets are guaranteed to be good rom dumps.

It'd be nice if we had a Codex FTP server for this kind of stuff.

Why do you say that? I'm a member of a couple sites which have FTP servers we've used for years to share goodies and sets. Even Abandonia has a pretty public FTP that you only need to gain permission for.

Sorry if this has been discussed in depth, I tried searching and I suck. What controllers do you all recommend for Dolphin and/or Demul?

I don't know what others think, but I use Dual Shock 3 or 4 exlusively for all emulated games and it has worked fine so far.

Never used Demul, but I use a Gamecube controller for Dolphin. If it has waggle I could always bluetooth my Wiimotes.

360 Controller for Windows, despite having a mediocre d-pad and triggers, is probably the best controller to use for emulation and console ports in general for PC. Not because it's superior to dualshock or others but simply because it's the most supported and popular. With RetroArch and even PPSSPP, you can bring up the emu menu by hitting the big "X" button on controller then navigate with it as well. You also get rumble and xinput takes care of your default binds. If only the d-pad wasn't stiff plastic and it had the same top triggers as a PS3 dualshock.
