It's the "content complete" bit that confuses me, since they say some areas are locked until final release. I suppose it means they are still balancing those areas, but it's strangely phrased.

quick look at review graph doesnt spark confidence...

People gave them lots of negative reviews recently because of the lack of updates and they claimed that this game has been abandonded.
Though at least that made them decide to release another instead of waiting until full release.

Game is developed by russian autists. What could go wrong!?
Not all Russian auhtists are made equal.
Last time I seen it it was incredibly shitty. If they did theirs own story about a dystopia on a foreign planet, it would be awesome. Basically they had some environment, that would make decent Paranoia inspired game. Horrible bureaucracy fucking theirs lives, dangerous environment on foreign planet. And various crazy plots.

It's easy to do.

But they decided to take inspiration of one of most irrelevant novels of whole socialistic era Russian literature. Also, for some reason I kinda remember how they COMPLETELLY UNNECESSARY added some people with different skin colors. I can understand when a rich person wanna have zoo from servants from multiple colors. But a far away planet needs people from tightly cooperating societies. Population made from die-hard racist Japanese. That's understandable. People from Dagestan made theirs own colony. That's understandable.

But... What they did could happen from two reasons

https://youtu.be/Inun6EpawOs?list=PLryUyaFpCohvam_FC4oOc-wlDSZMwNHjQ&t=127
1. they are dumb.
2. They believed western propaganda multiculturalism racism and various other bullshits. Added a yellow skin male, probably combination of Russian with Africa female, that sexually identifies himself as a black woman... And they are calling it by something else than crap worse than made by 13 year old children living in 70 years of old century.

Frankly, according to laws of genetics, a game in far future about EARTH homo sapiens, can happen basically in only two ways. 1. ALL normal population is already from multi genetic populations, and they inbred together... Thus no really large difference in body types and skin colors. 2. They were fully racists and not only racist they were able to prevent immigrants with the same skin color to enter the country and destroy unique genetic type. But, a space colony is DANGEROUS place on a frontier (that's typical main driving story element). And typically leaders create colonies with people selected from ONE distinct genetic group, they do it on purpose in case of problems people from the same country/genetic group tend to be more coherent and willing to take risks to protect the rest of the colony. Heroism courage nice relations. All these things. This settings allows even for specialist from other genetic groups, and then they can have a nice person stationed for half year away from his wife/her husband, and they are avoiding sex because they don't wanna betray their partner.

Yea, a simple nice story inside of a game about space colony far away. That's quite simple and easy, how could they botch it?
They could botch it by:
1. Adding multiple skin colors/ethnicity/cultures everywhere.
2. Screwing up the story by trying to mimic some old book, but mixing it with incompatible theme.
3. By obsession about some retarded overly absurd story element, which happens early, doesn't feel right, and makes the game dumber. (If they did it 50 hours later, when after 50 hours of enjoyable game you'd get another 70 hours of enjoyable game... Yea, then might be fine. One of Dragon quests did the same.)

Talented writers tend to spend a lot of time by inventing realistic systems, and creating way how would a distant space colony look like. Talented writers might not be best engineers, but they can get a lot of things right. (Especially when they look at NASA papers about space colonies, theirs design.) But what I seen from videos, this game was created by people who spend less than 1/15 effort than I did several years ago.

Another problems are: Weapon system isn't simulating ANYTHING, and it's crap. You know you have a problem when even Borderlands 1 have weapons that feels more realistic. (Get your ass to firing range, automatic weapons are common in Russia, and even in worst case you don't have money to actually spend some time with REAL weapons, there are videos about weapon damage/use/how they look like...) (BTW the same advice applies to Wasteland 2 and 3.)

So yea, with my over 20 years game development experience I can recognize a train wreck when I see it. This is a train wreck on a level: Scrap it and make better game faster. But, when they scrap it now, they will not learn even elementary skills, and theirs next game would be a train wreck.

Roadside Picnic. I'm not sure how anyone serious would consider it irrelevant; it's one of the most famous Russian novels of the last 75 years.
Well, a person who in all seriousness proposes Russians to "get your ass to firing range", especially after the latest shooting in Kazan... knows jack shit. Not about Russia, but in general.

So I am not surprised.

Raghar a non-specified zone on earth inviting people from all nations.. I think I can excuse some POC. They exist. The commonality with R.P. is technical, the strugatzki novel explores how humans deal with alien, otherworldly , yet spiritual problems (all of their novels do). Encased uses a similar background, but is just a fun RPG.

Dear subscribers! Once again, the latest issue of the post-apocalyptic CRONUS Weekly is on your screens. Can anyone hear us?

This week marked the fifth major infrastructure upgrade under the Dome. The Maelstrom is retreating, opening up new territories, the strength and intelligence of opponents is growing, and battles are becoming more spectacular and dangerous. Read the CRONUS Weekly Special Edition to learn more!

The Maelstrom is retreating

Employees, get ready for new expeditions! The Maelstrom is retreating, opening up new territories beneath the Dome. Madmen, adventurers, and brave explorers are about to discover new southern territories. Who knows what dangers lurk in the new wastelands?

Ash Forest

Our reporters immediately set out on an expedition into new territories. One of the first discoveries was a mysterious forest shrouded in mist. It’s also full of mysterious flashing lights of unknown nature, but even this is not what surprised us the most. It’s literally swarming with madmen who have lost touch with reality.

What happened to them, how did they end up as lost souls in this fog? It is up to the most desperate travelers to find the answer.

Supersonic Strike

High-tech weapons have received new upgrades that every inhabitant of the Dome can't wait to test out. This is one of the strongest firing modes of the particle accelerator "Supernova". It is guaranteed to stun all enemies in a small cone, but can also hit your hero.

Lol. They released a DLC while still in development? Bold move. Post-apocalyptic settings don't appeal to me, but this does look like it might be good if it gets finished.

It was so people who didn't back the Kickstarter could get access to the tiered goodies.

Has anyone tested this game's crafting system yet? Is crafting as a skill worth invested into like UnderRail or could be safely ignored like Atom?
