You won't buy a game you like... because it has an optional feature you won't use?
Yes
This is how there's pronouns and "body type" instead of sex in games now

Fucking solasta sneaked them in too

And they've been so influential on the game, and so detrimental to my experience playing, that i hadn't even noticed them until I read your post.
Social media integration has been equally irrelevant to my experience playing the new Football Manager games, and I wouldn't have noticed if not for the achievement about sharing a match.

Pronouns: rusts/rusty
Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture

Alright, just don't pretend you are acting rationally. This is purely just denying yourself out of spite.
Rusty only buys games that allow you to choose your pronouns.

Guess we'll have to wait for Bethesda to implement social media integration in their games. At that point, he will stop bitching about it.

Personally, I hate it viscerally. Every time I see a pop up that tells me to share my gameplay or take a look at someone else's gameplay, I feel like the game is pushing unwanted ads down my throat.

Wow....

That picture of Obsidian....

It's almost like I can smell the stale wine and used cat litter.

I mean, I knew Obsidian had become a gutted shell of it's original glory, but I didn't realize it was THAT bad.

Audiences can directly influence nearly every aspect of gameplay. During Rome’s turn-based combat, audiences can direct AI targets, heal or knock-down both enemy and streamer combatants, re-name units with their TwitchID, set fire to the battlefield, and much much more. Streamers can ask for help or beg for mercy as the audience directly influences how challenging or easy each combat encounter can be at every step of the process.

Streamers can also use a variety of interaction options in the RPG dialog system to start a vote in-game on a dialog choice, allow the audience to control a specific dialog decision, or even turn full control over to their audience for all of their roleplaying decisions, all in real-time. The extension is designed with a number of in-game controls to help streamers modify and curate their interactive experiences with their audience so they can pace their streams around what type of moments they want to create.

So shit on your own experience and break all immersion? Why would anyone do this? Twitch streamers are sad.

A Demo offering about 4 hours of gameplay will be available on Steam starting tomorrow.

https://thqnordic.com/article/expeditions-rome-demo-interactive-streamer-weekend-new-trailer

Vindobona, Noricum / Hafnia, Daniae, Decembris XV, MMXXI: How did famous consul Cato the elder put it once? „Ceterum censeo Expeditionem esse demonstrandum!“ (By the way, I think Expeditions needs to be shown!“). And who are we, to mess with the opinion of such a wise man? From December 17th, 2021 onwards, a playable demo for Expeditions: Rome, the upcoming CRPG, will be available on Steam. The demo will let you take command of conquering Lesbos at the start of the Greece campaign and offers about 4 hours of gameplay, to find out if you have what it takes to be a great Roman Legatus - and to find out if Expeditions: Rome has what it takes to be crowned your new favorite cRPG.

Download the demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/987840/Expeditions_Rome/

To get accustomed to Greece, before you set foot on its soil, watch the latest trailer for Expeditions: Rome, showing the impressive vista of Greece and the heart of the empire, Rome, the eternal city itself.

The press release also contains some stuff on "select streamers streaming the game on twitch" and offering cosmetic rewards as twitch drops, but who really cares.

Hate all the pandering devs do for a tiny, miniscule section of the player base. I get why they do it, but it doesn't make me dislike it any less.
The effort required to integrate social media is much more manageable than the big lump sum of cash for marketing. You give these social figures the tools to make money off your game, and they'll market it for free.
Like 5 people are going to stream this game total. It's not some breakout cultural fad, it's an obscure semi-histotical RPG.
I guarantee this is going to end up being completely wasted money.
It is enough to get CohhCarnage to play it using this feature and that is 20 000 viewers just from him. And as soon as other twitch streamers notice this, they are going to jump in.

oh boy I can't wait for the game to be popular on twitch so it can be turned into popamole simulator #247 to attract the twitch audience

This sounds like prime Twitch material, everything is starting to make sense now...
