Considering Skyrim and its marriage system, is it safe to assume that the Church of Atom, or whatever else they devise, will give the PC an item that turns everyone into willing PC-sexual sex slaves? Couple that with a voiced protagonist and...

Whats wrong with Boston as a setting?

Fenway Park is the home of the Green Monster. Can anyone think of anything from Fallout that could fit that description?

Bunker Hill.Perfect place for a Vault

One of the DLC dealt with a ghoul taking out a political rival from a stereotypical southern political family. Can anyone think of a political family from Boston who would fit in this story?

This stuff writes itself

INB4 good that means Beth wont have too

Your ignore list.
You guys do realize we are in for a new era of mods, right?

Because now every single modder will dub their terrible voices into their creations to maintain immersion. This is going to be awesome!

Actually, some mods DO have decent voice acting. Given that it was like five or four voice actors for entire Fallout 3 and the same for Skyrim. And it's not like they were able to change their voices for each character. Every old man and woman had the same voice dammit. Even idiot could use voice-changing soft so it is worth a try.

Scripted dialogue is interaction, only passive the way it's done in games. It's usually 'dialogue option 1 is chosen by player' rather than 'player says something'. This is similar to finding a place on your own versus following the quest marker. Detailed environments on the other hand do invite a player to explore actively, read those details and infer.

That's no excuse to have shit VO. It's simple. Bethesda's voice director is incompetent. Look at FONV. Director actually does their job, you're not bound to run into the exact same voice during 5 minutes of playing the game, and if you do, there might be some variation on infliction at the very least. Not so with Bethesda games. Also someone else that knows their mouth from their ass in VO seems to be BioWare, if nothing else.

Sound quality is usually an issue, too. You don't have to be an expert in audio mixing to tell when someone's been recording their lines off of their headset or some $50 microphone.

My Fallout 4 predictions from a faint dream I remember having:

-Fallout 4 will rename the BoS to "The Lyons" and/or calling them the Lyons will be accurate. They will help you fight the Commonwealth and save that doc chick from Fallout 3.

-Super Mutants will have someone from the Commonwealth that did experiments on some of them and have android/cyborg implants installed on them.

-You'll be able to romance an android.

-One of the most powerful enemies will be some lobster/crab enemy that is rare (harder than deathclaws) but it'll be a secret bonus enemy thingy that you have to go out of your way to find.

-Enclave will NOT return.

-The Commonwealth will be more advanced than the Enclave and will likely be the bad guys (something something androids to rule all something something help androids stop the evil Commonwealth something something shitty C&C)

-You'll have the option to turn into a Super Mutant and/or a Ghoul at some point. Of course this will have almost no impact on dialog.

-I suspect they'll keep some of the New Vegas mechanics, like DT and ADS.

-A stamina and run button will be implemented CoD style.

-A new secret T52-B Prototype Super Special Power Armor will be added. It'll look EXCEPTIONALLY retarded and will look similar to this:

That all sounds great, but there's got to be something poorly copied from Dark Souls in there.

I hope that the vampires in Fallout 4 can bite you during combat, and then without any warning, some time later, you will find yourself turning into one of them, but with the vampiric genes being affected by the fallout, you will also start talking like DuffMan from the Simpsons. So every time you bite someone in their sleep to fill your blood hunger, you will watch a VATs slo-mo cinematic of yourself saying stuff like: "OHHH YEAH!". Likewise, you'll have a chain quest to cure yourself of vampirism (not that anyone would want to, OOH YEAHH!), involving locating Moira Brown's sister in the Commonwealth, who is currently working on a "Dealing with STDs in the Wasteland" Survival Guide, which will conveniently open up a ton of romantic possibilities to rival Bioware. OOOH YEAHH.

Very good idea, will make it so people can more easily differentiate between the BoS and those white knight faggots in DC.

Nice, I hope they have cyber eye implants

I'm calling the name now, Giant mudlurk.

Not so sure about that one, unless they have some new angle revolving around finding a "cure" for FEV. Otherwise it sounds like it'd be too permanent, look what happened with werewolves in Skyrim, and that wasn't even permanent. People bitched and moaned that they had to stay a werewolf after the second time, so they "fixed" it in DLC. As for the ghouls, I can see that happening, there was some ghoul scientist who was supposed to be in Van Buren that was trying to create a ghoul race, he considered them more fit for the wasteland. Wouldn't mind seeing that character manifest itself.

-I suspect they'll keep some of the New Vegas mechanics, like DT and ADS.
Sounds good

CoD is better than Fallout 3, so this is good, whatever they can do to fix their shit fps, because god knows they can't do the same for RPG mechanics and dialogue.

If Bethesduh keeps their retarded shit on the east coast and lets Obsidian use the west coast to make real fallout games, I am ok with this.

I might have to quit my job if New Vegas 2 (or something similar) got made.
I'm just hoping they will keep out the stuff that New Vegas brought to the lore.

I don't want to acknowledge what bethesda doing in fallout history/lore so i rather have them keep doing their wasteland hiking simulator while thinking they are the one that is moving the universe forward. While we actually know that real fallout 3 was made by Obsidian under the name of NV.

If obsidian decided they will never buy a licence from bethesda after the review rating fiasco. We can bury this setting in our hearts with manly tears and continue with our lives.

Although the fallout setting is near and dear to our hearts I would welcome an attempt to simply keep the spirit going in a spiritual successor.

It's not like whether a fallout game is good or not is dependent on it having the setting. Besides, whatever happens the fallout series has 3 good games in it already, and I would welcome simply a great rpg over a good fallout sequal.
