You can debate the quality of the dlcs, but they do add new assets to the game. Most of Wasteland Workshop's assets are new, and Automatron was very much new to the base game.
Not to toot GRA's dong or anything but although GRA had a bunch of renamed old guns, I think it also had a bunch of completely new ones too, not to mention completely new weapon mods and ammo types. Now as for Automatron. You get 3 new helmets, 4 new weapons (?) and like 2 new armors. Most of those things consist of recycled assets from FO3 and 4 though. WW is even worse, as it just adds a framework for already existing assets. Far Harbor had better be something amazing because even a retard should be able to tell all they've got so far are laughable DLC.

Who buys a Season Pass, anyway? Most games that offer them don't provide enough content to justify the expense. Learn to follow patterns. Stop Pre-ordering and anyone who mentions wanting a sequel to 'appeal to a wider customer base' or some variant thereof must immediately be stoned to death.

A season pass for a single player game. What season? The "I finish the game in 2 weeks and will not touch it for at least 2 years" season?

Fallout died as soon as Fallout 3 was released (it in a small part, sort of continued to live it's last gasping breath with New Vegas). How anyone can continue to play this garbage, or even discuss it is beyond me.... :M

I think it's fair to say it died, but also it can be said it was 'reborn' in a new form. A game like Fallout 1 or 2 would not sell at all, in fact they didn't really sell that well even back when they were released.

Fallout died with FO:BOS.
Bethesda revived it as a ghoul in the shape of a tree and has since been desecrating the corpse with vile unholy magics.

At this point in New Vegas' lifespan, they had released Dead Money and Honest Hearts, two DLC's that added new characters, new quests, new areas, two engrossing and well-written stories, a dozen new weapons, and at least 10 hours worth of new content overall.

By comparison, all Bethesda has managed to scrounge together to justify its season pass five months after launch is a DLC pack with a quest-line that'll last you an hour or two at most and a stupid robot building mechanic, and a cosmetic dlc that adds a few bits of furniture for your meaningless settlement constructing.

Obsidian only released the GRA and CS at the very tail-end of the game's lifespan, and even then it added much more content than anything Bethesda has put forward so far, and at a fraction of the cost that Bethesda is demanding.

Mods and the players who create them have always been an important part of our games, going all the way back to Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. We believe that our games become something much more special, when we put the power of creation in your hands. New quests, environments, characters, dialogue, outfits, weapons and more – with Mods, the possibilities of what you can do are endless. You are creating new experiences that enhance and take our games into amazing and surprising new directions.

For Fallout 4, our goal was to make Mods easier and more accessible than ever before – for both the creators and the players. By building an all-new system with Bethesda.net we’ve made a huge leap forward in achieving that.

You can now browse and search for the latest and greatest Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all within the game. Simply select Mods from the main menu, and start browsing.

If you want to try making Mods (and we think everybody should), the Creation Kit – the same tool that we used to create Fallout 4 – is a free download via the Bethesda.net launcher. You can check out the Creation Kit Wiki, our online documentation and help file, for more details and tips on how to make them.

We plan to update and evolve Mods and the Creation Kit based on your experiences so be sure to leave feedback in our forums.

How to access the 1.5 Update in Steam Beta:

  • Log into Steam
  • Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
  • Select Settings
  • Select Betas
  • A drop down menu will appear. Select beta
  • Select OK
  • Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
  • When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library

For console players, Mods will be coming to Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 in June. We have a lot to do yet, but we hope it changes console gaming the way it has changed PC.

Finally, we’d like to thank all the Modders who volunteered to beta test the Creation Kit and Mods during our closed beta. Your feedback has been invaluable and we couldn’t have done it without you. For them and for all our players, we can’t wait to see what you create.

I'll stick to nexus, and NMM and Mod Organizer.

The video also mentions that using bethnet mods disables your Achievements. No way the average steam user is going to play without cheevos.

The 1.5 patch introduces this whole beth.net service which is MANDATORY to run ALL mods, not only those found on their site, but every goddamn mod that contains an .esp or .esm file. So, it's mods or cheevos from now on, you can't have them both.

In short, you have to make a beth.net account, log into it in Fallout 4 (and most likely all new Bethesda games from this point forward), the game will scan the FO4 directory for mods, and then you have to enable them from within the game menu. It obviously was made primarly for consoles, but i can see all kinds of wrong shit beth now can do with this system, from good old american censorship (say goodbye to porn, copyrighted content and child killing) to paid mods or even bethesda.net subscriptions.

So, I've been closed beta testing this and it's very powerful but also very complex and can be awkward at times, it's no unity in terms of its ui.

Also, you can still upload mods to other sites and use them normally. And you can still manage your load order and mods externally with Mod Organizer or Nexus Mod manager.

Whats powerful and complex? Bethesda's own Steam Workshop?

BTW the in-game mod managment UI is TERRIFUCKINGBAD, it's really shitty at this moment, and there's like 100 mods so far, it will be even worse with thousands of mods in near future. GG Bethesda :salute:

No, the Creation Kit itself.

Yeah, UI is pretty shit they are working on the new one and I didn't think they'd go public before they finished it but I'm guessing they didn't want to make people wait any longer.

I have no problem with making the modding process easier. Hopefully the only good thing to come out of Fallout 4 can be replicated by other games in the future especially on consoles. Seems Bethesda didn't uphold their part of having mods come to Xbox first.

They really need some kind of shell mod site that gives them plausible deniability for porn and copyright infringement
